    I found my abs to grow the best with minimal cardio and maximum food ammount, gained almost 5 inches last month!

    I got one of those lower back pad things after seeing an older video of yours and it's the best thing I've done for my abs. The worst is finding out Amazon sells bulk packages of Reeses cups 😢

    This is probably the most honest ab video I've ever seen and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. It helped me connect a lot of dots and verify what I thought might be the case but since there's so much information out there I wasn't sure. This is short, succinct, no hidden agenda, where I feel other ab videos talk in circles and promise they have the secret to what you want if you sign up for their program.

    Appreciate this a lot. I always find most beliefs around ab training to be asinine, like doing thousands of reps on 10 different exercises or doing abs everyday or after every training session.
    I've been doing only one exercise for abs (basically this ab crunch you demo'd) and it shows up only once in any split I do, training in the 6-12 rep range, progressively overloading with actual load, not reps, not any gimmicky position changes or balancing stuff for a decade and I've been keeping a 6 pack for the majority of that time.
    The few times they went away were never because I trained them too infrequently but because I got fat. I've even gotten them to show just by losing fat and not doing a single ab exercise for almost a year.

    Joe, what do you think of rope crunches? From my understanding the principle is just the same, but they're much easier to load. Great explanation as always!

    • @HypertrophyCoach

      Less ROM, less bracing, and actual ability to heavily load (you can lift your body with enough)

    What do u think abt cable crunches in regards to alignment/bracing etc? Also a lot of ppl say that you can target lower abs v upper abs-is that true?

    • @HypertrophyCoach

      They are ok. Not as much ROM, bracing and load could be limited easier.

    Great video.love your stuff.I only have one question.i have seen your video about profile bracing etc. For this ab exercise that Terrence executes does bracing place a role ? I mean should we have our feet stuck against something solid while we do this exercise so that we can use a bigger amount of load ?

    • @HypertrophyCoach
      @HypertrophyCoach  3 роки тому +2

      Two separate things. The pad is the “bracing”. But yes, put feet under something for heavier loads

      Of course, they're skeletal muscles just like any in our body. They're not going to grow like crazy though compared to other muscles. And you want to train them like any other muscle for optimal gains

      @@RDS_Armwrestling I can't speak for enhanced lifters but you're right in the fact that it does seem like a lot of them have really big and defined abs even when they're not at low levels of bodyfat.
