    I'm saving and hoping to grab one in spring. I don't wanna drive boring, sub 100 hp cars yet. These cars aren't getting any younger, 2017 is the last shot to get one for couple of years of enjoyment, before I settle down.
    Time flies, you're suddenly having a family and regretting for not getting one, when there was a chance years ago. Regret would feel much worse than wasted money on gas to me.

    I'm the same too. I have my 350z and it's just the right car. I like the review. Every time you drive a Z you want it and especially the 350z. The 370z is nice but the 350z is just right. The more you drive the 350z the more you will love it. It's just you and the car. That's how I finally understand why they didn't care to put back seats in the car. It's just all about the bond between car and the driver. :)

    I have an 04. Great review, you touched on a lot. Only contention.... you drove the 370Z in the rain, which is why the road noise was so bad. The 350Z is just as bad. Often in the rain, I will damn near pull over to see if something is wrong. They skimped on sound insulation for sure, lol.
    And yea, the BRZ is precise as hell, but it's precise beyond what you can use on the street. The Z has the perfect balance of power, comfort and precision. I love mine.

    Good review! I owned a 2007 350z for about 4 years and I must say it's quite more of an improvement over the 06 and below and definitely worth the extra penny. In my opinion a 350z 06+ is the best bang for you buck if you're in the market for a sports coupe. I now drive a 2015 WRX and although it suits me better for my daily driving and needs, I will forever miss my 350z and i plan to get another one in the future.

    Love my 2007 350z. Sure it has a few minor aggravations, but for the price it has been a reliable fun car to drive. Even the stock power is awesome because of a great engine. The door handles break because of cheap plastic, seat belt light will come on due to loose connections, top won't go down due to worn elastic straps, etc. But most repairs are relatively inexpensive and often can be done by the owner with You Tube video assistance. Great car for a great price!

    Thanks for your review, Matt! This video actually helped me decide to buy a 2007 model. I would like to add, for those watching, that the subwoofer in this particular car is where the factory Bose was actually located. (which sounds amazing, by the way) Overall, one of my favorite UA-cam videos. These cars definitely make you smile.

      The transmission issues were actually fixed in 2006 with the CD009 transmission. Prior cars had issues with synchros going out prematurely. The only difference between the 2006 and 2007-08 transmissions are the 07-08s have an internal slave cylinder (that was known to fail prematurely).

    • @brandonsever2576
      @brandonsever2576 6 років тому +1

      frostydc4 I know this is an insanely late response, but for anybody reading comments who sees this, this car has the same trans as the later models. The only difference between a 2006 and 2007+ is the engine itself. They have more power, a higher redline, etc. But it's the same interior, trans, and the outside is the same except for the hood.

    the Zs are some great rides and Nissan has steadily improved it from the 350 to the 370. my cousin used to let me drive his 2009 370z touring. The only gripes I have are:
    1) There's no reason why Nissan can't make this car sub 3000lbs. In that sense, it's not a proper sports car, but more of a grand tourer. You really feel the weight during braking and cornering.
    2) Factory-engineered understeer by Nissan - compared to other RWD "sports cars." For "safety purposes" - ostensibly done due to not trusting consumers with a high hp/torque RWD car. It's understandable, but kills alot of the fun in taking corners.
    3) Slight throttle lag as Matt referenced in his 370z review. Also, the shift throw is still a bit mushy and long for my taste.
    I would love a 2.0T version of the BRZ - I'd jump on that in a second, would even trade in my S2000

    I highly recommend doing a review of a 2007-08 350z. They had the HR engine, which was racier and revved to 7500 RPM, like the 370z. I owned an 05 and an 07. They were both fantastic, reliable, and incredibly satisfying to drive. I too prefer the 350 over the 370.

      Tell me more about the DE vs HR, what's the biggest differences. I'm thinking about getting a Z.

    • @hartsickdisciple
      @hartsickdisciple 8 років тому +2

      Reese davis The engines share the same displacement, but they use different blocks. The DE is the same block used in a lot of Nissan/Infiniti vehicles. They redline at 6600 or 6700 RPMs, and have a 10.3:1 compression ratio. It's a really good engine, but doesn't hold up to high horsepower (over 450ish) without replacing a lot of parts.
      In 06, they had the "rev-up" engine. That's basically a slightly reworked DE with a 7000 RPM redline. They tend to be more prone to oiling issues.
      The HR started in the 07 model year. It uses 80% new parts, versus the DE. They rev to 7500 RPMs, and have a 10.6:1 compression ratio. They hold up very well to boost and high horsepower. The HR has a dual air intake setup as well.

    I am 19, and just got my 350z, youngest owner in the UK I think! You should definitely look into getting one. The engines are bullet proof and some have gone 200,000 miles easily and are still just as reliable. If you have a de-cat exhaust system like mine in my video, you will find it difficult not to make a lot of noise!
    You are truly a joy to watch. Some may take the mickey with the way you react to the hard accelerations you do, but I really admire how enthusiastic you are and the joy the cars you review bring to you, always makes me smile.
