Question One: My favorite Willem Dafoe films are The Lighthouse, Super insane role he played here. Was surprised to even see him do things like that. Such a wild role to play and he killed it. Another one is most certainly going to have to be Daybreakers. Holy shit was that movie good and it makes me really disappointed to not hear many talk about that movie. His role in that was also chilling. Love that film so much. Then last but not least Spider-Man as Norman Osbourne/Green Goblin. As you know Spider-Man is extremely close to my heart and I believe I have chosen this movie many times. But there is a reason. Willem Dafoe just so happens to be that reason and it is incredible he was able to do that role. I remember being so mesmerized by the Green Goblin persona and Willem Dafoe to this day is just perfect to me and he playing the villain again in No way Home. Genuinely made me cry. Was so happy to see my childhood villain back. Such an amazing actor with such great talent. The man just doesn't get enough credit in my opinion. Question Two: My favorite 80s crime film will go to Fletch. Watched for the first time this year and loved it. Chevy Chase was magnificent as Fletch. I plan on watching Fletch Lives soon as I just bought it on digital and really can't wait because Fletch was truly too much fun and cannot get enough of the character! Thank you for the chance man! You always rule! Good luck everyone!
I love all your answers buddy! Fletch is one of my favorite 80s comedy and Unfortunately Fletch Lives isn’t that great but you might love it! The Lighthouse would be my choice also. It’s such a unique character with Layers and you never know what he’s thinking. The bits of comedy truly add to his character. I don’t know why people don’t talk about Daybreakers. It got forgotten for some reason. The Green Goblin would be my number two just because when he brought it back in No Way home the Character was truly a Tragedy and not just a villain.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia Daybreakers was freaky as hell man. I couldn't believe how dark that film was and the colors that added to the film gave it such an eerie vibe. One of my favorite horrors now. The characters were nuts man. Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe was wild in that one. Even though I watched it a few months ago I kinda feel I could watch it again. Love the vibe it gave off. The whole have to keep the population alive as the creatures. Just fantastic.
I a 100% agree. I honestly didn’t remember it coming out. I only saw in a couple years ago because I was reading a list loll. I’m glad I found it. I’m going to have to revisit it soon.
Controlled William Defoe - The Florida Project (maybe in the criterion collection one day on 4k). 80's crime drama - Black Rain, Witness, Year of the dragon (would look good on 4k), and Maniac Cop (the first one, still no 4K). Great review like normal. Love your reviews because you say how it is. Manhunter next I hope.
Thank you so much for saying that so really appreciate it! I’m actually hearing rumors that The Florida Project is coming to 4K from A24 pretty soon. Hopefully we get that. It Kills me that The First Maniac Cop is the only one without a 4K. 3 is one of the best looking 4ks out there.
I just watched the 4k and it's a nice 4k. The video I rate an 8 but the sound could have been better I rate the sound a 6. The Wang Chung music doesn't really boom like it should have. I remember this sounding better on VHS with just a 4 speaker system.
Agree to disagree on William Peterson fam 😂 I think for a dude who was only in his 2nd movie I thought he carried this pretty well. I might be in the minority but i definitely rate To Live & Die in LA higher personally than French Connection.
I respect your opinions, It could be the lines he had to read that throws the performance off for me. I agree with you about this being better then the French Connection. I just rewatched that last night and it’s good but this movie is much better and it’s better paced.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia i tend to agree w/the lines. I think LAs script is near perfection to me but I also read that Friedkin allowed a lotta improv which is why some lines seem kinda sketch. Not to mention some of the odd ADR here & there. I know Peterson is Gil Grissom but I can't not think of LA and the impression he made on me. He mightve OVERSOLD archetype of the agent with the Main Character syndrome which is why it works for me. Aviators, leather jacket, airport windsprints, banging INFORMANTS, etc. Which is why the ending is so effective. Cuz while its a stylized movie but it damn sure aint a sentimental one. NO character's fate is sealed w/slow motion or melodrama. 😂 Ok I'm subbed now
Thank you I appreciate it. Your right he has an Archetype and I do like his character because I love the story and plot of this movie. Showing the thin line between cop and Criminal. When you became obsessed and start floating the line and then overstep you get what happens at the end. William Friedkin nailed this movie and one think I didn’t bring up were the brutal effects which he used all the way in French Connection and in Cruising. Hopefully more people find this movie.

Spider-Man (2002) will be my favorite Willem Dafoe performance
That’s an awesome choice. He brought so much Energy to that character and then he knocked it out of the park again with No Way Home.
Asteroid city Dafoes role while breif was pretty good

American Psycho is my favorite for sure with Dafoe

The Lighthouse for sure. Scarface for 80s.

Willem Dafoe was great in The Lighthouse

Willem was great in Platoon. My second answer is Scarface.
Both great choices. He’s a phenomenal actor.
Okay yea while he only appears here and there William Dafoes Performances in John Wick was pretty good
He was good in the first Wick Film. I liked that he was playing both sides but truly cared about John in the end.
I think Willem Dafoe nailed it as Norman Osborn/Green Lantern in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man
I think if you combine that with the same role in No way home then you have his best.
Definitely Dafoes role as the green goblin especially In No Way Home
Yea his performance in the original spider-man is great but he added emotion to it in No Way Home.
