The only thing I don't like about the patch, aside from Baiken getting that much nerfed is how strong red WA is in comparison to the rest. Many blue WA characters cannot really use it reliably and they mostly needed it for the hard knockdown, such as Millia - but red WA still feels the same and even slightly more powerful vs throw attempts, giving better shimmy opportunities... I hope they continue fine tuning these
I think its more a thing of blue WA needing some help rather than red WA needing another nerf. Its hard to know how impactful will the red WA nerf will be, but the round start WA into breaking the wall with a second WA was a thing mainly for red ones. I thought maybe blue WA could get a dash cancel so you could do more stuff out of it, but I'm unsure if that would help Milia in any way for example.
As much as I will miss DP RC as a defensive options, as a Sol player Im kind of happy its gone. Now I dont have to deal with blocking DP into 50/50 from Bridget, Leo and Chipp, even if I also lose a get out of jail free card vs most safejumps (if they dont DP/throw/super OS). This patch made throw a lot weaker, but downback and wait way stronger, so I think Im pretty happy as Sol.
@@sauceinmyface9302 Yes. Thing is, Sol actually fights against negative on-block pressure really well, especially if the opponent's back is to the wall. The reasons for this are a long list but to brutally simplify it he has fast buttons with good frame data and a lot of health for a character that can dashblock. So he doesn't actually mind doing stuff like close Slash into downback and wait or far Slash walk back. When mixed in with pressure resets and throws, this creates a very scary situation for the opponent, forcing them to challenging Sol with their buttons. And that's exactly what Sol wants you to start doing, since his best damage is from a Counterhit or a close Slash normal hit. This is kind of an advanced strategy though, this only works as well as it does against people who know how to fight Sol already, since passive defensive options like FD and fuzzy jump are very good against Sol, but they don't let you directly challenge pressure resets and Sol staying in your face cranking your risc until he either builds meter for a BR FRC high low 50/50 or catching fuzzy jump at high risk with a frame trap.
I actually liked wild assault giving hkd on wallbreak. Would have preferred they just decreased or removed the burst regen on positive bonus so it felt like an actual resource commitment.
Wouldn’t she be a bigger loser since she can’t guarantee knockdown from wall as often? You could use wild assault for hkd and then use the meter for mix. But I’m not a Millia main so idk
