Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Nate: "Alright, I'll wait here, I won't go anywhere!" HAHAHA Solid dad humor, I can see where Zach gets it
It had me rolling 😂
Xwhere is jim
lmao
I rewound Onyx spilling the corn 20 times. The look on his face and the panic of trying to stop it while looking at you waiting for you to react. Then you grabbing the bucket and knocking the last few out and dumping them on the ground had me rolling! LMAO!!😂
When you were petting the cat and saying “Shucka Shucka Shucka Shucka”…. I seriously believed until that moment that I was the only person in the world who said that!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Glad to see your dad is getting around good, he didn't hesitate unhooking grain hopper bottom
Love your Dad I won't go anywhere
*well
WOW, that planter seems to be working unbelievably well!! Can't remember one switching over and taking off that easily!! I did not even hear a finger snap!! I really love seeing Onyx doing so much. Way to go man!! Proud of ya Onyx!! Good man! (Kudos to his parents too) This was pretty much a feel good video. Seems strange when so little goes wrong. I like it. Thanks Zack. (thanks to Becky for making it look so good)
The kid is a natural. He’ll take over the whole farm in no time
My Dad thinks I can do thathat
My Dad thinks that I can do that
Really cool to see you and your boy working together. Reminds me of me and my dad when I was a kid. Certainly cherish those memories I had with him!
Im still kinda impressed every time i see your content. You guys are running with equipment 4 times our size, and still, you manage to make it relatable! Good job!
I remember earning my keep as a farmers boy from 77 to 87, it taught me a lot of good mechanical skills I still rely on
It's all about work ethic. I learned mine around the same time you did by cutting lawns all over the neighborhood. Then everything rolled into adulthood, and I'm just getting ready to retire now and enjoy the years I have left.
Great video, Good to have the corn in the ground and moving on to beans. Looking forward to the new spray trailer as well as the new sprayer. Onyx is turning into a very capable farm hand. Hopefully that doesn't push Jim off the farm. I am still hoping for a video of how your Dad and Jim got together as a working relationship. The story of Jim if you will. Keep up the great work and stay safe. God Bless
Good to see Onyx getting more hands-on with the equipment now.
Very impressed Onyx, you are becoming a young man ahead of your time 👍. You are so lucky to have a dad that is teaching you the skills to be successful in life and what really shines with you is the fact that you are so attentive and take care in what you learn. Good job Zach.
I'm glad to see everything going so smoothly this year Zach I'm thinking this will be a good year for you guys as long as harvest goes just as smooth. I like it when your not all stressed out trying to plant it makes for way better videos
So happy for you that the planter is operating so well after the update.
Great work on the seeder by Onyx 👊 Good to see a confident and capable next generation.
You're a hell of a dad to your kids! The relationship you have with Onyx, and the way you turn a young boy into a man is something to see! Cheers from the crowded Twin Cities!
We made a “tray” out of some sheet metal and angle iron for the set and seed to put in the peg of the floor Jack and man it worked well!
The winter went by quick , yeah
Did i Hear the word Impatient once or twice..lol Its go time. Love it
DANG.... I just ROTFL when Onyx realized he f.up and you just yeah what ever, and take the collector, empty the rest out and just dump it on the floor 😂🤣
RETIRED, 78, FREEDOM, USAF, VFW. GREAT SEEING FATHER SON WORKING TOGETHER.
You guys are great and a joy to watch. Go American Farmer!!
I’d recommend pouring concrete from the ground to the walls around the whole building to keep critters from digging under and eating your pretty new sensors
Great Video Thanks Zach!!👍👍
Zack, than young man, Onyx, sure is something to be proud of. Congrats to you and Becky for being such a great American family. Love to all from Cape Cod.
Great to see that most stuff is working properly this year! 😊
You guys do so well on the farm, especially with the handicap of green equipment!
I’ve been watching every video for the past month and I can’t get enough! Is there any chance we could get longer videos? I know it’s a lot more work but I think everyone would enjoy it!
Havent seen Jim for a while, hope hes ok
Jim, Jim, Jim. Start the chant.
I was wondering the same thing, came to the comments to see if there’s any comments about where he’s been
In a comment a while back they said he had a small surgery for something and was taking some time off to properly recover.
Lot of work your doing great keep up the great work love your videos thank you
You said almost time to start mowing grass whish is funny. We have been mowing grass here for almost two months now.
Nice to see father and son working together.
Onyx is an unusual name isn’t it? Never heard of it until I started watching the millennial farmer’s videos. Love the name.👍❤️🇨🇦
Haven’t seen Jim. Hope everything is well with him
It's not see a young farm boy working and learning the different aspects of farming. Extra special that it's 3 generations working together.
We love your GS ❤ makes us miss ours but will have another one day, that breed is one of a kind & only GS owners get it 😊. My husband & I were just talking about you yesterday, & drooling over you’re equipment 😂. He said he enjoyed chatting with you a couple months back. ..enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing.
I am continually amazed at how Zach handles all the ups and downs of what he does. You are an absolute workaholic when it comes to getting the job done. Your knowledge of your farming techniques is truly mind-blowing !! You never seem to panic at ANYTHING !! Haven't seen your wife bring you those tasty snacks you so enjoy..?
Onyx is an amazing young man and is certainly worth his weight in gold !!
I think you get the message: I just LOVE your channel !! Blessings to y'all.
Did you get one of those DASH spray trailers from PhiBer Manufacturing from Crystal City, Manitoba, Canada 🇨🇦 ? If so your going to love it! They are made 35 minutes West of us.
Once again Zach keep up the good work you're doing a very good job
Great movie 🎥
I'm here for the movie lines Stop looking at me Swans! Iykyk
I love all the references you sneak into your videos. “Stop looking at me swans” 😂😂
Becky! I miss the outtakes!
I broke my toe doing exactly what you did today. Kicking a wooden block under some landing gear. Lol. I must admit......feels amazing.
Onyx is my kinda kid! “Sorry, dad.”
I love how your 13 old son love to help you out on the farm his a dad you mast be so proud of him and you teach him so will and hi Richard Donovan here from Australia gold Coast QLD and keep up the good work onyx
I used a set in seed on my planter this year
Its so awesome seeing "6" doing more and more every year
Great American family. Loved every bit of the video . Wish you all the best.
Great video!
Catdog's been teaching a night class?
Loved that, "I'll stay right here, won't go anywhere!" xD
You are so lucky to have such a great working relationship with your father and son l hope you know how lucky you are
It's awesome seeing things go so smooth this year. 🚜🚜🚜
The sarcasm in the video was great, all three generations. Great video.
I was the same age as Onyx when my dad bought me a new XR 80 Honda. I rode that bike every where on the farm.I'm 56 now .Man does time fly.
Love the sound of that Tractor
Jim, Jim, Jim.
It is nice to see a farm where the moisture is good. So many other farms are dry. They could stand a good rain just like we can in Alberta where the wildfires are going crazy up north. 😮
For the big shed, talk to the concrete guys and see if "soil cement" is an option, considerably cheaper than a concrete slab. Another idea is to dry mix lime and sand, then mix this with the top layer of soil in the shed, as the lime absorbs the water in the soil it hardens. Again, considerably cheaper than a concrete slab. Talk to the local road building contractors, they will have useful advice on both of these methods.
Where has Jim been this planting season???
I am going to thank you for you having your dad with you and I remember when I worked with my dad and I am really happy for you to have that priviledge to work with your dad
Great to see everything working as it should this year. All the best 🇬🇧.
A good trick for drivin in soft ground is to drop the air out of the air bags :)
I know you said you have bad gravel, but it sure looks like dirt or sand. Nuts how different and challenging.
You have a tail light out on that semi
Is it just me or is Onyx hitting a growth spurt? Great to see him taking on more things.
Onyx should be about 14 by now, so should be growing some
He’s like 12
@@blainesfarmingvids2639 they said he was 13 last harvest when he was running the combine
@@blainesfarmingvids2639 he was 13 last year
@@jimsmith9819 No way is he 14...more like 11 or 12.
Dad manhandled that box trailer, that was funny, he was done messing with it, lol
Well the kids get strapped in but he now needs the optional differential lock to get full traction. I had same issue with a dump truck, flat ground grassy, mud, slime, could not move and could not throw anything under the wheels to get traction. My boss just shook his head but nothing you can do (no gravel near by). Of course on a gravel area I fell into a hole and they just shook their head as well.
Millenial Farmers heading to southern Manitoba
Kool.
Zack that was great enjoyed it like how the planter is running it is great thank you
sometimes you can't teach an old dog new tricks. but you are making difference
Great content....thank you....farm family work life...bless you...for what you do ...👨🌾🚜👨🌾😍😍😍🙏🙏
The Apple must not fall from the tree nice videos love them keep them up
You going to be at the range on the 20 of June
So even tractors have pop up’s!
I about had a bowel movement when you mentioned the cost of concrete.
May I suggest maybe pavers instead?
Do 20-30 feet a pop over several years to spread the cost out and eventually you will have a paver floor all the way to the end.
We see a lot of shops and hangars that have paver floors in bush Alaska. They don’t require too much equipment or skilled labor to install like concrete does and often it is cheaper to mail the pavers to a remote site rather then to barge concrete in.
And thinking about it you could put Onyx on it if we wants to go out for football. Moving pavers would be a great workout.
Remember Arnold worked as a bricklayer when he first moved to the US
Can’t wait to see the new DASH trailer!
You have some good help. Family..
Clever editing and general presentation, even if you are not a big farmer it is fascinating to see all that goes on. Thank you
Zac you have gotta be proud of Onyx. I mean he helps out on the farm... never backs down from any Tractor work and knows his own limits..
Keep up the amazing work all of you.
GSD's shed twice a year and just prior to a heat cycle. There is a tool called a FERMINATOR.
If your going to own a shepherd, you have to maintain their coat.
Thank you very much for another great video Johnsons😊
One idea that works pretty good for dropping trailers is old disc blades instead of boards You're welcome
Good luck with beans
When you have sticking air valves you can put the liquid wd40 or air tool oil in the the red service side of the trailer and let it work it through the system to loosen everything up.
Dirt, Grain and Steel used those depth blocks too. The down force gremlins went over to the Cornstars
That was a master class for cornstars with the jd planter , go you good thing ! from Australia
Use a talc pail instead of a bag to catch the seed after taking the plastic top off it fits under perfectly. Nice rectangle shape pail.
Three generations out working ground must make one happy. The young man is doing more in a day than most do in a week.
Gotta love them sticky valves 😂😂. As a driver in the Northeast, you can hook em from that weird angle, but no sense pushing your luck if you dont have too.
Check in to see if slag is available near you for the barn floor. It doesn't stick to the tires and drains water real well. I have it in my cold storage barns and it is wonderful for in there.
Looks like its the protection valve thats sticking.. theyre not expensive... Pretty easy to change too. Think the one on my Wabash was $125 in SLC
Good videos... glad that planter is working better this year.
got yourself a good helper there
You should ask Jim to get the new spray trailer, save you time and you could sell your old one sooner??
“Everybody must get stoned” nice Bob Dylan lyric lol
All hail catdawg. Clever kitty that one. 😆
Love the videos and I would love to see a video of you going to get that new spray trailer keep up the good work and ty for doing what u do as a farmer
Stop looking at me swans!!!
I work for a seed company based out of Wisconsin and my question is what makes you choose what looks to me like untreated beans? Is that due to you spraying?
Zach idk if you will see this but did you trade off the old sprayer or selling it privately? I tried looking for an email to contact you but couldn’t find it thanks.
