    man, I envy everyone in US, I lived in Thailand where there are "Zero" incentive for EV, + 150%++ import tax make this car cost as much as Porsche 911. The best environmental friendly commute option for me is to ride an elephant to work -_-'

      watcharapon srikun sorry to hear that. Well we also have no more incentives to buy electric vehicles either. Thanks to trump they discontinued any incentives. Same thing in most of Canada. In Europe things are much better. The prices will go down because as they make more they will become less expensive. The batteries were the most expensive parts. They are mass producing them and the prices will drop. The technology is improving at the same time. So be patient and wait for improvements and better prices and hopefully everyone will be driving electric vehicles one day and we can breathe the air a lot better.

    In most other countries we don't have slacker so we get Spotify. so it's simply a negotiation that needs to take place in the US. and I agree the rain sensing is near on useless. Whenever it rains I need to manually adjust the settings. Everything else for me is great. I can't imagine having anything other than a Tesla now (I have had an S and currently have an X)

      @Dave, agreed... The insane part is that the Tesla's will continue to improve with software. We got lucky with the M3-P and you just can't beat it as it performs like an exotic and costs half the price. I've never had a car where I can dictate what I want and where I want to go on the freeway. Factor in (Total Cost of Ownership) and the Tesla's are a bargain...

    I've had mine for 6 month now and have had ZERO issues! One thing that I can point out is that it is too easy to scrape the wheels on the passenger side! I think that if Tesla would activate the side cameras, that it would help a lot! Otherwise, great car! I'm 64 years old, and I can say that so far that this is the best car that I have ever owned!

      Fully concur! Within a month of having mine, I put two curb rashes on the rear passenger wheel. They could add TWO improvements: only dip the passenger side rear view mirror in reverse (what's the point of dipping the diver's side?!), and use the side rear camera to augment the rear view display, possibly with a PiP display of the rear tire. That would be easy to add in software, and sooo useful.

    I never got the concern over the speedometer not being behind the steering wheel. Many cars have this off-center dashboard (like older model Toyota Yaris and some Fiats I think) I've driven in cars like that for years it never bothered me...
    In fact, now that I'm driving a car with a 'conventional' speedometer again I feel like the steering wheel blocks the view on it sometimes, which is annoying... Never had that problem when the speedometer was off-center.

    • @poloalando3270
      @poloalando3270 5 років тому +2

      It’s true. But the reason why Tesla did this is because the autonomous industry is almost near the end to roll out the full self driving capability, that’s why tesla refused for physical buttons to be used more and to put in the HUD.

      It still wouldn't have done any harm to add in the essentials, even if it's only light and heating. It's not as if you're sat looking at them while you'r'e driving. I also don't think computer technology is stable enough for it to happen for a long time, hell we don't even have self driving trains yet and you would imagine those to be a thousand times safer than any car journey.

    We've had ours for 6mos as well. Agree with it all in your review. It's crazy how much fun it is to own, "Every f*&ing day!". The only other car that I've owned that was this much fun was an old CJ-7, back in college(center gauges too). The booming stereo and torque just make the car. I never got into Nav in other cars, as it seemed like an add-on, slow and small. Not in the 3, it's totally integrated and intuitive and obviously easy to see. On road trips it allows for those that like physical maps to (as a passenger) look around and see what you might be passing (hey, there's a big ass lake over there). Range is pretty darn good, and Supercharging is stupid-simple. We actually like slowing down/eating/getting out a bit, on longer trips. Thanks, man for your review -

Everytime I go back to my car at a supercharger (model s) I can't help but get distracted by that. It feels like it breaks the fluid and simplistic nature of the dashboard. You have a nice looking car. Thanks for the insight.
    The fact that you are a fanboy even after 6-months is telling.
    As a gear-head, I'm fine with my manual-transmissioned ICE; I've been driving those all of my life. I hate automatic transmissions. But my wife has been wanting a Tesla for about six months, now. Her car's transmission (automatic, GM) is on its last leg, and she doesn't like all the maintenance.
    I told her that a used Leaf would be good for her -- no transmission woes, no oil changes, etc. But she doesn't want a Leaf .. She wants a Tesla !!

Yes the credit is halfed for the first half of 2019, but i guarantee Tesla will reduce prices by about 3k anyway during the first few months of 2019. They charge 2k for paint, absolutely unecessary to charge that much for paint. $500 for special paint is the norm so they'll start to discount paint options. They might discount autopilot by a little bit too. Once they start offering the standard range option they'll discount the long range version by a bit as well to try to incentivize people to pay for that model as the margins are bigger on those versions.
