Biggest mistake when buying a 350z is not buying the HR versions. They are rare, but the engine is seriously better than the originals and the rev-up. The non-HR versions had 285 hp with the old SAE ratings. In 2007, this also changed and under the new standards is made around 250. The HR versions made 305 with the new SAE standards, which means it made around 320 under the old standards.

Very happy to see a Z on the channel! I lost my Z in a similar way. Less than a year owning it, drunk driver smashed into my garage, pushing my 350z into the washer and dryer, taking out a wall and water heater. Never made it to LimeRock Park 😫
I miss my Z. I also had a 2003 350Z Enthusiast at 19 years old as my second sports car. I had a 2001 Mustang V6 at 18 for just a week. Living in Utah I had to trade my Z for my current 2017 GTI so that I could drive up to the mountain for snowboarding. My Z was by far my favorite car ever, I got it in the Fall last year and drove it through the winter with the 20s that the previous owner put on them with summer tires. I am for sure going to get another one later in life. That was the best car ever. I love the video.
Super cool! I was so excited when these first came out and I was in my early 20s. I finally bought a brand new 2005 touring and loved it, drove across country a couple times in that car!
Well most new sedans do about that these days. Also getting that 0-60 time in the real world is not all that easy. I love my 350z, but I would never say it is all that fast.
I bought my dark grey 2005 enthusiast package with leather seats and a stick when I was 17 and it STILL only has 34k miles on it! I love my car and take super good care of it

Rad and Oil Cooler are a must to make sure that thing just keeps pounding out laps. Also skip the brembos and go straight to the Akebono calipers from the 370Z. No pad knock-back like the Brembos. Other than that High Flow cats and a Intake Plenum spacer are the best mods to get a little more power out of it. Then have it tuned and have the rev limiter raised for even more VQ sound fury. Love the new car. Keep up the amazing work.
Wow, this was such a great video. I bought a 2007 san marino blue 350z after graduating HS, and it's been with me through almost 5 years of college. JJN Joshy I was too.
Don't worry you'll be even broker when you realize how much it costs to exist
Just save your cash. I just bought a 06 350z for 10k. I am twenty years old, I just started saving for a sports car when I was 18.
scott Craig-Stearman are you broke now? 😄
@@_baller Haha not really. I made sure I had plenty left over. You always need to prepare for somthing being broken when you buy a used vehicle. Though so far I have owned it for a month and nothing came up :)
It is unbelievably cool to finally find a channel in my area of the US that I'm super familiar with and can relate to. I didn't realize it until this video where you go to VIR. Keep up the good work! :D
always wanted a 350z but ended up getting an NA miata instead for autocross
Your fluid filled diff bushing is completely popped, replacing that makes loads of difference! @ 2:48
The Zeat time machine
ZEET
Im saving up for a 350Z myself bro. Love what youve done with her. A lot of people make them look nice and go fast on street but, the track is where it was meant to be, shes a drivers car.
Z nation 👍🏼👍🏼 🤙🏼
It was nice to meet you at TMP, your sticker will stay on my car for the rest of my ownership, cheers!
“Because I’m a garbage boi” 😂
Very happy to see a Z on the channel! I lost my Z in a similar way. Less than a year owning it, drunk driver smashed into my garage, pushing my 350z into the washer and dryer, taking out a wall and water heater. Never made it to LimeRock Park 😫
"It was not particularly fast"
Me; drives a 107 hp Slowrolla: "Excuse me, wtf"
at least u got the Good gas mileage lmao
Automotive aesthetic video on the 350z? Another great video as always guys
I cant keep torturing Daniel with my old cars lol. I need to bring him something nice for once
@@GearsandGasoline always makes great content. I love daniel too, such a great guy. Keep doing what you're doing 👍
You compared the Z's speed to the Miata and BRZ? That's disrespectful
Yup, I agree.
What’s the opening song? It sounds exactly like “Running Away” by Vulfpeck
I absolutely love these track day videos! They are outstanding to watch with the incredible filming you guys do!
Time to play some Teriyaki boyz
This is an extremely high quality video
Never new the 350z was considered slow for a entry level sports car
It's not! I have one.....
@@dannylee1987 it's slow for the price.
Yes! Super excited for the 350z series!
dont make me get a 350 :( been having a hard time not buying one but i just love my subarus so much haha
Super cool! I was so excited when these first came out and I was in my early 20s. I finally bought a brand new 2005 touring and loved it, drove across country a couple times in that car!
When 5.5 seconds isn't fast... Lol
Well most new sedans do about that these days. Also getting that 0-60 time in the real world is not all that easy. I love my 350z, but I would never say it is all that fast.
Way faster then a brz and miata though.
@@insaneconqueror5421 True. LOL
scott Craig-Stearman yeah standards have risen...but it's not exactly slow..
I bought my dark grey 2005 enthusiast package with leather seats and a stick when I was 17 and it STILL only has 34k miles on it! I love my car and take super good care of it
“Not that fast”
Meanwhile i drive a 100hp car and is faster than half the cars around me 😂
David Micevski facts I drive a civic 😂
Can honestly tell you this video conviced me to get the manual sedan g35 and it feels like my first sportscar and ive had a gti... also i enjoy everyone telling me to get the coup 😁 love your channel!
Normaly I'm a fan of RPF1's but they look weird on this car
Its_Me_Romano _ you got a good point. It’s weird seeing a 350z without three piece wheels 🤣
2004 Mazda RX-8. Black leather interior, stock wing, 3 pedals and 6 gears. I miss it so much.
I had an 05 35 anniversary edition loved that car. I should of kept it.
that red Jag XJS in the garage is gorgeous
Hope you have an engine oil sponsor since those early years vq engines love to gulp oil.
'05 & '06 with RevUps are far, FAR worse.
I used to have a 350z and i just have good memories about that car.
Give Japanese cars love :)
The Z chassis is the new S chassis, Cheap : Manual : RWD
Wow, this was such a great video. I bought a 2007 san marino blue 350z after graduating HS, and it's been with me through almost 5 years of college. I've become pretty apathetic about it despite putting in effort to have a proper suspension setup (similar to yours), and all of the bolt ons etc. Your video is a reminder to me of just how simple yet great the 350z platform is. Maybe I'll take it out for a spin soon :)
3:30 ( ಠ ͜ʖಠ)
seriously. that suspension sounds are pure love
This was really satisfying to watch. Goodjob. Subscribed!
Glad to see people loving the 350z in the comments
Sweeeet. Love you Gears and Gasoline!! You guys are friggin awesome.
I have a Z and honestly sometimes I just go around and drive not cause I’m sad or anything just because it’s just so fun, even though it’s an automatic.
