Bulgogi and rice was my comfort food. Mom used to make it in a tiny cast iron pan and pour the cooking juices over the rice.

Looks so great! Last time I had bulgogi was at a hybrid Japanese-Korean restaurant near me, that my mom loves. But I find it... disappointing. Their Bulgogi was unevenly sliced, the sauce was bland, and even the rice was sticky and clumpy. I've got some galbijjim (sp?) simmering on my stove right now, which I'm making because short ribs were on sale. I'm excited for that; but, I haven't had a good bulgogi in ages. Maybe it's time to just do it myself, and I will be taking your advice!

This recipe makes 4 servings and the marinated beef can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, so you can cook another batch with the remaining ingredients. 😁 (P.S. If you’re cooking for a family, you can cook them all at once. )
