Apple Music lossless sound quality is way better than compressed spotify.
Apple also has dolby spatial audio surround sound.

    • @Äpple-pie-5k
      @Äpple-pie-5k 3 місяці тому

Fun fact, TIDAL is better than both. Apple doesn't give you lossless in all contexts. Still way better than Spotify as it's downsampling/upsampling at a quality level much higher than Spotify. But getting lossless on TIDAL is not a nightmare like Apple Music. In addition, the artists get a lot more of the money instead of them getting micro-pennies and the fat cat$ taking it all. In other words it sustains the creators.

I mean when they add lossless audio. The prices may go up a dollar or two. Maybe can't confirm but they just might do that. Also, if spotify would just do some redesigning to their app and make their lyrics a bit more like apples where it focuses on the lyric currently being sung, and added lossless, I wouldn't have any complaints.

Long time apple user switched over in January and i have to say i am not especially dazzled by Spotify and i am still on the fence.
    - I am not a fan of how Spotify latches onto certain songs and flogs the sh*t out of them.
    - Even the generated playlists/ radio start to seem awfully repetitive… seems to pick popular songs from a given genre and they show up again and again.
    - Streaming quality is a step down
+ I will admit though that its ability to discover new music is superior to Apple. Truth be told i found UA-cam Music better than both Apple and Spotify at finding new music though.
+ More people use Spotify in terms of sharing music.
    - Spotifys app is incredibly clunky, Apple Music seems far more intuitive and built better.

Unlike most of the people on the internet, I'm not a fan of the Spotify algorithm. It only plays the same songs I love at the time. When I play "Chop Suey!" by SOAD it plays "Otherside" by RHCP and "Another Brick in The Wall pt 2" by Pink Floyd and it pisses me off when it plays songs unrelated to the song I'm listening to like I want to listen to metal but it plays me rock songs.
Today, I accidentally started a free trial for Apple Music and thoght "why don't I give it a try?". I know it's too early to talk, but imo Apple Music's suggestions are WAY better than Spotify's. I played Chop Suey again and it played artists like KoRn, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold etc. And it's only my first day on the app. Like I said before, it's too early to talk but for now I love Apple Music more than Spotify.
I love UA-cam Music's algorithm too, and I always say that. But its recommendations were more popular and less related songs(it played Metallica and Black Sabbath after Chop Suey) compared to AM.
Also I love its UI too. It's not that professional compared to Spotify. But artists' pages are more organised imo. Also it has some pretty good designs like the lyrics tab, queue etc. And they look smoother compared to Spotify.

  • @colinpowda

UA-cam Music by far, by far the best at recommendation. It just brings songs that I forgotten long time ago but fits perfectly that I really want to listen to at the time I am listening. Also, it uses youtube for music that has been recorded only as a video but not as a published music. It is by far the best of all. Not only that, when you get UA-cam music, UA-cam becomes ad-free. Now that is a no-brainer. Spotify or Apple music cannot even come close.

Nice video but I think you missed a big advantage from Apple Music (at least for the way I use it). That is the music videos available in Apple Music, especially for the Apple TV. There are so many MV’s in their library, I have tons of video playlists and they also have great concerts available. I know you can see these on UA-cam, but they come with ads or you need to pay an additional fee, where Apple Music includes it.

How archaic...I digitized 1000's of CDs and vinyl records. My daughters ask why - in some cases it is specific music - a version with a particular solo, or songs that get deleted off Apple Music or songs not available on the USA streaming, or older music that was never digitized. I rely on Spotify connect a lot. It's really frustrating that they haven't managed to get us better quality streaming yet but the fact is, every time I try and leave Spotify, I can't get any other service to do better than about 70% of my songs. I don't listen to a lot of mainstream music so some of my more obscure or rare tracks just aren't available elsewhere. That may have changed as I've not tried to migrate in a few months but for now, I'll stick with Spotify and pray that they get us hi-fi quality streaming.

Spotify always had better algorithms for finding my music. Apple has been catching up recently. Most importantly there is some great Apple human curated music that has been enlightening. There was a great interview with the remaining Doors members reminiscing over LA Woman and playing their favourite tracks. It was like a director’s commentary. Getting the same with other great bands now. The crowning glory for Apple though was their recent Top 100 Albums of all time. Rolling Stone used to do this but it was almost impossible to get the list in streaming. Overall both Spotify and Apple are great. Apple clearly has a bigger budget and it seems Cook is an audiophile. There have been some major leaps in Apple, including smarter algorithms, Dolby Atmos (spooky when it sounds like Mick Jagger is standing next to me with Keef playing on my other side), Loseless and the aforementioned human inspired content. I’ve switched to Apple now because I’m in the ecosystem, but I was very happy to use Spotify too. There are rewards in putting all your music through one service though so the algos learn.

The Spotify recommendations is the worst recommendations I’ve ever seen. For 2 years they had suggesting me the music I already knew, or it’s music from my favourites, or even it’s music I completely disliked. There is no way I can discover something new by using Spotify.
Also, the main disadvantage for me was that you can’t play ALL your songs like 1 playlist. You can’t play album without 1 or 2 songs, without additional playlist creation. You can’t play all the songs you liked from some artist without additional playlist creation. I have favourites, I have different albums saved, I have lots of my personal playlists and I can’t play them all together without be forced to mark every single songs like favourite or creating a new playlist with all my playlists combined.
    And of course:
