Can’t most dragon’s turn into humanoid forms Or is it just the Aspects and their children? Maybe all (or most) of these shadowy figures are part of the Infinite Dragonflight and they figured out they could alter history better if they didn’t try to walk up to us looking like mobs to kill lol. My bet is they’re going to do some event that ties the current different versions of wow together. That’d be sick.
It’s paladin specific, but there also been TWO instances now of former paladins trying to convince players and the Paladins of stormwind to convert to shadow magic: Ada Gelhart in p1 (seal of martyr rune) and Aeonus in p2 (sheath of light rune) Aeonus will also permanently be added in the SW cathedral after finishing his chain, and talks about a missing “friend” that we’ll probably look for in p3 COINCIDENTALLY, Aeonus is also the name of the last boss of Black Morass in TBC, a member of the infinite Dragonflight, so it could be ANOTHER time traveling character in SoD

He talks about an upcoming threat to the world due to the mysterious void orbs youve been collecting during P1 and P2 that he feels that needs to be stopped even though during this time the death knights are still bound by the Lich King. Somehow he managed to break free and tasks the player paladin to gather materials for a ritual but winds up trying to sacrifice you as the last ingredient but Aeonas intervenes and kills his friend.

0:20 About Illari Duskfeather, that brought me an interesting memory. I joined WoW in March 2004 with patch 0.5.6, although by that time just had a forum account, still didn't have a key to play the beta. The most heated topics at that time were about why the Forsaken and the Kaldorei were joining the Horde and the Alliance, respectively, and some people were furious about how Blizzard was destroying the lore. Considering that the sleeping bag is also a remnant of the removed survivalism profession (campfires, torches and tents), I'd not be surprised if they went through some archive of the old forums to gather ideas for SoD.
Went in as Meta form on lock main a few days back since I fell behind. Second toon did it just last night, caster druid, went in at 32 and then realized what I was saying to her LOL.

with boarton shadetotem i think it wouldve been funny if they JUST FOR THIS SPECIFIC REASON gave him a retail tauren modell to further drive home the fact that he is from the future
Only if the beginning of the quest dialogue reads: "You stand in awe of this Tauren's graphical fidelity. His texture resolution, poly-count, and animation rig must be at least a decade ahead of yours. Is he some sort of god, or did he receive the blessing of one? Perhaps he has spent his life in pursuit of the total perfection and unity of body, mind, and soul, and this is the result. They could fix it having the NE or Tyrande being distrustful of humans and dwarves but they had no other choice like the same way Orcs and taurens were with the undead or Gimli and Legolas

Well vanilla was so intriguing because it was filled with little mysteries and build up to events that hadn't been written yet. It's when they try to give answers or write those events that it all goes to hell. It happened immediately with Burning Crusade and excepting the Lich King conclusion being alright, pretty much just got worse the less hype-building material they had to pillage from Classic and the RTS games. Don't worry, I'm sure War Within will do its best to squander all sense of intrigue and suspense built up by Season of Discovery as fast as possible. We're fighting a knife with a generic NE model they needed 2 MASSIVE plotholes to bring into existence, after all.
