    Hey Doug! It’s so great you did a review on this car. I remember in elementary school when one of the teachers bought a brand new black convertible 350z. He would park it away from everyone else. It was sacred at my school. You didn’t dare touch it or even go near it. Just could enjoy looking at it as you drove in or walked by a window. He drove that car up until I graduated high school and left for college. In 2020 I saw it again, this time at the Ford dealership where I worked. It was my teacher trading it in for a Lincoln. I couldn’t believe it! Like you’re going to trade this legend in for a Nautilus? But I understand. He had his reasons. As for me, I bought it that same day! Now it sits proudly in my driveway, 17 years and 200k miles later. Still running like a dream and giving me and my wife a fun time running around town. I love this car am super excited to see what the new Z brings. May end up trading in the legend for one.

    Need to say it: The 350Z (and the 370Z as a consecutive successor) are two of the best drivers cars of the last 20 years and if the new one is just half as good as these two were in their time, we are in for a treat.

    • @HermanWillems
      @HermanWillems 3 роки тому +6

      370z is rare here though. The 350z sold back then for 50.000 euro's. And the 370z sold for 111.000 euro. More than twice as much, because of CO2 import tax regulations. That's why these sportscars from that era are keeping their value very well here. Sold my 350z for 8000 euro, bought it with very low miles for 13.000 euro. I could now sell it, if i stil had it with same kilometers for 10.000 euro. :) So lost 3000 euro in value in like 10 year time. LOL These cars are 1. Reliable as fuck, never had problems. 2. Keep their value very well. 3. Great fun to drive.

    As a former 350Z owner, definitely go with model years 2006+. The fact-lifted interior is subtle in difference but it had much more attractive materials. 2006 also got the Rev-up engine which made slightly less torque but more hp and a higher rev range. The new headlights, LED taillights are also a huge plus.
    2007-2008 got the VQ35HR engine which had a much more linear power band compared to the rev up. I still think that’s the best engine Nissan/Renault ever made and I think it’s a shame they replaced it with the VQ37 which I always felt wasn’t as balanced.
    I loved my Z and babied it for 12 years until the terrible day someone on their cellphone rear ended me going 40+mph. I cried off the side of the road - I really loved that car.

    A few notes from a 350z geek:
    -The three dots were a 350z only thing. No other Z generation has them exactly as they are in the 350.
    -In 2006 the car got interior improvements including a better console, better designed and better looking door panels, 4 cup holders total. In the exterior the headlights were redesigned and added LED tail lights.
    -From 2003-2006 there was a Track-focused model with Brembos, Rays forged wheels, non-bose audio, Seats were: manual only, cloth, non-air bag (32 lbs each).
    -2007-2008 Nissan put out a NISMO version with aupdated aero and more power, higher revs (7500rpm engine), Brembos, seam welded chassis, sports tuned dampers, special Nismo forged wheels, red seats.
    -In its entire 03-08 run the 350z had three different engines to choose from depending on year, trim, transmission configuration: 287hp\275lbft, 300hp\268lbft, 308hp/268lbft.

Great with fuel and everything! I promised myself that I'd run it as long as I could and make it a project car afterwards!

    I love the styling of these Zs. Something about it just oozes that '04 rich style. We're just so used to every single model trying to look sporty these days, but this really stood out and turned heads back then. It would look almost understated by today's standards, but since we all remember this standing out in a sea of dull, rounded, and conservative designs, it still looks bold and exciting.
