I don't feel like the Harry Potter series is "for kids". I know adults who read and enjoyed the 7 books. But I get it that the magical theme might be aimed to children while the relationships and the characters can be read in different ways by kids, teenagers and adults and have a deep meaning.

I think people need to stop pressuring J.k to write another book. There harry potter books were a huge part of my life but when J.k moved on I did as well. Do we really want every cultural phenomenon to over stay their welcome and decline in quality like the simpsons? Sometimes it is best for things to gracefully bow and leave and Harry Potter did just that. So fans appreciate what you have and what this woman gave us and just be glad it is what it is

alaskawaters harry potter was there for me since i was 14 months old. I watched all movies, read all books, played all the pc games and much more. It transformed from being a thing that i like to a part of my life. But then it just kinda stoped. it stoped being a part of my life...and it has grown to be my whole life. up to 99% and i am so happy about that

Rowling herself has said that she didn't consider her audience when writing Harry Potter, and so when the story becomes a lot darker in the later books, I think more mature readers appreciate it even more.

I've always been a bit intrigued about the history behind certain characters, specifically Dumbledore. It would be nice to read a story telling events in his early life. I just find wizards that fascinating. Overall, J.K.Rowling is the reason why I am working on writing and illustrating my own children's books. She has been a major inspiration for me, and I'm happy to hear that she is trying to help children. Every child deserves to enjoy a happy childhood.

I lived in an orphanage for 2 weeks it seemed like a month or a couple of months it was the second worth time in my life and I was 5 it was the worst the first nite i had to take a shower in front of a grown woman second I had to lay in a bed in a large room with tones of kids and they only had 1 tv one tv in a small living room with one couch so we had to sit on the floor in the 2 weeks I stayed there we only got to play on the playground one time and it always cuz we had to get shots but I remember laying in bed at nite and feeling every day all day that NOBODY nobody at all Loved Me it was like I said the 2nd worst time in my life feeling like nobody in the whole world loves you is by far the worst feeling in and on this earth I pray nobody feels that pain again maybe one day or when we finally all go home to heaven love you all God Bless

The first time I saw Harry Potter on tv, I remember the scene with sirius black dying. And I sobbed. Never thought it was a 'just for kids' film or book series. In fact, I thought she did a great job of handling the story line and talking about the tough/dark side of life in a way kids can understand.

J.K. Rowling is the George Lucas of literature. The Harry Potter novels like Star Wars are released during the summer, and they both appeal to all ages. You can almost call her the first blockbuster novelist. Although I'm still a fan of the books and find them to be very enjoyable, there's something I realize about them now. Granted, Rowling is a wonderful writer and a good storyteller; however, Rowling infantalizes the reader and overwhelms him or her with plot and sentimentalism. It's a trick that she uses to get the reader to addictively turn the pages which challenges the notion that her writing is a true artform. She is more of an entertainer. I am not disowning Harry Potter, I'm merely stating what most fans don't see.

I lived in an orphanage for 2 weeks it seemed like a month or a couple of months it was the second worth time in my life and I was 5 it was the worst the first nite i had to take a shower in front of a grown woman second I had to lay in a bed in a large room with tones of kids and they only had 1 tv one tv in a small living room with one couch so we had to sit on the floor in the 2 weeks I stayed there we only got to play on the playground one time and it always cuz we had to get shots but I remember laying in bed at nite and feeling every day all day that NOBODY nobody at all Loved Me it was like I said the 2nd worst time in my life feeling like nobody in the whole world loves you is by far the worst feeling in and on this earth I pray nobody feels that pain again maybe one day or when we finally all go home to heaven love you all God Bless

The first time I saw Harry Potter on tv, I remember the scene with sirius black dying. And I sobbed. Never thought it was a 'just for kids' film or book series. In fact, I thought she did a great job of handling the story line and talking about the tough/dark side of life in a way kids can understand.

J.K. Rowling is the George Lucas of literature. The Harry Potter novels like Star Wars are released during the summer, and they both appeal to all ages. You can almost call her the first blockbuster novelist. Although I'm still a fan of the books and find them to be very enjoyable, there's something I realize about them now. Granted, Rowling is a wonderful writer and a good storyteller; however, Rowling infantalizes the reader and overwhelms him or her with plot and sentimentalism. It's a trick that she uses to get the reader to addictively turn the pages which challenges the notion that her writing is a true artform. She is more of an entertainer. I am not disowning Harry Potter, I'm merely stating what most fans don't see.
