- The Sena SRL Mesh is specifically designed for the Shoei GT Air 2, Neotec 2 and J-Cruise 2 helmets. As someone who appreciates good audio quality the Harman Kardon speakers are miles better than the SRL2 But at £330 very hard to recommend the extra money.

I agree. I've owned both, and SRL-MESH is a much higher sound quality design than the original SRL2. After hearing the difference I threw my old SRL2 in the dumpster. Btw, the "Hey Sena" voice commands are now back on the SRL-MESH with the latest firmware update.

So I’m just going to throw in my experience here. I own a Shoei neotec 2 modular helmet with the SRL one system and it is crazy loud enough. I just recently purchased a GT air helmet like yours and I went with the SRL 2 system because the standard was again loud, I mean loud!! All I use it for is to listen to music and make and receive calls. So if the standard SRL 2 is on par with the first SRL then it’s just fine for me. I try not to listen to music with lyrics so mainly instrumentals or like Synth type of stuff so maybe the need for “bass” isn’t a demand for me. Also the mesh SRL is $350 where the standard is currently only $269 on sites like Revzilla. Some food for thought. Thanks for the comprehensive video though I do enjoy watching.
@whateverrad83, you can control volume using either the buttons (but they control volume per function, so you will need to do it for every function like music, GPS nav, calls, etc.) or you can use the app to set the base volume for everything.

Thanks for the review. I wish I had seen it two weeks ago when I got my SRL Mesh and installed it on my GT Air, 2! One note, I do have voice commands on mine. I haven't tried phone calls yet, but I can voice command battery check, FM radio on/off, Music on/off... I'm in US, so maybe we have different software.
I couldnt get mine to work, what did you do to activate it?

Can you conpare the audio from the srl mesh vs the cardo pack talk edge? Im on the fence about which to get. Personally better music quality is prefferable over voice clarity. I like my bass. Which is better?
How about talking distance using mesh or new bluetooth on SRL Mesh. Is it longer between just two riders ?
Has anyone found a remote controller to work with the SRL2 which I have just upgraded to for my new Shoei Neotec2 helmet from the GT Air, I cannot seem to pair the RC4 remote ?
The mesh does work with voice commands same as the old one! Page 54 of users guide

Why did you go high speed on the install
For us motorcycle riders who use earplugs for wind noise.. the question is whether the sound is still good?
I use earplugs when i ride, the rubber ones not foam ones and its spot on mate.
You mention that Sena Voice Command has been removed, but this is not the case with my purchase. My SRL-MESH has it and the documentation describes it on page 53 (by the way, people are doing installations by heart, while the official documentation has step-by-step instructions where everything is laid down, e.g. where tabs go and where cables go, etc.)
It wasnt implemented when first released and was later added in firmware update. Mine works after firmware update.
Are you using the Sean mic to record on to the inta360?

What about sound? Some reviews on fc-moto says it is a lot quieter that SRL 2 usual (so usual SRL2 is louder). Have you compared them both? Music sound is ok? Thanks)
I didnt find the set quieter than the SRL2. But i always wear ear plugs when i ride, and put the SRL at max volume and i can still hear them fine. And its at a comfortable sound level if that helps.
Thanks for the review. I don't believe you mentioned the quality of the mic, which was absolutely terrible on the SRL2. How's was the mic on the Mesh? Can people hear you clearly when travelling at speed?
I never had any issues with the mic on both units, I was using the hardwired mic that snaps into the back of the chin recess not the boom mic.
So am i correct in saying there are no Sena Voice commands
Hi its actually been added now, you have to do a firmware update to get it.
@@Dipscovery Brand new unit yesterday updated to firmware 1.1 still no Sena voice commands. Hey Siri works perfect
@dalescott6484 i saw onnthe firmware notes they added it but I've not tried maybe still not added then
