even as a Michigan fan, I would love to see these two teams start a little series and play each other alot more often. That would be a great thing for fans of college football
Ohio State wouldn't have anything to gain from it, just stand to hurt their season if they went in and played a bad game one week. If they beat ND they would only be doing what they were "supposed" to be doing. And I realize that describes half of OSUs schedule each year, the point is they wouldn't be real excited to add them to their schedule. ND on the other hand could gain a lot from adding them to their schedule. Beating them could boost them into the playoff even if they have 1 loss. Much like they had 1 loss against Clemson but still got in this past season (which I disagreed with BTW, because that could have left Clemson or ND having to beat a team twice to win the national title, and they could have played 3 times which we do NOT need to see. Plus it left other good candidates out of the #4 spot). Not sure what the committee was thinking. You are right though, fans of NCAA football would like it.
There was this home-and-home in 1995-96 and the two Fiesta Bowls, and Ohio State just flat-out dominates Notre Dame. There is not really much of a comparison in talent when you watch these teams play each other - and that's been the case for two decades now.
I remember watching this live, we had a party and invited our friends and Demetrius kick was so exciting and set the tone for that game. The plays he made that year including the Rose Bowl win over Arizona State are legendary. God bless him now that he's passed from cancer.....I hope the Buckeyes will honor him and Terry Glenn from this awesome team.....
This was Stan Jackson as OSU's QB. This must have been his best game because from what I remember he could barely move the offense and had to be benched.

Ohio State is a solid team with a great coach and players with ton of potential. What you saw all year is a team that is very inconsistent that's showed flashes of brilliance and immaturity. One thing that was always consistent was its ability to rise to the occassion. I've got no doubt in my mind that the buckeye team this year could beat anyone out there.
Winning by a TD or more is not a Squeaker (especially against the Badgers at Camp Randall). So that leaves only Michigan and Indiana. Those games werent exactly as nail biting as the Final scores. The Buckeyes seemed to have their way with Michigan in the 2nd half. The Indiana win may have ended up being Squeaked out due to a couple Hoosier fireworks in the final minute but the Buckeyes had a 17 point lead before that.
Also, they have always been that way, even before Nick Saban came; so they don't have that excuse that they don't need to pay attention to anybody else because they're the best; although they will make that claim. I just don't understand how you can only pay attention to one team. Sucks for you Irish fans Strength of Schedule isnt determined by how many ranked teams you played--just by all your Opponents rank out of 120 teams. If the Irish do play 4-5 ranked teams, the other 7-8 games are Cupcakes. Which is why the Buckeyes win in that category most years
Now lets see some REAL Squeakers against bad teams. If the UAB game was a squeaker, whats that make the Irish game against Boston College? The Irish played even worse against Purdue than the Buckeyes did. How about your 3 point win against a 5 loss BYU? And none of us cant forget the legendary Notre Dame performance against a 6-6 Pitt team. 3 Overtimes? Questionable calls which probably had a direct effect on the outcome of that game?

Really?
12-0. Suck on that.
Notre Dame is a joke, still patting themselves on the back for accomplishments a century ago when guys wore leather helmets.
They're probably better than your team
Sounds like Michigan🤭
Questionable calls which probably had a direct effect on the outcome of that game?
the same OSU that squeaked out wins against California, Indiana, UAB, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Sorry sweetheart, im from Ohio, theyre trash. Defense wins championships. Lets not all grow up to be fan boys.
