in this video I will show you how to install your stairs with carpet step by step
measure twice and measure again then cut your carpet (the wormer the carpet the better and easy to install). When you kick your carpet try to hold the kicker from coming back and give some staples between the smoothed and the riser so the carpet will stay firm
take your time and you will get your job done

Nice work. It's obvious you've installed a lot of carpet, you made short work of those stairs. Thanks for the instructions!
thank u
This guy is a pro! Thanks for the video
Wow.. so much hate in the comments section. Are they jealous that you are doing it so fast? The work looks good enough to me. I'm pretty sure it would pass standard inspections. Good work.
They don’t know any better 👐🏻

Thank you for your video. My teen daughter and I just installed carpet on our 13 step stairs using your method and it looks great.
I super happy that my video helped you
Thanks for watching
You making it look so easy. Me on the other hand, I'm going through hell and end up paying someone to complete the project. Bravo to you my friend.
That’s the correct way to do the stairs. That’s the way I was taught keep up the good work
thank you
Thats. No cirrecto way to do the syair ... is only new york stile..
Amazing! I wish you were around . You do such an amazing job super fast! Congrats
Thank you so much
Thanks for this tutorial, it is very helpful. What are you using to cut the carpet?
Very very skilful installer
WHAT using tackless & chisel & a limited amount of staples--A 5
***** STAR JOB GREAT JOB
You should have give me 5*****
Great job! The question I have and I think you said it but couldn't quite catch it. The pile direction especially at the transition. I think I heard pile laying down towards you as you go up. Thanks
Yes,just because when u kick it you will have a good grip with kicker
Luna just quites us over 5 grand to do the upstairs, basement and two staircases. I’m putting on my bib the builder outfit ran
Wow you look like you've laid a few carpets in your time! Nice job 👍
Yeah for about 15 years
Thanks for this nice comment

Good video. One tip I would say though for anyone interested generally the carpet should be cut from the backing side, not the top side (as it can damage the pile more). At least here in the UK for carpet fitting places I've worked out we generally flip it over and measure and cut on the backing. It's also much easier to cut and will come apart much more quickly and cleanly. Especially on carpet like the one on the video that on action back (or hessian back, I'm not sure the international term for it?). Not cutting on the back when trimming the edges and finalising btw, I mean like in the first part of the video when first massaging out the bottom length that was cut out to start with.
Yeah you can do that too
I just find easiest with a Row Cutter
You sure it's to not damage the pile, I tend to score along with the bolter and use the score line on the backing to cut to protector from cutting the skirting up
I'm in the US and I cut from the backing to most people do, I would also recommend cleaning the nap teeth in the kicker especially when you're doing stairs, you want to get a good grip you don't want that thing slipping in causing damage because you're not getting enough traction. I would also recommend separating the pile before shooting Staples and dragging them down causing you to see everywhere a staple has been set. I would also use an electric staple gun in most situations
Great video!!! Did you put staple on the landing area?
Quality craftsmanship.
Thank you can subscribe my page please
I like your videos!!! Are you going to have more soon?
I'm struggling to find a small enough stapler they are mostly way too big. What make is yours and were did you get it.
Duo Fast and Robert's make an electric upholstery stapler. American. This air gun is NOT the way to go, the staples are to wide. $250.00
I don’t know why he can’t get 16 million viewers
Ur best one buddy
selam brother I know I should get more 4 sure
Nice job

A professional carpet fitter is doing the stair carpet for me, I'm gonna do the underlay, does the underlay just hang over the nose or should it go down the back as well to top of gripper.
Awesome job thanks for the video one question is there a guide for spacing the grippers 1/3 of the carpet thickness or 1/2 of carpet thickness thanks
Sweet Vuvuzela Usually I use my fingers between the risers and the gripper
should work perfectly unless carpet is way to think I go 3/4
Bleta Q thanks bud 👍🏻
Finally a decent video that is very helpful. Say your stair treds are more narrow than ideal. Would you still recommend using a tack strip? My basement stairs are awful
yes u should u want your step nice a tight
Thx for the great video. Would a powerful electric stapler do the trick on a carpet thickness like yours? The cost of pneumatic stapler/compressor are quite high but there are electric T50 staplers around $50 on Amazon. Any advice appreciated!
Yes electric stapler works just as good ( mine is duo fast staples)
@@BletaQ Thank you, Sir! HNY!
I'm getting ready to take a contract laying alot of carpets. I've never layed stairs and only have installed 4 or five rooms. Thanks for your videos! I wouldn't have been able to take this job without watching you. I'm sure I'll run into problems and if it's okay can I contact you?
Yes for sure
Laid
Nice work you are a pro👌
thank you
I just subbcribe u can u do the same
Would list the equipment you have used please
how fast you are man… unbelievbl
I usually tack the top as well.
What do you do when you reach to top? Ie where does the stairs finish and the landing start?
U cut it under nosing so when you do landing or Carpet hall or whatever you got you don have to come all the way to the riser but just nosing
@@BletaQ thank you
@@wormcultist6637 can u subscribe please
The landing should have been one full piece over the lip of the stair
I am using your tips however my carpet is really firm. It's like low profile office style. When I use the knee kicker it doesn't budge and the stairs have play in the top tread (vertical bullnose part is OK). Any advice how to get the kicker to actually pull the carpet firm against the tack strip? You kicker looks fancy and mine was only 30 dollars at home depot. Is that the problem?
the wormer the carpet the batter and when you kick with the kicker try to hold you kicker from coming back t and give steples.
turn you heat up let the carpet worm up since its commercial you will have better result
good luck
You might have the teeth too far out on the kicker,
David Destefano no they are not for this carpet since carpet is 60.oz
I am impressed bro. Would look much better on the video if you gave a good clean after you laid the carpet.
What is the usual way of laying the carpet around the bullnose, do you use tacking or leave it hang down in a straight line?
that's extra pay the builder dosent pay for that lol
@@frediproko6569 straight line and staples
👌👌👌👌👌
Thank you
What staples do you use?
I just paid a contractor to do my carpet and stairs and it looks horrible. I'm going to get the tools and do the stairs myself. I even had to rent him a power stretcher from home depot. Is that stapler from harbor freight?
No it’s not it’s a dual fast just go to a carpet supplier buy one do the stairs and than return it It work couple of times for me so ask them if u can return or see if home depo has one and rent it
@@BletaQ gotcha. Thanks for the great video !
I tore the carpet off my stairs and said to myself “who the heck used 1000 staples”….: now I know who!!
Obviously you don’t know Anything about carpet install just because it’s hard for your ability to remove staples that tells me that you are useless
should stick to your hobby and let the professional do there job
How much does it cost to install carpet on stairs as a contractor
I charge $15 a step + $50 for stringeers for one set
@@BletaQ where r u located
Abdul Hai
In Canada
He put so many steples on each stair! I guess it will be horrible to take this carpet off for replacement in the future.
if you don't put lots of staples- when you kick the step carpet will come off I will post a video how o remove stairs and you will see its not so bad
What is this method called?
Lori Rivero I’m sorry I don’t know what u mean!!!!!!
@@BletaQ I've heard ppl say waterfall??? or something else.
Lori Rivero oh ok no this are regular stairs
Waterfall means you run the carpet without stapling under the stair nosing
And can you subscribe please
@@BletaQ , in the states, waterfall is the norm. These would be custom steps. Called contour, hollywood, or fitted depending on who your talking to.
Totally disagree with this way of fitting but this is the American way “staple till it looks good “ shocking really that landing will come up in a few weeks 100% short after cutting it net to the gripper then stretching away from it 🤭
That’s ok if u disagree the way I install,
But I haven’t had a call back about that job and it’s been over a year and I guarantee my install for 3 years
I do about 350-400 houses every year believe it or not I might do 2-3 small repair
(By the way the lending hasn’t come off yet )
Have a wonderful day
@@BletaQ surprised about the amount of houses you do per year could do more if u pushed your self
Shoddy bull nose
what about the sides ? i see plywood
Sides here in Canada called stringers
U can carpet or paint
I do have video showing how to do it
