I admire them for having a shared interest. My relationship, when it comes to guns, has two basics. I don't tell her how many guns I have and she doesn't ask. Marital bliss!
Oh man, I'm sorry. I used to hate guns (had a friend commit suicide with one). And then I had a child. When the danger was no longer just to me or my husband, I had to really think about carrying a gun, especially as sex trafficking is really growing. No way is my child going to go through what I did. I still don't particularly like guns, but I love my daughter SOOOOOO much more than I dislike guns. I hope one day your wife can see how necessary a gun is in this world.
I'm a 68 year old woman who recently purchased a gun for protection. I am taking instruction here in Florida but your videos have so enhanced my knowledge of guns & self defense. Thank you so much!
What a lot of people don’t understand is that carrying a weapon is a lifestyle. I love the fact that BOTH of you live and thrive in the same lifestyle. I love you channel. Well done. Be safe. Stay vigilant.
I'm a 70 year old Range Master. I must say I find your show enjoyable and most of all knowledgeable with your display of the shooting products and of Course the life saving products. Stay safe and keep SHOOTING.
I started my conceal carry journey this past month because of you. Thanks to you both, I shot for the first time knowing to prioritize drawing/proper form over hitting a bullseye.
I signed into my youtube and saw that you posted 4 hours ago - I was so excited! I recently just purchased my first gun - a gun like yours, Stav. S&W 9mm EZ Shield. I love it. I am going to start taking classes to get my conceal and carry license. I live in Texas, so gun laws are pretty good here! LOL. Your videos are the best for Women that want to learn how to use a gun, what kind of gun to buy, how to carry the gun. . . EVERYTHING! Your channel is the best! I have watched all your videos - sometimes more than once! Thanks for all you do to help out us women who want to carry a gun for self defense. My daughter is 5'2" 120 lbs just like you! (She's 25) I showed her your videos and how you like to carry in your different holsters. Thanks for all you do! Keep the videos coming! They are awesome!
All of the things I've thought about and considered, it never even occurred to me that I might want to carry a tourniquet and gauze. (smacks my own forehead) Probably the most important thing to carry after the gun and ammo. Great video...thanks!
Just wanted to say your video with Mac explaining all the different popular ammo types, including shotgun shells, is hands-down the best breakdown/primer/ 101 class on ammo for defense on youtube. I'm not a firearm guru by any means but I've had guns for years and your video was super helpful, especially the explanation and reasons why a shotgun (not loaded in birdshot, lol) is a good home defense choice. You guys are awesome. If my wife wasn't already converted to firearms and solid on the 2nd amendment, your channel would totally win her over. Thank you! Oh, favorite personal gear: Glock 43X with factory night sights and Shield Arms 15 round flush mag, holstered in the most basic, stripped-down iwb kydex Desantis.
Just came across your videos today. I'm a first time gun owner in Texas. I'm also a petite female. With these changing times I feel better having protection.I started going to the range and am practicing for my conceal carry. Love your videos, very helpful. You're both great. Keep them coming
I just got my first gun today: S&W 9mm. Congratulations to myself. It took 10day then a 30-day delay. I enjoy your videos I have learned a lot from you as well. Your BF is quite knowledgable. I saw the video with the two of you at a range. I enjoyed that video as well have others.
@@SheEquipsHerself thanks. I know I will. the videos with the two of you are nice as well. When I decided to get a firearm, I found your videos while looking for videos on guns, and safety, and other things. I really like your videos, and I have watched a number of them. I will say that the video I saw with you and your BF on a range and he was explaining things. That was really a Dope video. I will need to watch it again now that I have my piece. Also, this video was pretty good. I enjoyed it and I learned a lot. Does you BF have a youtube channel? Please forgive I wrote so much.
Hey congrats what a rush huh? In Kalifornia there's NO GUNS OR AMMO so it's due diligence!! I got a Mossberg 12ga Combo in July (looking b4 Covid a 5 mo hunt!) And 3 weeks ago to pkup an online ammo order of buckshot they had 3 Glock19s in the case ( no website advert) and grabbed one!!! Luck or perseverance ? Yes!!! 👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Love seeing videos of you both showing differences in carry accessories. Men and women have vast differences and I believe this has lots of value. Thank you both.
i am so glad to have found you two, my wife and i are just getting started in our gun journey and even though I am ex army, you know we did not really shoot a lot after basic, i watch and rewatch all your videos and tonight we did the draw exercises together , ty for helping us soooooo much
My most important training aid is an LED bullet. ~$40 on amazon. I have a small target 25' down the hallway. Keep both eyes open - no phone app required. Save a TON on ammo.
I recommended your channel to a girl friend of mine because she had just gotten her first gun. But what I discovered is that even though your content is geared towards ladies, men can also get a lot of value from reviewing your videos. Especially the video you have about shooting precisely and preventing shooter anticipation. Pure gold, thank you for your content and I will continue to share your channel.
I wanted a Smith and Wesson when I bought my first gun 3 years ago. It was my favorite but my 62 year old mildly arthritic hands could not rack it. Ended up with a SigP238. Very easy for my old hands and I love love love it.
She Equips Herself - I’ve heard that and want to give it a try. Haven’t yet. Concerned that age could play a factor in handling two different styles of weapons if I ever was in that stressful situation of having to defend myself in a gunfight.
Love your channel, it has helped me with essentials and gun knowledge. I recently purchased a 38 special for my LTC, but found I love the S&W EZ Shield 380.... this is my fav, I am a more fluffy woman so most holsters do not work with my body style, but I am more comfortable with purse or a pack.... Keep it coming, love the duo....
Great video, lots of fun and lots of information. I grew up in Massachusetts, but now live in upstate New York. I am a NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and I am getting a lot of women students. When asked why they got their concealed carry permit, most of them reply that they don't feel safe anymore. I appreciate your channel and am directing the ladies to look you up for good information on carrying from a female's perspective. Keep up the good work!
Your suggestions are great options; all tools; have one thing in common; if you don’t know how to use them properly they are of little use. Tourniquets for example can be made from many things. Survival bracelets made from 550 Para cord for example; their decorative and have numerous uses. My favorite flashlight is a Mini Solitaire LED Mag-Lite. They are tiny and bright; carrying one all the time is effortless. Let’s face it; you can’t carry or want to carry more things than Batman or Batgirl carry in their utility belts every time you walk the dog. I am pretty sure walking sticks, canes and staffs are not illegal anywhere. They provide an alternative to pepper spray unless you are in Grizzly country. Nothing beats a good whack on the bean from an ironwood stick or poke in the privates from a golf umbrella. They provide excellent defense from biting dogs and wacky individuals; they also never need refilling. Neck knives are my favorite; I never leave home without one. Sharpness counts more than size; The World of violence is not anything any book could ever prepare you for; I pray you never have to see it; God Bless you both.
Great information. I like that you have a man and woman's perspective. My wife is just getting into personal protection so i will recommend that she watch this video.
Thank you for clarifying who was the guy and girl! Pheooow! Hard to tell now days. Seriously, thanks for the post. Good information about your equipment choice.
Great Vid. A great follow up to this would be if you and Mac show us how you carry all this gear on your persons. That would be very helpful to see you you pack it all on and deploy.
Good video guys, actually watching this after you did an update... So glad you guys do the updates. Also my wife watches all of "she equips herself" so again glad that the original info is there but then any and all updates. You guys are such a good couple 😃😃😃
On the Alien Gear holster, get some superglue, and tighten the screws to where you wan them, and put a drop on the backside where it comes into the "nut" on the holster. It'll never loosen back up. I have a versa carry and an alien gear for my DC gun, and both have superglue on those spots. Have never had a screw back out.
Mac, I would also suggest the Blue Loctite on the screws (on the Alien Gear Holster). It sets tight, but can be removed with a little effort. Great video guys.
I'm just recently adapting to carry a flashlight, have not needed for any tactical reasons yet, but after being invited to a party, it did come in handy for finding light switches in a dark house when the need arised for me to use facilities, the party was outside
I like his explanation regarding books, I am pretty basic, The Art of War! 😆 Great advice! Also, I like watching and listening to what women like too, you can learn a lot from women... Great team! I am starting to like this channel!
Its crazy all the same things that I carry. I conceal carry a regular shield 9mm with talon grips pro, I have being using mag guts since they came out with them so I have the revision 1 with the ss follower and about 3000 rounds later they have given me no problems so if the revision 3's with the plastic follower and different spring are just as reliable you would have no problems whatsoever. I use the pom spray too because its rated for 24 hits or 10 seconds of continuous use, and that is more than enough for me and the size is perfect because I don't want to feel like I don't have space in my pockets for nothing else but gear . I already have an extra mag in one of them so I need at least one for the phone. Another thing you should have added was night sights and ccw insurance; for night sights I use the XS big dot and for insurance uscca. What I am lacking is the med kit. Good content👍
It’s a joy watching you both. I only came across one of the videos a couple weeks ago. What I would like to see is maybe some home defense scenarios in the home and around the home. I went out with a bunch of people a few weekend’s ago and we did this at any open pit shooting range. We practiced getting in and out of our vehicle during a shootout, Extracting people out of a vehicle, how to cover one another. Learned a lot. Thanks again for a well generated video with lots of good info. Oh btw, I’m 66 yrs young and love my Taurus G3. My first gun was the Ruger LC 380, I still have it. I just got back to handling again this year my first experience is when I was eight years old and then there was a big break in my life where I wasn’t around guns again. I would go out and shoot every day if I could, but I can’t now because everybody’s tight on ammo. So we have a nice little group that we keep our eyes and ears open for ammo. I’ve been doing pretty good so far, but it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
Good idea is to put two tourniquets in your car - attached to the lap portion of your seatbelt (driver side and passenger side). Just in case you get into a major collision and your legs are crushed and you are bleeding out. (Jaws of life can only move so quickly.) I think I learned about it from Fieldcraft Survival (but holy heck, I've watched a lot of these vids lately and I can't remember! Lol)
Thank you SO much for your videos! Because of you and your posts my wife has started shooting, carrying a POM and is interested in getting her CCW-CHL!!! Keep up with what you are doing!!!
Had the magguts for 2 years they work. If I had guess 2500 rounds through them. Wasn't gentle with either. Away stop the slide. Dropped free in to dust ,sand, and mad. (Didnt torture test buy any reasonable exposed at out door range drops) carry them every mag. The one problem is that older version the follwer would tip up and try to fly out has been fixed with the new follower. Good to go 👍
I have two of the finger exercise each a different lb strength. A good fav would be car safe and bedside safe. Some states require you have a lockable safe in your car, IL, who isn't reciprocity friendly and 99% of their bldgs are no guns. Thanks.
Get blue locktite for the screws for your alien gear holster. Cover the screw threads, reinstall them, wait 12 hours or so and they won’t come out again unless you want them to
I teach conceal carry. In my classes I recommend this channel, you put out very good content. I push the classes to take first aid courses. I also push them to carry a small first aid package. Just like yours, the only difference is I suggest the inclusion of a Tampax. It can be used for a sucking chest wound or a graze. I also push the practice rounds.
I would add a disposable diaper. It has the plastic outer shell that works as a blood barrier. And for my big trunk kit I recently picked up some Israeli Israeli Army pressure bandages that can also work as turnakits! I get First Aid training yearly from work. And even after 46 years I pick up something new every year!
@@ertonyrn You do realize skin tears and expands. You are going to hit that applicator really hard. It will fit. If you don't want to use a Tampon, you can use your finger. What ever you do, you have to plug that hole so they can start breathing again.
Dennis Jay ive been in trauma medicine for 18 years now. I’ve seen more bullet holes than you’ve taught classes. Entrance wounds are tiny. That’s why celox bead injectors (or even crappy quick clot) were invented and are carried by most medics in combat and we carry them in our med kits for SWAT.
Stav / Matt; I did purchase a few Magguts for all my extra mags for my Shield.. I like how it gives me about 1/4" longer on the 8 round mag , a little extra support for my pinky... and of course 2 extra rounds.. They are a little tricky assembling, but ones you get the spring in the right spot it's home free.. Thanks for another great tip.. you two are great keep up the awesome videos. I'm picking up a lot of tips and ideas
Hey Guys, great vlog...just started watching and picking up lots of good info - Stavroula, I sent your link to my 35 yo daughter who carries a Sig so she can get some great ideas from a woman's perspective... something I can't teach her. Mac, as a military lifer myself (21yrs active), I salute your service and value your experience. Together you guys make a great team. Look forward to future vlogs. Jingle Bells you two. (Kala Hristouyienna)
Great video. I really like this type of video. something like this for home defense would be great but one for cars is something I don't see very often. So maybe that one first. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
I put a strike industries extension on my 7 round and made it a 9 ... plan on putting mag guts in my 8 and making it 10 ... might try +2 mag guts in the strike extension and have 11 round in a mag little bigger then stock 8.... I wanted one had operation so I upgraded to TRUGLO Tritium Pro sights
That was fun to watch. Always interesting to see what everybody's favorite items are. It's funny when you said at the beginning of your video that everybody is doing a favorites, my favorites video comes out next week lol😂😂
I found your 2" bear claw knife example very helpful and very informative... Almost like having to carry 10 rounds or less regardless of where you are traveling.
The nano gun used 125 grain , but what is your opinion on the 115 grain. Accurate ? Bad function ? I’m thinking to change guns because this , need orientation thank you. Great videos I share with my wife
Can you make a vid about what you have in your car and also a vid about what to do when buying a new gun, taking it apart, if you have to oil it, etc and when a gun is considered to be broken in
I don’t understand the Dremel the sites... please make that video. You all have been great to learn from. Stav, your boyfriend in the video greatly adds to the content. Thank you both.
Loctite (blue or red) will keep those screws from coming undone on the Aliengear holster (I used to have the same problem). Once you put thread locker on there, the problem goes away.
I've watched several of your videos and have enjoyed each of them. Good information and it's consistent with what I, as a concealed carry instructor, teach also. (Maybe because it's consistent is why I think it's so good, haha!) I've been recommending some of the vids to my students to help them continue with their learning. Seeing that you're in MA, a rather oppressive and repressive place for people who want to exercise their Second Amendment rights is a little distressing. My sympathies! Regarding knives, we've been fortunate here in WI to have had changes to the statutes enacted a few years ago that legalized all knives (yes including switchblades), invalidated the local regulation of knives, and removed the need to have a concealed carry license to carry a concealed knife.
I love how Max thinks, with magazine compatibility between you two. Also: federal hst in 9mm is nearly impossible to beat. Great choice. I love how Max actually works on his items like the rear sight to make them more tactical or useable…re: Alien Gear, their new kit is pretty awesome.
I wish I had the option to have a favorite ammo! My current fav is "whatever I can find" lol
Side Kickz yeah, my .380 is not happy about it.

Try the Olight series. Much less expensive than streamlight and have some super bright lights.
What holster for someone in a electric wheelchair I thinking to get is the s-w shield
I've had a shield 9mm for 6 years and use the mag guts, and they're always worked perfectly
I got my license in the mail this week now I need a holster I’m thinking of one of those belly bands
Congrats!!! 🇺🇲
Lol)
i enjoy the bh serpa... its the most hated holster in the world but i enjoy what works.
On the Alien holster use the non permanent locktite on the adjustment screws, it works great.
Maybe using blue Loc tite on the screws for your holster would help with them coming loose.
Thank you SO much for your videos! Because of you and your posts my wife has started shooting, carrying a POM and is interested in getting her CCW-CHL!!! Keep up with what you are doing!!!
Love your videos! Always so informative.
Thank you so much!
I totally agree.
LOVED this VIDEO.... Can't wait for MORE PLEASE
Thanks.
They’re so helpful
Very much enjoyed your videos. Thanks. Great couple.
A tampon? Unles they get shot with a 12g slug thats not going to do shit. Bullet holes are a LOT smaller than you think.
The issue with the screws coming loose on your holster if you put a small dab of loctite it will keep them from doing that
Loved it. Helpful, interesting, and 'cute'
First time seeing your videos and I enjoy it a lot because you guys explain why you like those items and how effective they are…thanks for the info
Great video. I really like this type of video. something like this for home defense would be great but one for cars is something I don't see very often. So maybe that one first. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
I just switched to Federal HST 147 grain for my Glock 19 and also in .380 for my Glock 42. I no longer buy any Hornady ammunition.
I ordered the Leggings, however the promo code is not allowed anymore. I still look forward to getting them!
Great video, as always! 👍👍
Thank you!!
Would you speak more on how you modified the pistol for one hand operation?
You two together are awesome. Loved all the information 👍🤗
Thanks so much!
That was fun to watch. Always interesting to see what everybody's favorite items are. It's funny when you said at the beginning of your video that everybody is doing a favorites, my favorites video comes out next week lol😂😂
Awesome! Can't wait to see it :)
I found your 2" bear claw knife example very helpful and very informative...
Almost like having to carry 10 rounds or less regardless of where you are traveling.
Always enjoy the info you both put out!
Thanks so much!
Great discussion, thanks
You two are adorable together! Thank you for the great info.
I’ve followed you on everything love all the information as a newbie
I am learning so much from you! Thank you!!! 💕
I'm so glad! Thanks so much for watching :)
The nano gun used 125 grain , but what is your opinion on the 115 grain. Accurate ? Bad function ? I’m thinking to change guns because this , need orientation thank you. Great videos I share with my wife
His is punching above his weight class..god bless 'em...!!! Love your channel.
Love the Market basket bag, I'm from Mass too.
lock tite on those alien gear holster screws works perfect
Strike industries makes a +2 for the shield. Works great
Super helpful advice - thank you!
Thank you for watching! We're so glad you liked it :)
Great Information. Thank you both.
Thanks guys!! Your videos are always super helpful!
So glad you like them!
Did you post a video talking about one handed operation? I am really curious to hear about it! 😁
I LOVED this video! Very informative! Please another like this if anything has changed ❤️
Picked up my first handgun a few days ago, went with the M&P 9mm, next step is actually becoming proficient!
Awesome! I hope you like it!
Thanks for the suggestion!!
Do not use red loctite, you'll need a heat to get anything apart.
Yeah, fair warning. Red is more permanent 👍
Good info and thx for the links.
I love how Max thinks, with magazine compatibility between you two. Also: federal hst in 9mm is nearly impossible to beat. Great choice.
I love how Max actually works on his items like the rear sight to make them more tactical or useable…re: Alien Gear, their new kit is pretty awesome.
Loved this!
Thank you!
I have a Shield 45 and swapped the sear for an Apex. Huge difference in feel. The Apex is hardened steel and it gives a really nice break.
Glad ya'll got your videos back up! Got a M& P shield an now carry all the time!👍
