    About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

Yes, mine too! I thought Tracy is a female Doctor Doolittle with her menagerie!🥰🥰 Great film work Terry! And you both worked hard to prepare the ground. It will soon pay off though once the garden is laid out and planted. 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻🌸💐🌷🥀

Terry, as a former Museum technician here in Canada 🇨🇦, I suggest that instead of any type of superglue, that you use to repair the broken china, instead, use regular white glue (polyvinyl acetate or PVA). That’s the glue of choice because it lasts longer than superglue and won’t yellow or crystallize like a superglue will. Practice gently dry-fitting the pieces together first so you figure out the order in which the pieces should be glued: nothing more frustrating than doing a repair and finding out your last piece won’t fit in it’s spot. Do a dry run first. Also, don’t try to do the entire repair in one go: rather take it in steps so each repair has a chance to dry, making it easier to glue in the next piece or two. No need to rush here. Also, as you glue pieces together, hold the mend stable with scotch tape, making sure the tape pieces are long enough to stick them together across the mend to keep the pieces in place while the glue sets up. Keep a moist cloth on hand to wipe away all extra glue; much easier to do it while it’s wet than trying to scrape it off once it’s set up. Take pictures of each step if need be too; broken pieces can tend to look all the same after a while. Also, be aware that glue takes up space and if too much is used, you won’t get your last piece to fit. I used to use a toothpick to apply a very small bead of glue on the broken edges. Have strips of scotch tape lined up along the edge of your work so they’re ready for you and fold over one end to give you something to hold on to when you need to remove it later.
While at the museum I worked on 17th century artifacts and did so for many years. Good luck. No superglue though, no, no.

Tracy, I am from your generation, and my sons are close to the same age as terry and Ash. My boys often come to the farm to help with the big chores when needed, but that is where the similarity ends. There is no way that I could come close to keeping up with the level of work you do. As you used that tiller for probably a few hours, I was amazed. I’ve used them, and that machine makes you feel like your arms are rubber and your bones have been shaken from your body. You then turned around and dug up stumps!! You were still working long after I would have passed out. You are the woman!

Dear Terry, you and your mom work so well together. It’s truly inspiring. It’s so difficult to fathom the amount of work you have completed in two short years. Most people don’t accomplish what you have, in a lifetime! When you were digging out the stump, I remembered over 55 years ago, I was maybe 12 or 13 and my sister was two years younger, our dad was leveling a large area of ground similar to yours with lots of rocks and tree roots. We were helping him along with our mom, he hit a stone with the tiller so took a shovel to try to dig it out. He kept digging and digging, wider and deeper until many hours later he uncovered a boulder the size of a car! He had to hire a bulldozer to move it to a different location on the property. My sister and I used to climb on top of that boulder to have our sisterly conversations. I forgot about it until watching this video. Thank you for reminding me of a fun memory from my young life. God bless all of you, and so sorry to hear about your sweet Westie!! Many Hugs. xx

I admire all you have done and continue to do. One day this will be your crowning achievement. Because it was done with not only hard hard work. Attention to staying true to the chateauxs history. But most importantly It was done with endless love. ❤

Those are beautiful gifts your viewers sent. I use to do fine crochet work like that but now can't as I have carpet tunnel and neuropathy.
You continue to amaze me with all you all do. I can't wait for the volunteers to come and help you all out.❤

Someone should tell sweet little Lord Patrick that what he’s doing isn’t “tilling”😂❤I used to love landscape work until I became disabled. Having my hands in the dirt was my happy place, though hard work. Omg those roots are incredible!

I don't envy Tracy being beaten up by that front tine tiller! My dad referred to those as "jolly jumpers" and he finally invested in a rear tine one. Pure heaven in comparison. I always am amazed at everything you lot do!

Patrick must be the happiest dog ever, all that digging and a loving family, doggie dreams. Do you still have the peacocks? The Walled garden will be so nice for visitors to see once it's done. I bet Terry has it all figured out in his head, so it will be wonderful. My condolences on the passing of Louis.

Take copper nails and pound in several in each of those roots to kill off the tree. Good luck cleaning those out of the rocks.

I can't believe how big the garden is now that the brush is out, what a grand focal point that will be...brings back a lot of memories of pulling out roots, but living in Florida it was all sand which made the job slightly easier(SLIGHTLY)...good job kids...!

Just a little tip that may help you out. Mix white vinegar dish washing soap and sea salt and put in sprayer. Spray your weeds. They will die. It will be easier to kill the weeds on the walls.
