Hey Jen, my pittie girl also takes Apoquel and has for years. It took me forever to narrow down her allergens and the top one is actually chicken. If you've never cut all poultry from Milo's diet to see if it helps, I highly recommend it. So many people think dogs are allergic to grains when they aren't, and statistically it's much more common for them to react to the protein, especially itchy pitties. I actually had to go to vet tech school before I learned that. Anyway, I just thought I'd mention it in case it helped since it took me 2 years of trial and error! She's still itchy but not NEARLY as bad
Thank you so much for your video. I love your meal and snack ideas, they really help me change up what I am doing in my kitchen. Also your mix of partially prepared food and from scratch is a refreshing balance. I just don’t prioritize babysitting a sourdough starter in my life right now, but I do appreciate a fresh warm loaf once in a while. Not making my family’s food from scratch holds a lot of guilt for me. Again, your mix of scratch and prepared is so helpful and refreshing. It makes me feel better, thank you.
Great video Jen! I love Lasagna and make it every Christmas Eve. This year I am going to make it in two 8 x 8 foil pans the first week in December and freezer, then just take them out a couple of days before the holiday. I want to have a little stress free holiday this year.
Love your videos! You can pick up casserole and baking dishes at yard sales and thrift stores and use them for the dinners you deliver. The recipient can keep the dish - like a little extra gift.
Fyi Jen; i buy in bulk foil pans13×9 and 8×8 on amazon constantly...when on sale $1.00 or less a pan😊i always have them for messy, greasy items so no clean up, besides for pot lucks❤
Jen!!! Get the apoquel at Costco!! At my vet it’s $125, when I get them at the Costco pharmacy they’re $61!! Makes it much more cost effective for my itchy dog :)
It's 12:30am..Just sat down to watch UA-cam..and here you are Jen..very happy to see you..ooh Tony Chachere's jambalaya..never seen that..love the seaoning..gonna have to try it ..thanks for another great video❤
Great video, Jen💕 😃 I wanted to let you know that that Tony’s chocolate company I used to only be able to find in Whole Foods now you can find them other places, but you should look up the story of the company . journalist came to expose the industry of child labor, and they decided to make their own chocolate company😍 and there’s also a reason why the chocolate bars are cut as they are❤
When I shop from Walmart which is rarely, I do the grocery pick up which keeps me in check and it's easy to do. I do most of my shopping at Kroger for what is on sale and Food Lion for what is on sale. Kroger has grocery pick up and I use that sometimes. I live too far out in the country to get delivery from anybody. If I shop sales I get a much better deal than shopping at Walmart.
Hi Jen 👋. This was another great video, I loved the haul it’s great seeing all the different things you buy. There are so many items i have never eaten mainly because of food allergies 😢. I think that’s why I enjoy watching you cook because you have such a variety. I would watch you if you were just sitting in a chair talking, I find you have such a wonderful personality it’s like I am right there with you. I hope that didn’t sound stupid I always have trouble putting my thoughts into a text message. I am a talker lol 😂. Hugs 🤗
A lot of good ideas I got from this video. I am going to try the Amy's and Chef Ramsay frozen entrees if not outrageously priced and the pork fritters. I will check out the Wild Grains, not sure that I will indulge the $$ i expect it will be but it would be a great gift for my mom... Don't indulge for self much. But gifting I do.
Another great video. I love how you're stepping up your channel; I know how it's easy to get in a run. It would be great to see some tast tests with products from the store. Keep up the good work! 😋💕
Do you have any advice for making dinners? I have a toddler and work full time and I feel like I only have enough energy/time to make Mac and cheese and frozen foods. I know it's not good for me but I'm just worn out by the time dinner comes around.
My dog Zeus used to take apoquel (he passed a few years ago), but since he only had to take half a pill a day, I'd get 15 from chewy and cut them in half myself lol. And he would only take them in the greenies too. Everything looks delicious! I love these videos. ❤
I just love & enjoy all ur videos Jen been watching u forever 💞 U make such good yummy meals I'm going to try making my Lasagna with the noodles u did in this video , it looks easier n I need easier fast meals in my life lately ty for sharing this ...Have a great wk...❤
Fun fact on the apple butter you bought! The “musselmans” brand makes different canned apple products, and its first plant orginated in my hometown in West Virginia! The owners (Mr. Musselman) was a giving man, and supported the local high school and community. They ended up naming the school after him! I graduated from Musselman High School, and our mascot is a “Appleman”! 😂😂
Our Weimaraner takes apoquel also , we use 1/2 a tablet daily ,it is so expensive like you said , have you tried the cytopoint injection for allergies ? It’s given according to weight about every 8-12 weeks , you’ll be able to tell when it starts to wear off , may be an option for you if Milo doesn’t like to take pills 🤷♀️, we have to do the pills and an injection about every 12 weeks for our Lola 😬
@@Jen-Chapin yes they are! But hopefully they last for years! I’m tired of investing tons of money on pots and pans and then in 5-10 years I have to replace them due to chipping. Which I know isn’t good for us to cook and eat off of
Once again, I find myself staying up late for an amazing Jen Chapin video! With no regrets! 🧑🍳 Thanks for showing us a wide range of recipes with a mix of raw and convenience ingredients--it really help expand my ideas and palate, too! Also, congrats on the new wok! It's such a useful tool and Adam was really awesome to get you one. 🍳
Yes my dog is on apoquel. It is so dang expensive. My other dog has allergies too. Not as bad as the other dog. I can’t afford 2 dogs taking those meds.
My son has severe ADHD..and during school he was always chewing gum..have seen a lot of research suggesting that chewing helps with concentration..not just the ones with ADHD but all students..if my son didn't have gum..he would chew on his pencils..straws ..at home he even chewed on the wires of game controlers..chewed ice until I thought he would break off his teeth..😢 He's 24 now and hasn't chewed on anything now for a couple of years
My frenchie takes Apoquel. It's the only thing that has helped her skin allergies. She takes 1/2 chewable daily. Luckily, she thinks it's a treat. It's about $50 a month but she weighs about 30 lbs
It does take money to buy food. Times are hard for people now. Both our vehicles are down and even getting to the store is difficult. We are so grateful for a garden in spite of the drought and a stocked pantry. Some folks are really struggling getting food.
I believe commenter omitted half of their comment. It is only because you have a lot of money…that for years you have donated so many meals for those in need. How much is the smallest box at wildgrains?
Does your Walmart have their “homemade” tortillas in their bakery? They are pretty good. The burrito size make great wraps.
