This woman literally shaped my life, Harry Potter kept me sane during the very long and hard years of my childhood and adolescence, my dreams as a kid evolved into what I am right now, as well as my goals (I’m 30), and it all started obviously with HP, I would love to see more of her, interviews, late night shows, public life, everything any other famous person enjoys
You can adore the art without adoring the artist. I think that’s important to remember.

@Clive Warren Nancy Stouffer changed the cover design of her book after she lost a lawsuit she brought against Scholastic. If anything, she did the copying on that front. 'Nimbus' is a latin word, not exactly intellectual property (and we know JK used a lot of latin in the HP novels so could easily have come across it herself). A character having a similar name and vague appearance doesnt prove plagiarism. Stouffer was even fined for changing her book retroactively to try to win the lawsuit.
the only writer that made me feel immersed in the world she wrote truly fascinating every kid in elementary growing up loved Harry Potter

Not saying you don't have a right to have an opinion. You do just as others around the world. There are far more outspoken people who are actually clearly and unapologetically transphobic. But she gets it bad because she is actually decent( easier target). She gets one damn opinion for herself and she is now getting threats. Even you just gave someone a threat in the thread above. Well said. I get that everyone is entitled to their own feelings and opinions and don't have to like J.K., but I don't think she's a hateful person by any means and has given so much so I'm pleased that there are still so many people that seem to see this and want to continue to acknowledge her :)

Thank you Stephen Fry for Interviewing J K Rowling. When my daughter could hardly read, write or spell in school I used Art and Music to make reading fun. My daughter is a HUGE fan of Harry Potter. And is now a Bookworm that collects J K Rowling's Books. It is thanks to Authors like J K Rowling that make reading FUN. Her books are fantastic for children that hate reading. I am talking about children I like to call Creative Audio Visual Thinkers, but the Academic labels us DISABLED ... Dyslexic. Did you know that the NHS state on their Website that Dyslexics are Problem Solvers. Yet we are not allowed to show the Academics how to make reading fun, not stressful.
My mother could not attend our daughters concert because she is so broken. We need Safe Spaces. We really do. J K Rowling could have cared more about the money than actual human rights, but she spoke for every girl and women that has suffered some sort of abuse and is too scared to speak out.

J.K. Rowling is amazing. I love her. Thank you for your wonderful books and stories. I am currently reading the illustrated version by Jim Kay, to my toddler. I absolutely love the art, it is stunning. I like to stop and appreciate the beauty in the details.

And yet, every version of these creatures varies depending on culture and religions. Dragons are a very good example of that: in Europe they're mostly evil flying lizards while in Asia they are usually benevolent spiritual creatures in connection with water, and with feathers.

Because of those vile, insecure Twitter users who believe themselves to be morally superior to everyone else, we will struggle to see JKR celebrated in modern things like Little People Big Dreams, or Barbie because brands are worried about their image. Even though JKR has done so much more than share her views. Those awful people smile when people are torn down to make themselves feel bigger. This isn’t true trans activism, this is toxic trans activism in the social media age. I think we need to lobby and fight for JKR to be remembered for what she really brought to our world, not just how some trans activists like to view her.
JK is on the exact opposite end of the spectrum where she has no problem associating with the worst people on the face of the planet for the ultimate goal of pushing trans people back into the closet

She explained what reading is, her books made me imagine , made me choose books over movies.
I think of the same with mermaids even vampires. Love the idea of creation of these fictional creatures across different cultures. I did this in my mind since a kid. Creating creatures as a form of entertainment for myself. When I look at nature, like birds you can see there are so much room God or nature gave us to write on to make our own worlds in our minds. Such a gift.
