I love listening to people like Friedkin (rest in peace). They grew up in a different age and because of the nature of their success and experiences you really will hear whatever they think. It's so refreshing even if I don't agree. His voice and commentary is always excellent!!!
Once upon a time I used to think The French Connection was at the very least Friedkin's second-best film but I think TLADILA betters it as his pinnacle crime/neo-noir thriller. L.A. just oozes off the print and it makes a great double-bill with Michael Mann's Manhunter. "Everybody Wang Chung tonight!" 🎵
Oh yeah love that one too even though they are very different films in their own ways. The 4K of that one is awesome as well. There really needs to be more Secret Service movies made.

Absolutely. The blu-ray of that one is no slouch however. Just only lacking special features.
