take out the cucumbers from the bag. roll them with paper towels. if they are minis, i can fit 3 cukes in a half sheet of paper towel. make sure they are separated by the paper and not touching each other. store them in a glass container in the fridge. they will last more than a week. or you can put them back in their original bag after wrapping them in the paper.
I’m also not a bread making momma. Hats off to those that are passionate about it though. Give me a toasted brioche bun with a bacon cheddar burger topped with Claussen Kosher Dill sandwich sliced pickles , lettuce , mayo and Dijon mustard and I’m happy. 😃
i’ve always loved your vlogmas videos over the years! I’ve probably been watching you for five or six years. I found you years ago when I tried the keto diet I believe that’s how a lot of us found your channel.
Hi Jen! I’m going to be catching up on your last few videos that I’ve missed and am really happy about spending the time with you! I will be starting with your haul (love it!!!) then moving backwards. I did see your Epcot one and really enjoyed it.Thanks for always cheering me up❤😊
Heck yeah! A Chapin video to watch while I wind down from the day. Thanks for sharing--it's like you're hella telepathic or something! Love seeing the variety in the haul. Walmart really does carry quite an array of products and even though their prices have increased over the years, they're still cheaper than other major supermarkets and even Target. Their utility really can't be understated. Lemon chicken is A1, by the way. Goes with everything. 🍗🍋 Thank you for the amazing Vlogmas experience so far! Your hard work is paying off. 💪
I believe the lemon chicken recipe you make is called Chicken Piccata. It's an old recipe that's been around for a long time. I make it often and it's my favorite chicken recipe. There are several chicken piccata recipes with different ingredients. My recipe is very similar to yours. I use about 2 lbs. chicken breasts cut into strips. I use a meat mallet and pound them until they are thinner. I put flour, salt and pepper in a bowl and dip the chicken pieces in the flour until they are coated. Heat 1 TB. oil and 1 TB. butter in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the chicken pieces for 3 minutes on the first side, then turn and brown the other side for 3 minutes. It doesn't take long because the chicken pieces are thinner. Repeat with the rest of the chicken, adding additional oil and butter as needed. Transfer chicken on a plate and cover with aluminum foil. Mix 1/4 cup lemon juice and 3/4 cup chicken broth and pour into skillet, scraping up any brown pieces of chicken. (I like a lot of the lemon sauce, so I always double the amount). Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 5 minutes. If you want a thicker sauce, more like a gravy, add a slurry of flour and water and add to the mixture. Then you add the chicken pieces back into the sauce. I love to serve this over rice. It has a nice lemony flavor. I don't always have fresh lemons, so I use bottled lemon juice.
Hello from South Florida 🏝️🏝️I love that chicken dish . Jen look up on the Food Network’s Giadas De Laurentlls recipe for chicken piccata. I make it it all the time looks like chicken piccata. You need to add the capers And freshparsley. it’s so yummy. Really enjoyed your Epcot trip in the last video 😍🎄🎄🎄
Made me laugh when you were talking about Diet Coke being your vice. Im the same way with my Mountain Dew Zero Sugar. It makes me happy and I’m not hurting anyone 😂😂
That lemon chicken looks delicious 😋. I had those new pringle's snacks, they're good. I watched one of your videos, where you were tamales. It would be nice, if the two of you could share some of your mom's recipes. But one of you could imitate Mary Stewart and Ina Garten ( I love them both) By the way I just love your channel, you're one of my favorites 😊
Thanx Jen. For my baby cucumbers I take out of bag and let them sit on counter to dry. (They are always wet). Then after I wash off, dry, cut up and store with paper towel in air tight container.
Your dinner looks delicious! We always do Lawry's (has to be Lawry's) lemon and pepper seasoning on chicken breast and grill them - splash of lemon at the end! Out of this world good!
When I see high priced good foods like raspberries, I just think well I’m buying less “ junk” or processed foods in place. Like you, I’m on a semiglutide (Wegovy) so I justify the price of good food. I’m going to try that lemon chicken…looks delicious!
Your 2nd mom here 🙋🏼♀️here in Florida. I loooove 😊peppermint patties. I knew we were kin somehow 😂 me too with the conditioner I have long thick hair so yes on more conditioner 🙌🏼😌
Yup ….I buy 2 conditioners for every 1 bottle of shampoo….I’ve always had to do that 😂. I love Pringles chips so I bought the mingles and I wasn’t impressed 😬 they really didn’t have much flavour in my opinion but maybe your kids will like them 😊
You can things for the pantry and I actually make sourdough. I find us working- mamas have to pick and choose our priorities because we can’t do it all.
Ok, weird. We have them regularly available at our Walmart just north of Dayton. Maybe it’s a farm community thing. You guys get better pizza though. 😉
When I buy produce at Walmart it does last as long my local grocery store. It could be just coincidence, but after a few days it’s yucky. Especially those little cucumbers.
and to talk about your GLP one journey I have PCOS and have struggled to lose weight to my entire adult. Life struggled with other PCOS symptoms, including population and aGLP1 medication is the only medicine that has ever helped me with any of my symptoms, including weight loss and population so to the next players and the haters shove it!
I freaking love a breakfast scramble. 😂😂

I do the same thing and it works great!
Thanks, Jen! 🎄
If you like peppermint brownies, you can layer the peppermint patties in the batter. So good!

BLTs are always my emergency/go to dinner if I’m tired or clueless as to what to make 😂

Thanks so much for sharing! I've never thought about pounding the chicken before.
My grandpa loves peppermint pattys so they always make me think of him 😊

The Pringles Mingles are great!

I really liked your grocery haul, it seemed you were feeling some food nostalgia😁
As always, I love this.
Love love my peppermint patties, my favorite for years 💕
We always buy peppermint patties at cracker barrel after dining there 😊

I am extremely jealous because I live in Quebec, Canada and we don’t have access to Wild Grain and it seems soooo good!

100%
I do love Pepsi zero or Dr Pepper zero. So good.
I use like 1/4inch of oil
I get my k cups in Amazon. Sometimes it is a better deal. I'm looking into the refillable of reusable k cups
Pork loin fritters are definitely a regional specialty. Don't have those here in NJ.
Tried to find the pork fritters yesterday but no luck. We love to have them on buns with all the stuff
I just bought a large bag of peppermint patties from Sam’s Club.
so interesting seeing peoples reactions to cost of out of season items like berries and vegetables
We always called those juice barrels bug juice.
Trash food, "calories are good". A girl has to do what a girls gotta do sometimes. It all works out. Enjoyed the grocery haul. Thanks for sharing Jen.
the pork loin fritters aren't available here in Virginia...sadly. I miss tenderloins.
No pork loin fritters in Cincinnati Ohio
Ok, weird. We have them regularly available at our Walmart just north of Dayton. Maybe it’s a farm community thing. You guys get better pizza though. 😉
I’m not familiar. What is the tipping protocol with grocery delivery?
If it’s a large order like this one I typically tip $20-25

Can you please share more pantry recipes or budget meals?! Both my hubby and I are looking at surgery after the New Year.
Yes maam sure thing 😊
@Jen-Chapin thank you, Jen. You're the best. Shhh, don't tell the others.
I work at Walmart. The k cups are
Definitely 14.97. They have gotten expensive!!
