I’m still surprised your channel is so small at the moment. Your content is well produced and a pleasure to watch. There is just a cadence to your narrating that I find comforting. Coastal BC is near and dear to my heart and I feel like I’m there with you. Keep on doing you bro, much love!
Haha thanks dude! And it's all good, my content is pretty niche stuff. I do it for the love so my audience size is secondary. I'm stoked that people watch the vids though and the fact 3000 people have subbed still surprises me. Cheers!
2nded. I have watched all your content and am on round 2. I take possession of my new acerage on Texada in Feb. While currently in Calgary. Your videos are keeping me sane in anticipation of actually being there. 🤘
Since finding your Channel, your videography never ceases to amaze me! Absolutely love every bit of the footage that you get from under the surface, this is absolutely incredible, and your narration is very well put together, I'm going to be on a binge watching mission!
I’m in North Florida and have dived in gulf , Atlantic , springs , rivers, lakes , coral reefs from Bahamas to Mexico but I’m impressed by some you diving spots and enjoyed your channel.
Thanks man, happy to showcase the PNW. Sounds like cold water diving might be your final frontier! I've yet to dive it, but Google Browning's Pass on UA-cam. God's pocket. The colors are mindboggling. BC has some of the best cold water diving on earth. That said, I'd love to explore Florida. My friend owns a dive shop there so maybe I'll visit one day.
Cheers man! I took British Columbia for granted for the longest time. I always wish I lived in a warmer climate where I could dive all year. Turns out all I needed was the proper equipment! I no longer dread winter haha. I haven't been there yet, but it looks like a great place to explore. The majority is a rockfish conservation area but parts are open. Regardless, the diving would be great I bet!
WOW! Quite a contrast to the depletion in the Burrard Inlet. Beautiful and amazing footage! So wonderful to see such life, especially the Rockfish schools which have been so overfished and disappeared in the Vancouver areas. There must have been hundreds of Rockfish. Thank you Chris!
Yeah man it was pretty magical. Even still, I bet that area would have looked much different 200 years ago at that. Thank you man, makes me happy to know people appreciate the effort.

Haha no worries at all. I've actually been trying to find time to reply to your comment so I fully understand! Brains a great dude to have around, I always look forward to our dives. Sad news, luca passed away this week. He was a great dog and lived a great life. I'm happy I got to spend some time with him before hand. Great vibes all around on Alert Bay, I'd highly recommend visiting. And great idea! Cooking fish in kelp on a beach fire would be perfect!! Will definitely try that. Cheers! Hope your enjoying the summer on our amazing coast!
@@PNWSamson Hiya omg soooo behind still as this fab weather is too good to let slip away. Mermaiding it up lots at my secret spot that sits along the Salish Sea. Lost treasure found, oceans cleaned, the kelp forest of dreams and the harvest is served, Yumm-O. Kelp wrapped salmon I will definitely have to try. Well done sir...
Awesome video Man. Such diversity and beauty scenery. Sad they killed the salmon industry in AB but that was many yrs and the word conservation or renewable resources was not on the radar. Some cool bottles you found and of course the ones from Vancouver are extra special. Your music was perfect and Brian was right all those rockfish was like an aquarium...keep the vids coming we really enjoy them...
Thanks man! And yeah, humans were/still are near sighted. Unfortunately the same things are still happening. Salmon farms, overfishing etc. At least people are being a little more mindful I suppose. We had some great dives for sure. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Thanks for the comment, happy you guys are still watching em!
Yeah man, the structure can be amazing. Unfortunately, I find the beauty doesn't translate very well over the camera. After about 30-40 seconds, the footage gets boring to edit and watch haha. Unless I'm finding a bunch of cool stuff the videos don't tend to be very exciting. I do have some freshwater diving videos on the way though!
@@PNWSamson I know what you mean, even memory doesn't seem to be able to capture the seemingly spiritual and otherworldly experience of being underwater
Hey Chris, great videos man. I was wondering if you had a recommendation for someone starting to learn to dive. Any info on great or training would be awesome. Thanks bud!
No worries! I get this question a lot so I put all my educational videos into a playlist haha. Watch a few of those and it should cover everything you need to know! If you have any more specific questions after feel free to fire away. I don't mind if people call too, easy that than typing haha. You can shoot me a message on Instagram
Beautiful conditions and that silver spotted sculpin was incredible.A little research on where piers from the 1800's were located may lead you to some great bottles. Generally unembossed and or machine made bottles have little monetary value.
This is amazing footage come to Oregon spear our jetties on a clear day it’s phenomenal very large fish definitely want dive buddies the jetties are no joke around Oregon greenling taste very crab like I think they enjoy crustaceans 🦞 the most in there diet so they taste just like em
Haha probably true! I'd love to make it down to Oregon and dive one day. I have a few people who keep asking me to go down and join. I'll have to make the effort. Cheers!
if you ever make it out to alert bay again I think the old brake water dock by the umista probably has a lot too see there’s a few sunken fishing boats and a lot of stuff on the bottom
You bring an important point with the rebounding of the Sea Otters as they are a Keynote species. Without them eating a vast quantity of sea urchins, an over population of these spiny creators eat the foot holds of the kelp forest and create barons where otherwise abundant live should exist. Kelp forest are considered nurseries for many juvenile fish species of the coast. Without Sea Otters abundant nurseries do not exist because the sea urchins have destroyed them. It has taken literally several centuries for this to happen and so glad you bring this optimism.
Yeah no worries, and I've seen all that first hand. It's really sad. The coast off port Renfrew has been hit really hard. Purple urchin as far as the eye can see. Which to be fair is only usually a few meters underwater off our coast haha but you catch my drift.
Hey Chris, just picked up a Go Pro 5 for shooting underwater video do you have any recommendations for camera settings? Fairly new to shooting underwater not on the iphone. Great video as always. Thanks!
Thanks man! I usually shoot in 2.7k and 60fps. Everything is auto settings. The later models do much better with low light and stability though. I believe the batteries are much better too. You can still get decent footage with a 5 but the model 8 and up GoPro really upper their capabilities.
