Moira might be one of the smartest characters in Warcraft she realizes she can get the player characters to do anything she wants by promising treasure in a dungeon
Do you think Ragnaros says "Taste the flames of Sulfuron!" because he's actually a BBQ enthusiast, and we just misunderstand him out of our greed to take his loot?
The whole "misunderstood monsters" part is great. Everyone of a set of people fights in a war for their people, not because they're some evil creature. Marvelous bit of lore right there, thanks for that.
I watch ALOT of WoW lore videos and i gotta say these videos really stand out and are really entertaining!! The comedy and editing/animation are really unique and do a great job of setting themselves in there own style than lore videos from people like Nobble Nixiom and MadSeason! Keep it up :) subbed, liked, and bell has been rung son!!
I know this is about Blackrock Mountain but the Dark Irons' efforts won't entirely wasted on Grim Batol. Mogdud happened to have Xal'Atath (the shadowpriest dagger that was used to set Nzoth free but then later kill him) and used its power to corrupt it and that's why Wildhammers are shaman and live in hobbit houses.
IDK if that bit about her leaking that MC was full of epic loot is true but it works so well. "they killed my husband for loot? I know just how to fix this..."
That is actual lore - she basically employed adventurer's for free to solve her Firelord in the basement problem. If only her husband had thought of doing that while he was alive...
There used to be a complex quest path you could take to *not* kill Moira, this was part of the very long questline to unlock Molten Core, because by default in the dungeon BRD she fights alongside him and dies resulting in a different ending if you then proceeded to hand in the quest after (this was the default ending), you had to do a long questline and do certain actions within the dungeon to make sure he is defended by a priestess instead of Moira, most players just cheesed it and tried to kill him without doing damage to her which was a painful process since she healed him the whole time during the fight, you basically had to out damage her healing and grind down the boss. After which a mysterious figure shows up and offers the player a new quest which offered an alternate ending to the events which this time *required* you to keep her alive. If you succeeded the first time you didn't get this quest. Players often did both because the second quest awarded EXP and 5 gold (which was worth it at the time). This triggered an in game world event which played out where she returned to her father and proclaimed that she was now the ruler of the Black Iron Dwarves and was there to proclaim a formal peace treaty, this unlocked the MC attunement as she gives you a flaming core key used to access the entrance via the external portal, no longer requiring individual groups of 5 to enter and form a raid via the dungeon. I remember a lot of people got trolled by their parties without their parties even realising this by killing Moira thus messing up their quest chain to unlock MC. When the attunement system was removed just before BC released it was changed to MC being unlocked as soon as you finished the dungeon and clicked on the portal and rescuing Moira became a side quest and she no longer came to the aid of Dagran during the fight and from that point onwards it was always the priestess.
The Cho-gall negotiation thing is a later retcon in Chronicles 2. Originally the Horde just busted in and pushed the Dark Irons into the depths. Which explained why they were at war with each other in Classic a lot better. I think my friend said Chronicle 3 doesn't even MENTION them being at war with each other.
I mean... that wouldn't have made much sense lore-wise though, since Dark Iron dwarves are literally enemies of Ironforge/Bronzebeard dwarves, so just having them jump around in the dwarven starting zone would be... curious, to say the least.
1:55 the council of seven powerful spell casters when there are some thats a Tank, Arms Warrior, and Rogue when you kill their ghosts in BRM.... probably why they ended up summon the wrong thing but Ragnaros
So when Azeroth faced annihilation by an elemental force of destruction - they basically just outsourced the problem, and didn't even have to pay for it.
@@dirkdiggler8093 I mean he was using later Retail Era lore for the Cho'Gall negotiation part, it could be super vanilla purists who don't like that retcon who are angry.
I just love how engaging these videos are. I watched this video not too long ago, and watched it again today and is still as engaging as the first time
Interesting note the rare Dire Troll outside of BRD got a model update in BFA that makes it look like he's made of stone, so maybe he was a golem designed to spy on the Dark Horde by imitating one of the Smotherthorn or Firetree Dire Trolls.

Yeah right, i'm not buying that Moira act. The guy has been trying to conspirate the way out for its people, instead of begging for the other clans to help, which would honestly be the only course of action when your entire people is enslaved to a primal deity of litteral fire. Buuut noooo, instead let's soil the memory of the City main benefactor, and add injury to insult by attempting to blow up its second piece of work, let's also assure the victory of the undead forsaken up north by cutting supply lines, let's ally ourselves with the twilight hammer. His course of action was pretty close to the worst thing he could even bring up, and he did anyway.
