    Best things I’ve ever done for my chest was to go from a wide grip to a shoulder-width grip. I feel it so much more in my chest and less in my shoulders and triceps. I’ve had to lower the weight but I’m eager to see what happens to my chest after doing this for a while and getting my weight back up.

      Agree shoulder width is usally where the best bet is or just outside of it

    won't ever use suicide grip again; bar rolled out of my hands once and onto my upper ribcage luckily it was just a warm up

    I could never bench press without irritating my right shoulder. But following your advice, I lowered the bench to 5 degree decline and lo and behold I was bench pressing pain free. Although I must say, every bench press set followed by a set of cable face pulls have also helped a lot.

      @@theemperor2017 for me it fit better than flat as I have a deeper sternum. I definitely got much stronger and my chest has grown from the progressive overload in that time - but it wasn't the only exercise I used for chest.

    I haven’t had a barbell to bench press since I was in HS. I’ve got adjustable dumbbells, bands and an adjustable bench. Ya you know this, but with dumbbells, I get a better range of motion, and the free weights make it more challenging than the regular bar

    What was the name of that circular thing you put under the bench? A plate?? There’s not a super fancy name for it?
    Always loved watching people bouncing the bar off their chest.. kipping bench.

    You answered my question about grip width but I cannot arch my back. My feet must go up on the bench. Probably because my bench sucks

    Personally I always use a 10lb plate under the bench
    Just a more comfortable position

    • @theemperor2017
      @theemperor2017 3 роки тому

      Any reason for the 10lbs plate?

      Placed under the front it gives a small amount of decline which will actually put your shoulders and bar path in a more stable position.
