Loving the brown vibe Liane, I think brown ink is really underrated and love my brown inks. The Tsukushi looks lovely, shame it is discontinued, I keep toying with getting some Yama-guru. The wearingeul stone cutters song looks quite like Herbin cacao du bresil. I am an upright writing angle person too and find my pilot custom74 great, my sailor pro gear slim and also my esterbrook estie
Yay!!!! ERHIT! 😅 pro great MFs are literally one of the best nib writing experience out there! And that rosy color ink you paired is perfect for such a sailor pen name, the fact that it’s a milky white light blue pen makes it match almost any ink! So happy you’ve found your Sailor love!

Larmes de Cassis is very pretty and seemed to flow beautifully in the Sailor pen. Pro Gear is out of my league but I'm thinking about trying the Lecoule. Many seems to like them. And I do like the fluffy cloud swatches. 🥰
I loved this impromptu check in! I love dry inks in my pilot, I swear that pen can handle any ink. Are you able to write with yours in an upright angle?? I write the same way and can write naturally with both the TRC and Pilot pen. I am so tempted to buy the black Pilot Custom 823, It would be so nice to have a different ink color and the same pen style every month😅
The more I write with my 823, the more comfortable it gets. It's becoming on my faves! If you can, you should get another 823. :) If it's your absolute favorite, makes sense to get another one and have it inked with a different color.
Thanks for the video which I've enjoyed. You got me interested in J Herbin inks. Could I ask if they tend to run a little drier compared to Pilot Iroshizuku inks?
I am loving your pen lineup! Stonecutters Song reminds me of two other inks, Kyo-Iro 01 Stone Road of Gion and also BPC Weathered Papyrus. Both are beautiful and perform well. My first time here. Very nice segment! I'm a newcomer to fountain pens. The Traveler's was my first pen and I still find it one of the most comfortable to write with, narrow girth and all. (Granted, I only have 8 pens. So far.) And my first ink was De Atramentis Document Brown (because I feared losing what I wrote... over that now!). Found I really enjoy brown inks, so this piece was right up my alley. Herbin Terre de Feu is on my wish list and I think these will join it. Larme de Cassis is gorgeous, too.
Some pens that are a must try at the Chicago Pen Show will be a Sailor PGS, Pilot 823 and Platinum 3776. Stonecutters song has been one of my favorite inks since I started in my fountain pen journey. I had a sample and then bought the bottle. I have it inked up for March😊
I definitely like the cloud swatches better than the round ones. I also write fairly upright, I do not yet have any Sailors in my collection but I'll keep an eye out for a good deal to give them a shot. I do struggle forcing my hand more flat sometimes, it can be quite uncomfortable. I naturally write very strange, with my thumb shooting out? and the pen grip more resting on the meat of my thumb vs being guided by my thumb. Idk I'm the only one I've seen write this way. but it doesn't work with fountain pens 😅

Yes, they do! But they don't carry the 9107, unfortunately. I'm tempted to try one of their larger formats in 2025.

They are both fine nibs but I actually just sold it! I found they were so similar that it didn't make sense to keep both.
