Postle would've folded the turn
:D
👏.....👏...👏..👏.👏.👏👏👏👏👏
too soon? this is hilarious
and open folded as soon as the J hit the deck
Sad but true
If someone folded this online, the hand history would stand up in court as evidence of cheating
If this hand happened live, it would be in court as evidence of cheating
Bro stop it already
Plot twist: Garrett was actually POTRIPPER all along.
I mean .. I guessssss. The 3bet on the turn is a sign that a fold is reasonable on the river if bet sizing read is right
This guy does win A LOT, I do think its fishy.

But Garett's not wearing a cap with a big bulge in it or looking down at his dick constantly, has he taken it to a new level?
You have to realize that everything you do at the poker table doesn't matter because I can see your cards.
Theres so many ways to cheat if the house is in on it..card edging..etc.. Not saying that gman is cheating but he can have a tiny ear piece in and be told everyhand and what to play but he'd need someone helping..

Garrett is the kind of guy that makes daily trips to Whole Foods and takes time out of his day to talk to the staff... Then gets on LATB and folds the second nuts.
#PerfectHuman
“Ya fold it, sure.” 😂 LATB GOAT
This is the fold equivalent of getting it in with 2 under cards to an over pair and hitting trips. Bad play good result. This is Bad fold, good result.
@@6ixmanpoker605 Why is it a bad fold? It's correct and also Garret is a better player than Doug
@@konst1100 I can explain. He has to call 14,500 into 31,550. So he has to be correct 33% of the time for this to be a profitable call. He has the second nuts on a 3 card straight ( not 4 ) and he blocks one of the cards needed to beat him by having it in his hand. With all these factors and how the hand was bet he has the best hand about 80%-90% of the time. So it is almost a 3x bad fold.
@@6ixmanpoker605 90% of the time 😂😂 So Andy, who rarely bluffs has 90% of the time a bluff 3betting the turn v garret? There are only 2 combos of pocket 10, the most natural bluff because he also blocks it and is Andy really 3betting QQ on the turn and bombing the river all the time? @@nonolerobot19 get the tf outta here and never watch or play poker again. you have no clue what you are talking about. Andy 3bet on the turn, he's not doing that with nothing. Thank you for all the review videos and content you've posted. I really appreciate them. Wish you the best.

Beast fold by Garret! Straight up putting Andy on Q10, when he’s holding the 10 and second nuts?! That’s just gangsta!!!
PLOT TWIST: Garrett Adelstein and Mike Postle were seen having dinner together the night prior to this cash game took place.
Folding is actually kind of insulting to Andy
Yeah it really is
Andy is definitely capable of bluffing there too but I think it was g-man's mood that saved him $$$...just didn't want to risk a cooler
LookingForTruth yeah seems this was the case
How
Rat Snackerson It’s insulting because it says he doesn’t think he is capable of having enough bluffs or thinner value (107, sets) for it to be a call (based on turn 3bet)

Andy knew right away what Garrett laid down and he was beyond rattled that he missed that value. He ended up getting up and going on a walk for a while right after because he was so tilted
Cory Mengden confirmed?
@Katrina Michlik Yes confirmed. Check out the vod on LATB website if you want to see. A few mins later Garrett essentially said out loud what he had and was fucking with Andy because he knew it was a beyond good fold. It was 10/10
Jo Mel is it free?
It’s not free. I watched him walk away also. I think Andy should’ve called turn although I understand him raising. Instead Garrett would’ve lead big on river and Andy could’ve raised big and then there’s a better chance of Garrett calling. He gave his hand away a little too early.
@@tigerskob He got the $7k call on the turn. If he would have waited for the river, I don't think he would have gotten the $7k at that point.
A couple of years later, Doug will fold the same exact hand to Hellmuth’s Q10 all-in on the flop. Always keep them guessing 😈
What a video .. insane analysis.. appreciative of you Doug
Sick cooler and it´s Andy that ends up on tilt...Impressive stuff from Garrett
amazing video thank you doug...subscribed!
Mike Postle couldn’t make that lay down even seeing his opponents cards. Garett is unreal
Both Garrett and Doug folded in this exact spot, I play 150 bigs get it in and complain about how unlucky I got. I do believe Doug’s fold was easier because Phil H gave off alarming tells while Andy did not.
i thought this was about Mike Postle, i was like, dam that was fast
It is, instead Garret has a fucking nano chip planted in his ear along with Ryan
Key takeaways: checking, betting , raising OR folding, Preflop, or any street thereafter, seems totally reasonable.
I'd argue that folding the second nut boat to nut boat is sometimes easier than folding second nut straight to nut straight (of course when no better draw completes).
Looking forward to more videos. I'm so glad you had the plane prop (and yes, dammit, that pun was intended).
IT IS THE SAME HAND THAT DOUG MADE THE MOST LEGENDARY FOLD IN POKER HISTORY VS PHIL HELMUTH

Watched this live. Garrett was having a really bad session. It got even worse later in the stream as he got drunk and started playing pretty wild. Hopefully GMan feels better now, not fun to watch a hero in pain.
This hand just adds to his legend though, and he crushes this game so I think he will be ok
Matthew Glen yeah this hand was epic. it was fun to see him perk up an hour later in the stream when Feldman told him about the epic fold.
Pretty sure I remember him saying something along the lines of "I feel like something really bad is about to happen" right before this hand... Spooky
@@ericpettigrew9480 Doug literally shows him saying that in the video...
This never gets old. If Garrett led out on the river for 7k and Andy raised I could see a fold but with 2nd nuts check bet fold is crazy. So much for the whole blockers argument having that 10 ball.
It may be the "incorrect" fold but it's still flat out amazing. World class. I wouldn't want Garret (or Andy) at my table
It’s a sick and amazing looking fold but if it’s incorrect then it can’t be world class. However, tough to say that’s incorrect when they’re super deep and this was x/r then 3b OTT. I mean, how often is Andy taking this line as a bluff when Garret’s range is also uncapped. Not a black and white spot, but I’d still lean towards a call but it’s close.
how's that incorrect when he read his opponent correctly? You can't just play like a robot. lmao
At this point these hand reviews are starting to sound more like 2+2 advice when you start being sarcastic. Perfect humour.
My favorite part of the video was Tifa's theme music.
That upswing segment was hilarious
Doug are you using a new microphone? Sounds better if so. Thanks for another solid analysis!
Folding the second nuts, while having a blocker to the nuts is just a (-)EV move. 9/10 he is folding his straight to his opponents missed draw, 2 pair or set. I always make that call and get paid 90% of the time.
You’re the best. You must be too good they dont want you on the show hey. Cause you would take all Gman’s money
At 3:53 in those shows.. when the statues eyes start moving..
Garret is the table captain, he slowrolled the fold he's my man... Live poker at its best...
Great player admire his honesty and wisdom. Need that in my games.
Doug made the same move vs Phil Hellmuth a few months back.
Given everything about this hand and dynamic, I can honestly say this is the sickest fold ever. I don’t even think it’s close
I agree. Not even like the action went check, bet, raise, 3 bet. Or bet, raise. Just check folding second nuts to a pot sized bet.
Just shows that no matter how great of a player you are in live games that play so deep most of them are never balanced in certain spots, and just to clarify in advance Andy is a beast.
Imo the 'mistake' that Andy made is on the turn where I don't think that he implements a balanced strategy at all and thats what made Garrett sniff this one out. I don't think that he ever bluffs-3bet there on the turn IP, he would simply call with his good made hands that are not the nuts and even with his huge draws in order not too get blown out of the pot if gman decides to 4-bet the turn.
The thing that makes this hand so great is that Gman knows that T7 no diamond there should be a call 100% of the times but decides to avoid the GTO play and just makes the exploitable laydown in an underbluffed spot with the extra difficulty that if wrong he will be ridiculed in front of the whole world. Simply great stuff from Gman, if a GTO machine played in the exact same lineups as Gman I doubt that it could extract the same amount of value even though it would have an edge in HU pots against the man.
Wow you're such a pro, I bet you've one millions of dollars playing this game

Garrett is so accomplished, yet watching the clip it seems he knew he was going to fold the moment the river bet landed.
I suspect Garrett had a read on his opponent - maybe Andy underbluffs these situations. Normally folding the 2nd nuts (esp. when you've taken a passive line thus far) would be insane. Garrett is not insane, so he probably had a read.
Andy always lives in Garret’s shadow lol
Next level speech play and knowing your opponent
Same thing happened to me on the last day when I was in vegas. I even said you have the Q10 hand, but I still made the call. Tanked for an hour but I was like I know you have it but call.
Great analysis as always Doug but you know Postle would have folded as soon as he saw the turn no bet no check just fold.. He’s a god.
If they had never played a hand together, I’d say from a GTO perspective...bad fold. But because that’s definitely not the case here and exploitative play becomes a factor, it’s actually one of the sickest...ever.
From a GTO perspective it's a fold pre
oh really? you think think GTO would be to call here? go figure.. smh
Tory Langley Forget about the words GTO, folding 2nd nuts vs. a random in that spot is a bad fold...period.
@@potsgetbuilt i agree with you.
The turn reraise made him do it
so how big rake should be to be considerable factor?
Who would possibly fold 10-7 against Queen-10?
"The Fuck did you lay that down?!"
The thing about LATB is that all the hands are going to be significantly distorted from another game of these stakes and skill levels because each session is recorded and Andy and Garret obviously watch all the footage. Garret likely felt almost 100% certain Andy had QT for that reason, under normal circumstances he would never fold there.
@James Tyler You never know. I have seen him get owned a lot but at these stakes all you need is to win a bit more often then you lose, easy to hide it unless you're completely Blatant, people always get too greedy.
@James Tyler He was on survivor so you know he has some acting skills lol.

Final Fantasy Soundtrack on 12:40! Who heard it too? Very nice 1, Doug!!!
Man that comment he made before the hand about not feeling well then this happening right away is severely under rated. I've been playing poker for a while and I've personally experienced it and seen other people experience it too. We have inherent psychic abilities but of course talking about it seems "crazy" but if you've played a long time and have even just kept an open mind about it, you would see it coming up
Lol
First time commenting.
Doug Polk you are the best!
This has got to be the best fold in poker history. Proof to me otherwise.
that guy that folded is one of the best players at that table.
I would have gone broke here for sure, I also would have been stoked until I saw the showdown. That fold was amazing, suspicious even?
And then some time later, Polk makes the EXACT same fold vs Hellmuth on the new series of HSP! It was a 🐐fold on LATB, and a 🐐 fold on HSP. GG Doug!
Crazy as it might sound, I actually think, there is a case for folding already to that large turn 3-bet. Your hand can not improve, If your opponent has QT, you are dead, and if he is bluffing, he has decent equity. So nothing good can happen for you on the river, but a lot of bad things can happen. A board pair, flush coming in, even a T, that will counterfeit your hand. There is a reason, why second or third straight is often referred to with names like the dummys end.
However if you call the turn and see a blank river like this, you kind of have to call again. The whole justification for calling on the turn is to catch a bluff, and when everything missed, your opponent could certainly still be bluffing on the river. You also block the nuts, and you dont block most bluffs, so this is the absolute ideal bluff catcher.
So Garrett did not play this well, but in these Mike Postle days I certainly dont see this hand as evidence of cheating. If Garrett knew his opponents cards, there was no reason to check-raise the turn and put himself in this gross spot. He could just have check-called down and gotten to a cheap showdown. Or he could have gone for a smaller size. There is no reason to almost pot it, if you know, your opponent has the nuts and is going to raise you.
what if Andy has a set?
I won't watch live at the bike if Garrett isn't there. Dude is a straight G!! Dude's such a huge favorite, he folds 2nd nuts no problem.
Folding T7 on J98 board ever so slightly harder v Andy than v Hellmuth...sorry Doug, you’re still the man ❤️

I’m a homer type poker player and still have a lot to learn. Bottom line, I Love your videos the most, Doug and I thank you for the content. I could never sit with Garrett. He would stress me out. Nice guy I’m sure. But he’s intense.
Dude, that is some next level shit. Like a level that nobody else plays on. And I'm not really a fan of the guy, but that lay down is legendary.
When an absolutely amazing play is simultaneously the wrong play....
I don’t understand the turn call if he decides to fold river after all possible draws bricked. Would love to hear his thoughts on the hand
confirmation.
When he checked river it was clear to me he was setting the trap. Check-raising all-in for value has to be 100 % the best play. True, he would've lost in this instance against the ONLY hand that beats him but much more frequently the opponent will have hands like 88, 99, 98 or an overpair and be forced to call. Check calling T7 would be WAY TOO TIGHT already and folding this hand is the action of someone who a) doesnt know poker or b) knows the opponent's exact holding...
Lol fish
Sick fold bro. Agree its a call...but if you know, you know.. I genuinely think many pros are just lucky, but Garrett is clearly a great live player. This cant be anything but a read, and a pin point one at that. Turning the 2nd nut str on a gutter then folding on a river brick means he legitimately put him on QT with such confidence its scary. Theres all the sets and over pairs he crushes. Add to that he has made many light calls and Andy knows that. For this reason alone the call is recommended, even mandatory, so making the correct fold here is next level...
It's an amazing fold!
But honestly I can never fold in that spot you have to show me QUEEN TEN to beat me!!
Funny vid given recent knowledge.
I was thinking an even larger river bet makes sense. It might look more like a bluff, and the larger size (say 1.5 x pot) would likely be paid off if the size actually used was, plus he can work in a few more bluffs.
If 80% pot won’t get paid off. 1.5x certainly won’t. These guys are not like ur local players. Also, 80% pot bluff is even better than 1.5x bluff. And it would have worked.
That FFVII Tifa’s theme at 12:38 tho lol

Once again convinced that Garrett is a very strong player. Favorite cash player
great analysis, as always, Doug. We know you would never talk about (or credit) any live reads, but isn't just possible that Garrett picks up enough from Andy to tilt his decision toward a fold. They play together a lot, so i have assume Garrett knows Andy's patterns and behavior really well. Could that be enough for somebody like Garrett (a full-time high stakes live player) to influence his decision? Isn't that at least worth mentioning? Wouldn't that be a blend of GTO and exploitative you talk about? (and, yes, i get it, the rest of us mere mortals shouldn't emulate that - we can't)
Garret is a fuckin boss
I used to get kind of irked how good he can run at times.
Full respect
Thank you!
By the way. You should have added that it's ok to sometimes make exploitable folds when you have that read.
I feel like Doug disagrees with the fold. I think Dougs advice has quite clearly been that you must call every single time with the top 5% of your range no matter what. Accepting that your opponent can potentislly have tbe nuts on any occasion you dont, but statistically, calling everytime guarantees a win rate that will be higher than sometimes folding the top x% of your range regardless of perceived reads..
@@fevolenko3995 @Fevolenko If someone's "3-bet turn- bet big river" range is too strong you should exploit opponent by folding river ALWAYS in this spot.
