in all seriousness you have a great thing going on man...i almost did the same thing a few years ago but ended up having 2 kids...great channel you have here
You are so right about the thermostat, they have even better ones that you could get with no swing at all. They will keep it at what ever you set it at. Great video thanks.
Just a thought, I used to camp a LOT when my daughter was real young. If you buy one of the large pump action soaps when it's used up rinse it really well, you can then screw it onto your large water bottle. I used to do this ALL the time when we were camping, it enabled me to be able to wash my hands quick and easy without having to unscrew the lid and juggle large water bottles when I just wanted some water for to wash my hands.. :D I also brought one of those cheapo pump action garden sprayers, where you pump it up three or four times and it allows you to squeeze the trigger to get a continues water supply. I'd have one of those on it's side so I could fill washing bowls and glasses with ease. As I raised my daughter alone, I found anything to make life just a little easier when hiking and camping was a must lol... The collapsible bottles are also best.
You do great DIY video which I real appreciate. Your information really help others/me make the best decisions possible in this process. I will miss see you once the updates on the van are complete, however I will be happy for you that all is done.....thanks, deb
You have an awesome van and very astute sensibilities regarding your upgrades. I also like your idea of waxing the windows. I'll be giving that one a try myself. Peace, ric
New subscriber here .... I ENJOYED watching your video ! You do a great job at describing the work that you have job, and the future plans for solar power .... I will be looking for MORE of your vids on here . Thanks for sharing !
thanks Rick...I've done a few more things to the van since this video...it's really comfortable. I've got some cool videos coming so stay with me...peace.
I am watching more of your videos as I write this .... and I am learning many things .... as a 55 year old carpenter, I am quite talented in my fiels but I also know where I may fall-short... I have been looking at stripped down vans and am ready to make the purchase once I find a GOOD one ... once I get the van I will begin to set up my design of it's interior ... I think it is a GREAT thing that YOU are a mechanic... It is a great knowledge if you are gonna spend a lot of time on the road .... well, appreciate the contact... back to your vids for me ...
Good seeing you again...LED lights is smart...switching to Solar is smart....Love your multi colored lites! LED TV would also save you $$. See ya soon!
I remember what your van looked like in the beginning...which wasn't 'bad' at all. I like the idea of getting rid of the microwave...I'd probably keep the ac only because it get really hot in L.A. sometimes. Hey, I like your LED lights! Great job all the way around. You and Happily Houseless have very good ideas...take care~
it's really great and amazing but i can't see how does it looks like in one pic to know how it looks like and to remember all the stuff . even the free space
This one is wired to a dead circuit until the key is on. Most of the time, when these things turn into parasites, its because of the circuit that its attached to. I like the idea of a switch too...thanks and peace
I am thinking of living in a van for a while than buying property to live on. You do a good job of explaining what you did/do. It would be an adjustment from living in a 1100 sqft townhome but the drain of a mortgage and very little living right now is not my idea.
Roadtrek camper vans Rock!!😘 I am sooo interested in getting my own soon. I have been making notes and comparing between the 170-190...I can not wait to get out on the roads and hwys😎 I’m still looking for the right rig at a great reasonable price 👀 looking forward to more videos on care and upkeeps on this beautiful rig👀 Thank you
I used to work at an auto parts store and people would always come in and ask me which window cleaner is the best, wouldn't leave streaks, and would get the water stains off. Through my experiences detailing cars as a child, I found that car wax is amazing for windows. I would tell people not to waste money on window cleaner because streaks are inevitable when using it. I would highly suggest using car wax on the windows. You'd be amazed at the complete stupid looks people gave me, it was completely foreign to them and were totally against doing it. I would tell them you wouldn't even need windshield wipers once you do it. People are so simple minded and very much against change or experimenting, they would rather waste money on "window cleaner" than to try something that I swear by. You are literally the only other person I know that uses wax on the windows. That made my day. lol
+Travis M. I use windshield washer fluid containing Teflon. Works great and there's no work at all. I once went about 25 miles in a downpour with no need for my wipers.
runinguy There's a plug that goes outside to plug into "shore power". I plugged that into my inverter so that all the 110v electronics in the van work. The original cable was very long so I changed to to a shorter one to cut down on any loss that the long cable may have created.
Sweetie I don't know if I'm the only one who has a hard time hearing your videos but your volume kind of goes in and out.Fades and then comes up I have to use my headphones in order to hear, is there anyway you can adjust that or is it just me?
Debrajoy Standfield Hi, There were a couple of places where I had my finger over the microphone...I did adjust it a little to compensate, it did help a little, but not too much.
Awesomeee! I would of gotten a class b but I have animals in here so I decided with a class A :) been full time for only a month and a half but it's been fun
Beautifull home my friend! How much man hours would it take someone crafty and with the right tools but not a proffesional to do a similar amount of work that you did? What sets your van apart is how well it is thought out, I really like all the little bits and bobs, especially the flooring you put in and the modded storage. I would love to kit out a van but more as a mobile analog photography studio for trips around Europe. It would have to only allow me to sleep in it comfortably and then instead of any kitchen or toilet facilities it would have to allow for developing film (which needs running water ideally, but a sensible amount if you know how to do it right). There are some really cool large format techniques that require a little dark room and a stable platform to handle the chemistry but not nessesarily a lot of space so if I could get to a remote location, have a way to sleep there overnight - I could use these almost studio only techniques at sunrise when the light is right and in remote locations! I can afford to eat out on the trip but I really can't afford a hotel everyday and setting the whole darkroom everytime from scratch in every hotel room is a pain in the ass. In my own mobile space I could built a custom workspace to control temperature, flow of water and be light tight where nessesary and so on. Keep on doing your thing!
Your van looks like my 2001 great west. I just got it a month ago. I like very much what you did with the TV and think I'll do something similar. I even think the LED lights are a great improvement. I live in Washington state for the next 21 months so if you're going to be around the Capitol drop me a line, I'd like a close up view. Thanks for sharing.
All those vans look better with the stripes off, I use rain ex on my windows, I wouldn't want pink balls on my sliders either, led lighting good learning tool, did you get rid of those spiders ? great tv I like watching any news, Solar panels cant wait, step bye is great,
Love it! How did you get the stripes off? Mine is paint over. It's all half chipped off and I'd love to take all the stripes off...but I don't want to hurt the rest of the paint.
The great thing about small homes is that the cost to remodel is small too. $16 for floor tiles, for example. Small can still be nice. The whole "tiny house" movement is about living in 200 sq. ft. and still living well. I hate the 90s mauve (pink) color. I passed up a lot of RVs just because those had that color scheme. I finally found one with a green interior, still not my favorite, but better than pink any day. Good lighting really makes a home. I'm still working on that for my motorhome. Bad lighting is depressing. Low angle light is bad. LED lights up high are great. The storage space under the bed is really useful. I'm learning all about space management right now. I left a 2,750 sq. ft. house w/garage for a 256 sq. ft. motorhome (divorce pending.) Nice TV. I still haven't bought one. Mounting the TV is my current problem. RV walls are thin. I'll have to add some plywood, I think, and tie it to the floor and a cabinet. My RV came with a 4,000-watt Kohler generator that I will probably never use. I use city power when I pay to park. If I go on the road I'll use 12-volt and/or USB power. Really, a person can almost live for free, and live well, with some planning.
OK, first; "pink balls" made the forever immature, health class giggling, 5th grader in me laugh. Those vans always look better without decals. Very clean. More stealth for sure. Very nice. I have been enjoying your videos, they inspire me to keep going forward on my camper journey along with several others on this Tube of You. I appreciate the direct nature and thoughtfulness of your channel. Thanks for sharing.
GIRLGAMEGEEK Thanks for watching, and thank you for your comments. I'm glad to have you starting with our community here on youtube. Best wishes to You, Dante, Athena, and Andromeda. Peace.
AClarino "We" thank you. In ways I wish I didn't have animals for the constant worry of their safety and comfort. It should be interesting to say the least. Thank you for the positive comments and I agree there are several on here that are worth more than their salt. You included - don't ever forget how many you have helped and encouraged. Take care. Looking forward to the solar installation video. : )
+PlaneX Gamez (Dj PM3) ......I would be a dum robber, bc I don't Rob ppl... black just appears more attractive to the eye...white looks more like a work truck...so just keep it plain.... but whatever floats anyone boat.... just trying to give a safety tip....

I will be waxing my vehicle here shortly for the first time and I bought turtle wax...can I use this stuff on my windows ? and will this prevent condensation on the windows when I breathe out humidity? thank you.
AClarino ..ok good thanks. do you think the hard wax or the liquid would work best? by the way I put reflectix underneath the trifold black truck bed cover (attaches over the bars) and it keeps the hot out really really well!!
AClarino ...hey maybe a good test is to wax half the outside of a drinking glass then fill it up with ice water and see if condensation forms less on the waxed side.
rainx makes an inside and outside glass coating I used both and it works for condensation on my window inside and keeping the window clear during rainstorms.

looking for the link to your website for more videos of the conversation, just subscribed. I'm guessing the previous owner was a woman who likes pink, but everything looks like it is in good shape.
Hi, how are you? UA-cam recommends this video and saw that you haven't posted a video in about 2 years now. Hope that you are ok and found/ finding happiness now 😊
Just came across this video because I've been on a #VANLIFE binge. Awesome content
I've been binging on the same videos the last two days myself, lol
It's refreshing watching your tour and discovering how you took the time to personalize your rig and make it home.
amazing how ppl can save and live in small spaces... great idea!
Exact same layout I did to mine in the rear. Awesome job bud
in all seriousness you have a great thing going on man...i almost did the same thing a few years ago but ended up having 2 kids...great channel you have here
Nice video! You did some nice updates and the van looks a lot better without the decals on the outside! :)
Thanks a lot... :). Peace
Luv the van I am saving up to build I tiny home can't wait it's my dream my future God luck on your travels Dee
You are so right about the thermostat, they have even better ones that you could get with no swing at all. They will keep it at what ever you set it at. Great video thanks.

+Playlist Guy no its just me, lol

Great set up and looks like a comfortable studio apartment! It's good to be handy and know how to set up electricity.
You have an awesome van and very astute sensibilities regarding your upgrades. I also like your idea of waxing the windows. I'll be giving that one a try myself. Peace, ric

Thank you for sharing, nice and simple clean and livable.
I like your van more than a lot of the one I've seen!
im just glad he showed us his usb charger. super important to me.
Great upgrades.
really like that van ride, you can park up almost anywhere and not have the big van stigma.
Your van is saaweet! So are you! Take care~
Thank you.
I remember what your van looked like in the beginning...which wasn't 'bad' at all. If you were my age, the toilet would be the top item to show off :)
Nice upgrades. Little things like drawer pulls make it home. Nobody needs pink balls! lol.
Dan Travels Thanks Dan. It's amazing how the little things make the biggest impact on daily life. Peace and well wishes to you, brother.
Dan Travels ..Ha, Ha.. Red could be even worse..
Dan Travels ...or blue))
You have come along way
God has blessed you
Looks good
I cant wait till i get me a class b
Nice job on the minor mods. I like your mind set, keep it simple. Safe traveling to you.
LED strip is really cool!
it's really great and amazing
but i can't see how does it looks like in one pic
to know how it looks like and to remember all the stuff . even the free space
Looking forward to the solar panel vid too. SUB'd!
Thanks for the tip about waxing the windshield. I'm going to try it now.
THANK YOU FOR THE LIGHT TIP!!!!!!!!!! Definitely been looking man!
That Van is awesome...
kumho tires are excellent! They're not overpriced and they really really last and hold up
I have one of those usb charge adapters and discovered mine has a vampire draw....ended up adding a switch. btw, great vid. Love the led lighting.
This one is wired to a dead circuit until the key is on. Most of the time, when these things turn into parasites, its because of the circuit that its attached to. I like the idea of a switch too...thanks and peace
thankv for the video. you really have a nice van. take care.
These are my goals! so much inspiration man. I plan on moving out soon and hopefully find a dodge xplorer, Keep up the good work man and safe travels.
Nice job on the van, and I agree Tv is for robots. I live in San Francisco, In an SRO that I've made into a multipurpose room.
Some really good ideas, thank you
I am thinking of living in a van for a while than buying property to live on. You do a good job of explaining what you did/do. It would be an adjustment from living in a 1100 sqft townhome but the drain of a mortgage and very little living right now is not my idea.
I'm impressed.
Dude I live sitting on an air conditioner.. In Oklahoma its all that keeps us alive..
I might try one for those LED lights
Very nice brother!
It really does look so much better without the decals. I'm shocked.
cool video like the set-up

like the "wax on the windshield" trick!
Great info. on the window waxing.
Master of details.
cool set up man.
Really enjoyed watching the vid ! I'm verging to van life
awesome van bro
love your van.
How do you deal with the freezing cold temps and snow? How do you find a place to park every night?
most walmarts will allow travelers to park over night.
Perfect spot for thermostat
Looks great!
I knew you'd get rid of that pink stuff quick! Looks great. So does the exterior, really good work.
what do u use for window waxing
I loved this video 👍🏽
Thanks for the update. What kind of wax do you use on your windows? Great idea.
D.J. Warner I stick with the plain old Turtle Wax...it makes your windows shine for over a month.
ive only been in one and loved it would like to own one for when me and my girl take our road trips down south ,how much base
Could you explain (again) exactly what you did with the inverter and the electrical system, and what you accomplished by doing it?

Great video. Can these RVs be modified so you can take them into freezing temps? I want to go on ski trips in Colorado, but this is a huge concern.
Your van looks like my 2001 great west. I just got it a month ago. I like very much what you did with the TV and think I'll do something similar. I even think the LED lights are a great improvement. Solar panels cant wait, step bye is great,
Could you make a video on how you wax your windows and what product you use?
I have been seriously thinking about getting rid of my 22 foot Trail Lite motorhome and trying to find a campervan
What is the windshield product that you were talking about?
Love it! How did you get the stripes off? Mine is paint over. It's all half chipped off and I'd love to take all the stripes off...but I don't want to hurt the rest of the paint.

Really, a person can almost live for free, and live well, with some planning.
Tried to find your video on solar panels. Did you make one? Also, how did you remove the stripping?
OK, first; "pink balls" made the forever immature, health class giggling, 5th grader in me laugh.
Those vans always look better without decals. Very clean. More stealth for sure. Very nice. I would love if you got it painted black omg 😍
Felisa Ashley well I guess that should make you a bad robber . Why would you rob a black van with tinted windows.
+PlaneX Gamez (Dj PM3) ......I would be a dum robber, bc I don't Rob ppl... black just appears more attractive to the eye...white looks more like a work truck...so just keep it plain.... but whatever floats anyone boat.... just trying to give a safety tip....
Great video and decided to subscribe.
What is the name of the wax that you use to clean your windows?
what advice do you have about how I take off the decals on the van?
Groovy, how do you have running water?
First time I watched your video and subscribed. Have an Rv also but always searching for new ideas. One thing I've noticed is when RVers comment on a tv insallation or improvement is that "I never watch tv" but they make a considerable investment in its installation. What's wrong in admitting that you or others watch tv in your videos? Its a source of entertainment, it provides travel channels, news...and the list goes on. Just because you watch tv doesn't means you watch 24/7/365. Now that I've vented go enjoy your journeys.
I'm curious if you don't mind me asking. What size is the engine and what gas mileage does it get? Thanks!
How much would u sell the curtain thing for? Don't want the fabric just rail thing
How did you get the decals off the fiberglass
What type of wax do you use on the windows? My old wax is no longer made
hi I am planning on moving into my van I did not catch the video on how you got running water can you repost or let me know where to find the vid
I will be waxing my vehicle here shortly for the first time and I bought turtle wax...can I use this stuff on my windows ? and will this prevent condensation on the windows when I breathe out humidity? thank you.
i like turtle wax, it's good. Im not really sure about how much it helps with condensation. i heard other people saying that it does. thanks
AClarino ...do those ppl put the wax on the Inside or the outside of the Windows? thanks!
rainx makes an inside and outside glass coating
I used both and it works for condensation on my window inside and keeping the window clear during rainstorms.
I love your van!! I really want to live out of one and off of the grid, but my wife just isn't into it. I'm so tempted to go buy a van and just leave her. lol. I want to travel and see different places and be self sufficient. My wife would rather pay over three grand in bills every month.
Nice job..love it! The million dollar question is....where did you hide all those tools?????
Ontheroadwith Joy Thanks...I gave away most of my tools, and have one modest bag with all of the essentials left under the bench.
Thanks for sharing. Great ideas. Was your windows tinted before you owned van? Curiouse on cost? i want to do mine.
looking for the link to your website for more videos of the conversation, just subscribed. I'm guessing the previous owner was a woman who likes pink, but everything looks like it is in good shape.
Nice van man. Not to shabby, hard life, I couldn't do it just because the laws are against Van dwellers. Nice setup though!
Love your video you are awesome but those floor tiles look like a rusted floor in the video I'm sure they look good in person
Snowden??!??!??!
Shhhhh! They're gonna find him if you don't pipe down! xD
Pumpkin RUN!!!
Does the wax help with the condensation on the windows?
NYC Camper I don't really know...I've never paid any attention to that. I'll be on the lookout for that...seems like the wax may help with it.
Hi, how are you? UA-cam recommends this video and saw that you haven't posted a video in about 2 years now. Hope that you are ok and found/ finding happiness now 😊
How tall are you? This looks pretty comfy but i guess it would be a bit annoying if you have to slouch to much.
+Lappmogel He said in a previous video he's about 6'3"(190 centimeters).
Thanks for wax tip!
