And what did you want her to do? Put an angry face to a gift from the emperor? And considering empress Fuca personality the reason of her happines was more likely for the fact she received more than the concubines, an status matter. She always had an inferiority complex since the wife selection. That combined with her proud personality made her resentful person who hated when a concubine had certain things she considered were "main wives privileges" like giving birth to the oldest son, being gifted with rare and scarce fabrics, spending the night with the emperors in dates of the moon calendar that were by tradition given to the empress (this was due to a belief that conception was stronger during certain lunar phases), being given power to assist in the administration of the six palaces, etc. She schemed, hurted and in some cases killed concubines who received those kind of privileges.
