Full screen, HD, and length plus a great review? It's better than the car itself!
I love this new Q5.Thanks for this review, good job as always Thomas.
thanks m8 !
I got the chance to testdrive a Q5 today (190hp, S-line, air suspension) : it really is a top car, a big step forward after the first generation - even if the exterior makes you doubt that. I will not order the air suspension myself, as I am pretty happy with a stiff s-line setup. And also : I am not sure about the 'technology pack' : the google map viewing is pretty neat, but I don't think it is very practical in day today life ...
Thks vm for your reviews, enjoying all of them - keep it up !
thanks for the feedback!
Many thanks Thomas, have carefully watched all your videos for the Q5, GLC and they are extremely informative and detailed. great work! I've chosen a Q5 in the end and can't wait for it to arrive
+Ian thanks and glad we could help!

Not so sure about the vehicle but, dude!!!!, your wardrobe has definitely taken a turn for the better (not that anyone noticed before mind you: (not that there's anything wrong with that) This was/is a classic Thomas review - perfect and on point -
+willie s johnson 👏👏😁
Very nice review Thomas,i like your videos very very much! Wish you all the best in the future videos. ;)
+Matej Vukovic 👍👍👍
Thanks Thomas, I was waiting for this video.
+César Oliveira 👍
Great review as always Thomas.
Now for everyone complaining about Audi's being built in Mexico. All German car manufacturers are moving to Mexico for cheaper labor. Check this out:
BMW de Mexico has two production facilities in Lerma, Toluca, Mexico State.[3][4] In one, the company manufactures BMW motorcycles, and in the second, the company manufactures the BMW 3 series,[5] BMW 5 series,[6] BMW 7 series[7] and BMW X5.[8]
The joint effort between Daimler AG and Nissan Motor Co. to build cars
over a shared platform is still under review, even when the US$ 1
billion plant they build together in Aguascalientes, Mexico, is
scheduled to start rolling out Nissan’s Infiniti luxury models this year
and Mercedes-Benz compact vehicles will follow in 2018.
PS If things keep up like this, we all may have to move to Mexico...
I'm not sure what to think about Q5.
Waiting for upcoming X3.
Really good review Thomas! Good job :)
thanks! We ll have the X3 world premiere for you very soon
I love the colour combo of his clothes and car
🙏
Why all the negativity in the comments? To me, this car is a great-looking point-to-point transporter for people that like simplicity and do not want their car to go out of style in a couple of years. Hence, evolution, not revolution in design.
Compare the 911 from 1964 and the 991.2 gen of this year - yes, they look extremely similar, although more than 40 years have passed between them. Q5 is not an icon, I get it, but there are many people that like conservative looks and evolution. Just a thought.
Just like the Q7 it looks strange on photos...I'm sure just like the Q7 it will look great on the road.
I have to agree with you here - I do not understand why this is, but all new Audis just look strange on photos. I testdrove the new S5 and looked 100% better in person.
Lol. Bollocks. You mean like the old one. It looks old and dated, because of your evolution idea.
I'm in agreement with you regarding leather upholstery. Would rather a fabric, alcantara trim, I hate the smell & feel of leather also the cruelty aspect. Keep up the good work. Best reviews out there
+Jenny Donne thanks jenny! Spread the word!
+Jenny Donne thanks jenny! Spread the word!
Good work Thomas...I'm sad that we in the U.S.are not treated to the fine/fuel efficiency of the diesel models you get in world! Why? I blame the parent owner of Audi completely! Still, sad to watch this review and know I cannot purchase it!
Nice review Thomas, cant wait for the Q4.
thanks!
+Autogefühl
Hey Thomas, fantastic review as always I must tell you that I really like the fit and finish of the new Audi cars. My 2017 A4 just seems so solid, planted and quiet that every time I step into the car its like the first. IMHO no other manufacturer does it quite so well in this day and age, the conservative styling and evolutionary design also ensures reliability with very minor updates to components from one generation to next.
thanks for the feedback!
you really look like superman great reviews thanks for the updated content its quite fun
+oz land 👍👍
Hm I really like the new B9-gen Audis! The A4 Avant looks really classy, looking forward to the RS4
And talking about the diesels... I think it is really hard to "remove" them from the German market.. many manufacturers don't have good petrol options and the second hand premium market if filled with diesels etc .. so it'll take some time.. taking Q5.. why would I get the 252hp, more expensive petrol than the 190/163 diesel.. if they'd offer the 2.0T with 190hp (that they have removed from the A4 lineup, why ever, the 1.4 is meh) and maybe even FWD, manual it would be a really great and cheap and attractive variant..
Bravo Thomas!! That extra glovebox you nearly lost your arm in is probably a forward ski hatch!! It must be a new idea 😆. Keep "em coming!! Let's go!!!
haha =)
Please also show us the parking assist options. Does it have a rear view parking camera?
Sure, optional
It's ok to have leather,as long as it's ventilated and heated
easier just to take fabric :)
They can keep the Mexican made Audi, especially if they do not pass savings onto the customer! Greedy corporate policy!
not much shoe stile, but man that alpina is so nice, also the review is top notch as always :)

Very nice about what i expect from Audi
Best reviews, Brilliant UA-cam Channel
thanks, spread the word for us!
I will...
Is a review of the SQ5 also coming ?
I'm also waiting for the full HD, full screen and full length review of the SQ5!
+MikeZolo yes about a week left!
I am indifferent about leather seats--I think high grade leatherette is as good and as comfortable if you like the leather feel; cloth is my preference for comfort but it is usually unavailable in higher trims. But hard plastic on my premium SUV where I will probably rest my arm is pretty much a deal killer. I do not know much about the manufacture of cars, but how much more could the an even slightly better material be? (For the record, I drive a GTI, so this car would be out of my range anyway....)
+Edward Reiss exactly.
Edward Reiss The Jaguar F-Pace has even more hard plastic that is easily scratched, so I took it off my list.
wow, this is end of my video watching at your channel/ youtube channel, tomorrow i am going to book my SUV, Q5 Technology thanks for giving knowledge about Q5
pls keep joining us further :)
when there is some car u are not interested with, but the video is made by Autogefühl lol im here now
+Xiyao Cai 😎
Such a shame the press cars they give you are not more regular specs without air suspension, optional safety tech and sound insulating glass etc as 8/10 buyers do not spec the most expensive options.
Is it really hard plastic? It feels more rubber coated than hard plastic. Nice review
Watching this in full volume also.
=)
If you have dogs in your car, you understand the hard window sill inside
@Thomas off topic, what watch are you wearing? looks absolutely stunning. Btw after 3 months I am up for a new car, again so watching all of your clips again.
+Luc Peeters alpina startimer pilot big date with metal wristlet it is! :)

Great review as always. As for the car, the only thing I can say is that audi is the living proof german car brands can built crappy cars as other manufacturers. Overpriced, still no touch screen in the infotainement system and the car quality is really sucky too.
Hei Thomas another amazing review in a boring car though! The most intriguing thing i want to ask is ,what watch do you wear?Seems really nice!
hey m8, thats the Alpina Startimer Pilot Big Date with metal wristlet :)

I really like the new q5! all of the other brands (benz and bmw) looks the same, e class c class no difference...so same like audi. but it is still a good car, and not everybody like to have a very special design! it is understatement and someone People like this! they selled a lot of them...
I've already driven the new Audi Q5 SUV TFSI variant
So, cheaper labor, cheaper materials and yet, same or even higher prices. Seems about right.
Hey Thomas, thumbs up on your belt. What brand and where can I buy it. The perforated detail adds a nice touch.
I dont see I am wearing a belt here that u can see? :)
Anyways, noah shop has awesome belts.

Buying this car will be the beginning of a slow boring death for me.
but the review from Thomas is always top notch.

I always wanted to know, are car part's exactly the same brand, for cars Made in Mexico(Q5), or for example, Made in Germany(A4).
BTW, great rewiev Thomas, as always!
+the rainman thanks! Not exactly as there are also other suppliers close by. But same standards
Hi , wich one would you chose the Mercedes GLC or this Q5? Also Where there big differences with this 2.0 TDI against the 2.0 tfsi performance wise?
+Amir Eclass compare our glc reviews!
70k with no electric seats? manual steering wheel? what is going on with today's prices. VAG group can probably get the best prices since their tech is spread amongst so many brands, YET their prices are through the roof. wtf..
Nice car, great review. I subscribed your channel and become your big fan now :)
Btw, I like your watch :)
awesome =)
I feel a bit of a double standard occuring here with this Audi. If it were any other car, the interior would be chastised as plasticky and cheap, yet because "it's an Audi", the press insists it is "minimalist" and "well designed". Hmm.... Nothing against Autogefuhl though, I love this channel.
thanks for the feedback, I think we also criticize Audi enough and also described the flaws of this interior, didnt we?
Thomas in his summer attire
+Robert Feather ☀️
great : you can adjust rear seats for real comfort! You cannot do this on the XC60 volvo!
I don't understand car manufacturer/buyers that want leather seats in the car. It is non-breathable material which means in summer or over long drive it gets extremely uncomfortable. There are many other materials that are far more comfortable and durable than leather.
exactly!
Great car however you should have tested it also on unpaved/gravel road not only on perfectly paved german roads.
See our review from Mexico for that (video description)
if it is made in mexico why is not half of the price? i've deleted it from short list
hi @thomas , which type of auto gear box is better for stop go traffic like here in India , I heard tat dual clutch gearboxes like the ones used by vw group have more chance of failure than the torque converter type ones used by BMW are better for stop go traffic and are less jerky than dual clutch gearboxes in slow moving traffic , please advice .
+Muralidhara Reddy indeed converter's are better for Stop n go and for heavy load, everything else in between the dual clutch is good fot smoothness
Audi became better and better.
I love German cars.
ErykZ this one is Mexican...
ErykZ just no!
Tomás Jarsun its build in maxican but with german standarts.
Florian Kuche I wonder if the US will put a 25% border tax on this car.
Ok.. with Mexican workers and their standard of living. You can't possibly think it's going to be the same quality. If it was, they wouldn't have moved production to a 3rd world country
Where are the fog lights?
Thomas which do you prefer, Q5 or Macan, both on the same platform.
+siphonsnob compare our macan reviews:)
Autogefühl I have watched your Macan videos many times, even the 4 cylinder model. My guess is that you think the Macan is more fun to drive. am I correct?
the Macan is surely more set to a dynamic ride, but for some that can be too stiff, it really depends on your personal preference
Vielen Dank für dieser Fahrbericht. Können Sie bitte der neue Renault Koleos 175 Dci 4x4 Automatik mal probefahren und es uns berichten ? Scheint mir ein interessantes Auto zu sein. Thanks, but could you please test the all new Renault Koleos?
+Endre Lazar we can try to get it
will you do a review of the new mercedes gla soon?
lets see what we can do
This car looks like a tiny hotwheels when Thomas is around...
$70K?! That's stealing plain and simple!
70K Euro, not USD
Thomas your RPM were 1000 how would you realize whether it is a diesel or not? :P :P
Waiting for velar and xc60 thomas!
will be all here! :)

Эти разговоры о спасении животных просто дичь. Почти все едят мясо, но вот для сидений убивать животных нельзя…. С чего это?))))

Cheers! I think u should be
Does it offer Android Auto or only Apple Carplay
Most likely yes
FIRST.
GOOD MORNING Autogefühl team.
+Markus Deep good morning :)
i dont even like audi... i just watch this video for his voice xD... he should do asmr
Sadly audi wants to make more money building this car in mexico while price for this car is still very high.
This is not good reputation for audi. Review itself is nice but car doesnt look appealing. Build quality doesnt look good also. Hard plastic for that high trim level?
Hey this one looks like the old ones, what do you know, nothing new!
Base Macan or top tier Q5?
ah you were here already =) hehe
Depends on sportiness vs comfort and about the style
thanks, ill have to test drive the Macan still. Keep up the great videos.
Subtitles, please.
😂 "Animal skin" 8:34
Thank you for taking interest in this very important topic!
At Autogefühl, we have already received several thousands (!) comments, messages and mails that more and more people want to combine enjoying their car with reducing the environmental impact at the same time. We strongly believe that sustainable luxury is possible or at least we should do everything to support that. Those many thousand people confirming this trend, motivate us to give you the most authentic information and background on the product parts. It is not about what you bought in the past, but what you decide in the future and what you decide and influence as a customer. So we want you to have all information that you need for a decision you later enjoy and like best yourself.
Check out our special video addressing car CEOs as a first summary and also see conditions of animal skin production:
ua-cam.com/video/LNSUzZXzpdc/v-deo.html
List of practical reasons against animal skin seats:
1. animal skin seats are often an expensive option, by going for base trim level seats you can save a lot of money and get a better price-performance-deal (often the manufacturers claim that animal leather is top of luxury because they can earn the best money with it)
2. animal skin seats get hot in summer and you stick to the seat
3. they are cold in winter
4. on cloth or microfibre surfaces, you basically don’t need seat heating nor cooling
5. animal skin seats wear out very fast and look like granny’s old sofa
6. if you want leather look (because visually it sure can look very nice!) or need seats that can be wiped clean easier, the leatherette (faux leather) surfaces are meanwhile highly evolved and it is possible that it feels even softer and better than anything else (See our Tesla Model X review ua-cam.com/video/y2wNGFKa4M0/v-deo.html) So Tesla shows that the discussion, whether you need animal skin is basically done.
7. More manufacturer names for their good alternatives: Mercedes MBTex/Artico for leatherette, Dinamica for microfibre. BMW Sensatec, Toyota Sof-Tex, Lexus Nu-Luxe (all faux leather)
To the environmental reasons:
1. The way the cows are held are catastrophic (see videos below)
2. The factory farming industry can be accounted for 50 % of climate emissions and thus is the number one reason for climate change and environmental destruction. It is the number one reason for deforestation, two thirds of all agricultural land on earth is used for animal food crops. If you would feed humans directly by using the land, you could produce much more food for everyone. See this interesting essay for more on climate emissions background: www.worldwatch.org/files/pdf/Livestock%20and%20Climate%20Change.pdf
3. So it is not only cows that are suffering, but also the environment and to a big part also humans. Think of slavery-like working conditions in slaughterhouses (there are plenty of documentaries about this) or think of chemically altered drinking water in animal skin production villages as also seen in the video footage.
4. The discussion, for which body part the cow is killed first, is very patronizing. But if you really think it would be important why someone gets killed: There are many productions where the cow is killed for the skin first, sometimes even while still being (part-)alive, the skin is the most profitable single part of the body.
5. So even if a cow gets theoretically killed for meat first, you give additional money to an industry that relies on killing, pollutes the environment and harms people with chemicals. Let's say you are standing at the meat counter. And you ask for the leg of the cow. The butcher tells you: "You can eat that without worrying, the cow was slaughtered for the neck first". The next customer demands the neck. The butcher tells him: "It's not your fault, the cow was slaughtered for the belly". A the next customer demands the hide, what answer does he get? You see, that argument of "byproduct" comes from the meat and leather industry to cover up that you contribute to killing no matter which part of the body you buy.
6. To the often said argument, animal skin would just be a byproduct, please google/youtube "leather is not a byproduct" you will find plenty of information. A good overview on all those issues can also be found here: adaptt.org/
More special video episodes:
1. A initial special video from Autogefühl considering the use of leather can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/8f91KgbVbJQ/v-deo.html
2. And another one right here: ua-cam.com/video/tMNgcLE0LDU/v-deo.html
3. Furthermore, you’ll find the footage of leather production also here, where people are walking in chemicals etc. and animals have to watch their friends being slaughtered in front of their eyes: ua-cam.com/video/JipYvuDsI6s/v-deo.html
timecode starting 27:46
4. This is another video which very well summarizes the torture of leather production, shots taken at big farms which directly produce for the automotive industry: ua-cam.com/video/OgHs239bAnE/v-deo.html
5. Please note that those videos are made by well-known journalists and cameramen who were not influenced by any animal welfare organisation, they supply their footage to the animal rights groups of course. I partly know the creators of the video footage personally and they are all authentic. You don’t have to search long to find cruel production environments anyway.
Manufacturers reactions:
We started the very first inquiry years ago, with the result that car manufacturers do not reveal their sources of animal skin AT ALL. If it all would be clean and happening without harm, why don’t they show it to us whereas they are showing us every other detail of their products? They have good reason not to, because there is no such thing as a clean animal skin production without harming cows, humans and the environment. The only thing a manufacturer can do is increase their effort for a better future, and we are helping with in-depth talks and interviews by presenting the increasing customer demand for sustainable luxury.
So meanwhile, we more often also get feedback that a lot of manufacturers are working on leather-free interiors and are aware of the situation. However, much has to be done still and the Autogefuehl community is massively helping in boosting the positive change!
Help to raise awareness on this subject. Thanks!
I would prefer Volvo XC60 instead of Audi.... though people call it mommy's car :$ Thomas can you compare them in a video?
XC60 full review in about a month
Cool!
See the all-new XC60 review: ua-cam.com/video/EO51oLAjl4E/v-deo.html
Hi Thomas, I already have reviewed it..... I was more interested in your driving remarks.. interior is certainly gorgeous than Q5 and so does the design....
Nice informal style reviews..... That over confident #Carwow British reviews suck.
thanks, great to have you with us!
These crossovers.. in white it looks like Audis interpretation of humpty dumpty. HI THOMAS!!!!!!
+DimachkaS 👍
WOW,70 000 euros !
Hard plastic on top of the doors, manual adjustment for steering wheel, manual lift gate,VW switches for locking doors and power windows, NO THANKS !!!
Ever hear the expression "over the top"? Well, this design is definitely "under the top". Way too boring in style and that diesel engine sounds like one of those old European taxi cabs, I will anxiously await your SQ5 review to see if they "spiced" it up a little.
Also, what is with Audi and leather? Here in the US I cannot buy an Audi unless it has leather.
Mercedes' mb-tex, BMW's sensatex are extremely well wearing and fantasic to sit on. Does Audi have something similar in the European market that they are holding back from North America?
No they dont. You can get fabric seats for some of the models with the very base trim, but that's about it. Indeed they somehow seem to have a fetish for animal skin
Now now Thomas. Animal skin sounds too cruel. Animal hide sounds better :-) Gute Nacht
It sounds even less cruel than it is. Check our special episode: ua-cam.com/video/LNSUzZXzpdc/v-deo.html
I totally agree. My daughter is a vegan and is driving me nuts :-) Guten Morgen. PS I've been to Germany like 10 times - my sister in law lives in Mannheim - but I could never learn more than a couple of greetings.
nice, your daughter is the future :)
VOLVO XC60, thats all i wanna say.
full review in about a month
Looks nice, but apparently drives like mush.
broadwayblue222 nope, go watch reviews of it, its as comfy as the Q5 if not more, both SUVs are not meant to be sporty because why would a family man want a sporty driving in a family SUV so he will lose comfort i just don't understand the F pace, why would i want a SUV that is sporty when it loses comfort, its a F**** SUV they are made to be comfortable, spacious, safe and practical.
See the all-new XC60 review: ua-cam.com/video/EO51oLAjl4E/v-deo.html
xc60 is a bit more expensive than q5 (though not as much as a range rover), less tech than q5, heavier, etc, its not a bad car but not as good as q5. your comment about people not wanting family sporty cars makes no sense, the market has been showing otherwise for years
i can not understand why the build quality, like the hard plastics, is so bad in this Q5. I would like to se soft touch, this is'nt worth it and i'm used to better quality in audis
Thomas, I see what you mean about the animal skins. I can imagine ancient people using animal skin to clothe themselves etc. However we are not ancient people. With all the technology available to modern day man, we are able to manufacture animal skin substitutes, so we don't have to sit on a dead cow when we get into our vehicle.
+Van Hammer well said!
+Van Hammer well said!
9:16 Thomas straight up threatening Audi. It would be a shame if some certain factory in Mexico got damaged, or burned down, eh? Let's see what the future holds... Audi, Just make cars without killing farm animals. Leather is so overrated.
+IMB2U totally! However its not threatening but just common sense
If any anyone knows doe's the "screen" retract into the dash if desired? thank you
This new Q5 is boring and uninspiring. And those cheap materials are unacceptable for such a big price.
Is this the S-Line version?
+Tumi Manthata check the link to the other review for that
Autogefühl Thanks, but I'd also like to see the 2018 Q5 S-Line in-depth review.
+Tumi Manthata click the link in the description, there is no difference, the car just came out
Lol I love thomas' laugh lol he's so hot 😋
A lost opportunity the breathe new life into the Q5. The grill is ugly, the rest is outdated, the designers have failed. Audi are going backwards.
Come on Audi I am going to be buying an s3 soon, no more animal skins
My 2015 rav4 has way more legroom for the rear passengers. The Q5 has the same kneeroom as my mother's yaris😂😂
my take on this is that its ugly af... i dont know why but i dont like it :c maybe because its not a sporty look.
For the ones wondering what Opel review Thomas was talking about! ;)
ua-cam.com/video/0QmUWUnCU4Y/v-deo.html
Make it all electric.
so much money and so much plastic inside
u fine af Thomas
What Thomas hard plastic in a Audi Q5. it will loose agains Volvo XC60. Sorry audi.
It will lose because of some hard plastics....yeah sure.
See the all-new XC60 review: ua-cam.com/video/EO51oLAjl4E/v-deo.html
Plus for review! minus for 70g audi lol
Who wants to buy german car made in mexico...
A lot of people buy German cars made in the U.S...Not sure there is a difference.
Don't worry, it's made with the same robots
DJXJ#321 that doesn't matter
Audi really lost their touch, the downward spiral has been really fast. What a shame...
This is the last car made by the old design chief...the new one has taken over already!
yeah, winning le mans with the first diesels in le mans, winning le mans with first hybrids in le mans, making chassis and engines for lamborghini and bentley, making small rs cars that keep up with much much more expensive cars, extremely advanced tech, your downward concept seems in need to be revised
