All of this just totally amazes me. I'm 70 years old and would have never had any idea there could be something like this. We had high winds and sleat last night and thought we would lose our electricity and have no heat.By the grace of God we made it through. Thanks for sharing your wonderful knowledge. Just amazing.
A wife and 4 kids with two fridges, a freezer, HVAC, computers, electric dryer, etc. I average 24 kwh each day. The website lists these for around $4500/each. You can get a freaking nice invertor generator for that much that will run much longer times. So I could not see this as an economical back up solution. You would need 4 or 5 of these with the right hybrid solar system to make them really useful for home power. It doesn't look like they are really any cheaper than powerwalls. The nice thing about powerwalls is with two of them, I can run both my HVAC and my 4000 watt dryer at the same time and it has an auto transfer feature that will switch from grid to battery in a tenth of a second or so which is fast enough to keep my computer on and not have to reset all of my clocks. It may be a decent replacement for powerwalls, but I don't know all of the functionality of these. I certainly wouldn't get one just as a backup generator.
It's not economical but it is a turnkey solution for those who don't want to involve an inverter, connecting grid power, battery bank, bus bars, fibre cement board backing, cabling etc. Yes you pay a lot more but it's a single unit and under a single warranty - ideal for those who'd rather not get their hands dirty.
Is that a 120V dryer? Most dryers I've seen are 240v split-phase so I wouldn't expect this generator to successfully power it. Typically you need two of these with synchronized phases to provide 240v split phase.
People need to understand it’s a solar generator. You need solar panels to utilize this at it’s true potential. It’s a renewable source of energy that’s free. That’s what everyone is missing. No gas can or propane needed. Even on cloudy days you’ll get power. Even during snow ❄️ you will get some power collection. Most people understand that during true emergencies you prioritize power usage and cut out nonessential items. Even frig and freezers can be cut on and off at intervals to conserve power usage. So much criticism about something that is truly game changer. I love my solar generators. They are quiet, powerful, and clean energy. I purchased this unit as well as others during their kickstarter campaigns. Never been disappointed. You can always add more batteries 🔋 by plugging them into the solar port. Keep it within the stated voltage and watts and you can really expand at a reasonable cost.
Question; the EZ generator switch in an earlier video, to power only one furnace fan for a couple of days, what power supply would you recommend. Of course I'd run the furnace only occasionally. Thanks !
Probably a smaller 1000-1500w power station. Personally this one did awesome and I’m going to keep this one for sure: www.amazon.com/dp/B0BDYTJYJ1/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_dl_J7W7JRZ3ZV2VK2SXDG9B?linkCode=ml2&tag=wasatchmoto0d-20
jwalbrig--MAKE SURE that your EZ Generator Transfer Switch is RE-WIRED (2 min) to use a power supply using an inverter. Otherwise, when you use the EZ Switch with a power station --it ill not work (unit recognizes two neutrals--not possible--so it shuts off.) You must convert' the EZ Switch for a 'floating" neutral. PS--that one white wire gets 'tied" to the other white neutral wires. Any questions, email Kevin: KEVIN at EZ Switch shows you: ua-cam.com/video/gVbUWCCt0D4/v-deo.html
@@kennethwood2089 Thank you. Just considering this at this point. We just don't get power losses of more than a few minutes. Many of the power lines are underground in neighborhoods. Power is lost when someone digs inappropriately with big machinery.
the Dryer experiment is cute, but totally useless, no one needs a clothes dryer during Emergency Power Outages. I already have my home set up with professional Transfer Panel Switch adjacent to the Utility Grid power meter... I have a 10KVA AuxGen that I manually start, it will run 8 hours on a tank of non-ethanol gasoline. Or, much longer on 20 gallons of propane. in the last 15 years, we have only had one power outage that lasted longer than 10 hours, we did not use the AC to cool the home, the house temp only rose about 10*F in that time... those little power packs are neat for those who don't have a clue about Electricity... but for a Farm raised kiddo, at 81 y/o now, I will stay with my Aux Gen
Not true. I have one along with solar and it runs consistently even with clouds. Same with my Titan. I over panel it and it runs without a problem. People just don’t understand how solar can be utilized to it’s full potential.
Interlock is to prevent power from utility hitting the bus bars, with the generator inlet feeding power into those same bus bars aka how the breakers get electricity. It's a hell of a thing to see head to head. Not safe at all. Remember to call that a generator inlet as it is letting power into it.
and how much are this power station? About $5,000 ? Well, nice, but I'll stick with my $500 generator which runs not 11 hours, but as long as I as add gasoline to it.
Nice infomercial. These are almost $3000 each. This is big money... that will take years to pay for itself. Not sure why i need this given I have not lost power for any length of time for 10 years.
Some people have a use for it some don't. It seems every DIY home person does one of these at some point regardless of their specialty. Silver Cymbal, Everyday Home Repairs, etc.
Feels sponsored. I got lucky and paid $200 4000W (3300W running) for an, American made, gas generator a few years ago. Why would I spend thousands on this? I like your channel, but I don't understand what happened here.
They did send out this product. I told them I’d do a video for it. In the past a lot of people have been interested in power stations so I figured what the heck. That’s also why at the end I said a lot can’t afford this so check out using your car as a generator 👍🏼 cheers

Yeah, the TT-30 is only providing a single 120 V phase.
Clothes lines are free 😁
@@CN073 and not much use in the winter time

Can this thing be used as a UPS? I only need to power small but critical devices, like modem and router.
Thanks! Great channel. ❤
you need five of those to do it right
Re: need five...
Just make it six and call it a do
$27,000 plus tax
I WANT this!
1:41 Those are all standard outlets in the US, you just don't see them everywhere.

Thank you. Considering if I need it at all. In 20 years I think this small city as never lost power for more than an hour

You need to run that plug to the inside so you don't have to put the battery unit outside.

Your talking about $5,000 with the 2 units and it only last 11 hours. If you conserve power you will only get a day or 2 of power out of it.
