Hello from Australia! Great video and extremly informative. As someone that rides alone, I must respectfully disagree about the integration of the SRL3. One of the selling points for me is the integrated intercom. I will abmit the system could be better if there was a 3.5mm jack for my in-ears, but otherwise, as a system, I think the Shoei-Sena partnership is a fantastic, turnkey solutiuon. As a lone rider, I was only looking for a quality intecom that doesn't get in the way, and an integrated system works for me. Thanks again. I really appreciate your review, and your experience with the previous iterations really helps as well. Happy new subscriber to your channel!
Personally, I love the integrated comm system, it's sleek and unobtrusive. I love this helmet for all the reason you highlighted but the integrated comm system was the main reasons I purchased the NecTec 2. After a bit of "configuring" I was able to pair it with my '22 Road Glide. I can easily make and receive phone calls. I rarely listen to music thru the headset, prerferring my amp boosted sound thru the Boom Audio II speakers. Plus I don't have much need for the intercomm feature. I guess it all comes down to personal preference. Ride Hard or Stay Home. I appreciate all you do in support of bikers!! Thanks
I also like the clean, integrated SRL comm system on my Neo Tec 2. I suspect Shoei engineers would tell us that externally mounted comms affect aerodynamics and create some degree of wind noise. I’ll definitely consider the latest NeoTec helmet when my NeoTec 2 wears out. I should start saving $50 per month for a new Neotec, SRL and the tax. That’s more than my first car payment back in the early 70’s. LOL.
Agreed about the integrated comms, I have the Schuberth C5 with their somewhat expensive (Sena) SC2 comms. Sound quality is impressively good, but very quiet as I use custom moulded ear plugs with 27dB of attenuation. My main gripe with ALL helmets is why the hell aren't they made with some built in ear cups (removable if you want) to cut down wind/engine noise? We all know that noise levels get dangerous for your hearing at more than 30mph so it's a no brainer!
@@thormoto2711 The volume control thing on the side has a CR2016 battery in which should last a good 6 months. The comms module has a USB-C port so can be charged while still attached to the helmet. Easy!
@@thormoto2711 The battery stays in the helmet,. Its one completely integrated system, speakers, microphone, wiring and battery. It is very easy to charge. There is a port at the back of the helmet to charge the battery using mini USB (the charging cord is included.) The battery lasts a long time, I have never lost the charge even after a full day of riding, 10-12hrs. To be safe, I do shut if off during extended stops for like lunch or sight seeing.
Thanks for the video, some good observations, I actually really like the Sena integration option. Our group use the mesh on most rides . I appreciate the sleek lines and easy controls integration provides. Each to their own 😀
With UA-cam, once you start clicking on other "non motorcycle content" for example, it stops suggesting and starts displaying more of what you last viewed. It's been months since it last displayed motorcycle content even though I subscribed to many. Just throwing that out there for you content creators. Now, paying $1K for a helmet is getting out of hand. Everyone jumping on the band wagon of charging more and more. Supply chain issues excuses don't cut it anymore.
I survived being t-boned my Neotech is badly scraped, would have been my head. I have it displayed in my garage. I bought another one to replace it. A white one this time. I believe it is worth the cost.
I ordered this helmet a few weeks ago, I'm so looking forward to getting it. I got a smokin deal too, normally $900 (in black), I got it for $600 (because a store out of Reno made a mistake on their website. They honored the $600 price and then fixed their mistake. Great video Ryan, very useful! Keep it up!
Great review. It would be nice if they made a version without the integrated comms for those of us that want to use a Cardo and have that space available.
Double D ring is antiquated? 🤔 Maybe less convenient but I’m pretty sure, in testing, the ratchet mechanism used on the Neotec is not as robust as a double D ring. Otherwise, why does Shoei (in other helmets) and Arai (arguably the most safety conscious helmet manufacturer) still use them. I stand to be corrected if someone can provide evidence. I have a Neotec 2 and Arai helmets. I couldn’t care less about the strapping mechanism for my use case. Meaning, I don’t chose to wear one helmet or the other based on how the strap mechanism works. Some helmet manufacturers have moved to a fidlock mechanism offering even greater ease of use.
The D Ring is far superior to any other design. The newer systems are just for lazy people, in my opinion. It takes 5 seconds to buckle the d ring style.
The double d ring is stronger, but to a useless point. And the rachet systems are more convenient. The rachet system is strong enough to rip your head off before it breaks. Sure the double d ring is stronger, but you won't be around to say I told you so if you ever need that extra strength.
The ratchet system came undone on my Schuberth C3 Pro & yes, I did fasten it, haven't used it since. You can see when a D ring is fastened, would be nice at this price point to have the fastening system as an option.
As a daily rider the speed of a ratchet mechanism is valued. Although Double D is mandatory on the track it's no safer "Shoei fitted identical helmets with both systems, bolted the straps to the floor and used a fork lift to lift the helmets simultaneously. The result was both helmets collapsing at the same time, before either of the straps failed."
I’m glad at the end of your video you demonstrated how to remove the liner. It’s so important to me to be able to remove the inner liner and wash it. Nothing worse than,”stink butt helmet” from sweat. As far as the integrated communication stuff your spot on. Let the rider decide what he wants to go with. I had to sell my Sena system and get the “Harley” brand (Sena) system for my WHIM which works fine but yes it was lousy that Harley basically put the squeeze on us to have full stereo use. Mine is for my 2018 SGS. The fact the helmet your showcasing has the intergrated stuff on it made it a no go for me. I personally like Shuberth helmets. I’m overdue for a new one as mine is at least six yrs. old.
The Neotec3 is not the perfect helmet for me, I thought this helmet would be better than my Neotec(1). During my first ride this year with the Neotec3, the impressions were very positive, but after 45 minutes the helmet started to press quite a bit on the sides of my head, this became so bad that I got quite a headache, so I had to stop because continuing to ride was irresponsible. After a break of about half an hour I got up again and drove back home and after 45 minutes the pressure on the sides of my head returned. The manual for the Neotec3 states that after a long period (?) of riding, the helmet can start to press lightly on various points of the head, for which a 2mm padding can be ordered that can be mounted on the center pad. I tried riding with 2mm padding on top of the center pad to see if that would reduce the pressure on my head. Unfortunately that is not the solution for me, it took about 1 hour before the pressure on my head became too intense again. What surprises me is that I can drive for hours on end with the Neotec(1) without the comfort deteriorating, why is that not possible with the new Neotec3, what has changed on the interior. Unfortunately, for me the Neotec3 is a bad buy.
Attention! The biggest difference between Neotec II and neotec 3 is that they changed the headshape. I have a long oval head and always had a hard time to find a perfict fit - only a handful of manufacturers produce really long oval helmets (e.g. Schuberth, BMW, Shoei) especially if we narrow down to modular helmets. I wore many of them but on long, multi-day trips I started to suffer with each, until I found the Neotec II. It perfectly fits my head. I tried Neotec 3 and it is more rounded inside, less comfortable for me. So beware - if your Neotec II was a perfect fit, Neotec 3 might not be. And, in my opinion, a helmet's comfy fit is the very first safety feature. When your head is aching, you can1t focus on riding. Other than that, it was interesting for me to see how different our requirements can be regarding helmet comms. It probably roots in how we ride - I would never ride in a pack of 20-30 riders, but I often take my girlfriend as a pillion for long tours and it is lovely that we can keep chatting during the trip - having navigation info or calls whenever needed also. If you ride fast, and you appreciate a fine helmet's balanced aerodynamics and quietness, why would you screw all that with an afterthought, bolt-on comms solution?
Personally, I love the integrated comm system, it's sleek and unobtrusive. But if you don't like it, stick whatever brand you want on the side of the helmet...
Love my Neotec II , I'm not sure I love the idea of the locking shield on the 3rd version though. Seems to be annoying at a traffic stop or if you need to quickly get air while riding.
Just picked up my Neotec 3 last week to replace my Neotec 2. I really like some of the updates. The fastening system is the only thing that I don’t care for on both of them. I prefer the D-ring system.
We love integrated Comm helmets much better than clamping and/or taping the ugly and odd shaped units to the side of our expensive and perty helmets. In a perfect world we'd just be able to pick our helmet size, color, and the brand of comm we like, and Bob's your uncle!
I'm gonna have to take a hard look at this - I thought it was a good upgrade option, but the integrated thing is not a selling point. I currently have a Neotec 2, and am looking at upgrading to something even quieter. I didn't realize the Neotec 3 had gone off the deep end and joined with Sena. The Sena thing really bugs me. Myself, my hubby, our son, and his friends that we ride with are all utilizing the Cardo units. I have a BrakeFree on the back of my current helmet and that battery door thing for a system I wouldn't use anyway is frankly disappointing. You did a great job of explaining the new things on it in detail, so thank you for that.
Only drag is that the integrated comm unit from the 2 model does not work for the 3. That's another $350! I'll be buying another Neotec 2 at Cycle Gear for $599. Was concerned about the date of manufacture, however, the on at my shop is from September 2023.
I have NeoTec 2 with the intergraded headset. It works good, but I wouldn’t buy the intergraded headset again. I had Sena 20s and after 7 years of use I had to replace it. I find it much more convenient to be able to remove the headset controller to charge the battery and if multiple helmets can be moved helmet to helmet. I find it difficult to get the charge wire plugged into the intergraded helmet and if the helmet is not layer on its side,it rest on the charge wire. I see you use the Cardo brand. I have often wondered how that compares to Sena.
Enjoyable video. Certainly, the POV is by a rider & for anyone. Glad your on the road sir, one of us into the wind. Though I'm a Bell fan, Shoei is my 2nd. 50 yrs on 2 wheels.
Just bought one yesterday to replace my Neotec 2. Which replaced my Neotec which replaced my Multitec. Every "upgrade" was met with a face shield that was progressively more difficult. I could swap the Multitec's shield wearing gloves (really - I've done it). The Neotec 2's shield was a PITA and the 3 has added a third widget to line up when reinstalling. All that being said, it is very comfortable. I've yet to take it out for a ride, but have installed the Sena SRL3.
The fit is amazing the noise reduction spot on and it is updated to the latest safety standard ...your welcome to buy your helmet at Walmart ..its your life!
@@user-ku4yk4ut4z It's spelled "you're" as in "you're welcome." Now, enjoy "your" very expensive helmet. The English lesson was free. "You're" welcome.
@@ppgforme Yes talk to text will do that 2 U don't be MAD . Helmets save lives Walmart destroys dreams enjoy! I will enjoy my life saving noise reducing super helmet thanks!!!
Great review. I purchased the Neotec 3 back in January and love it. I'm also one of those unicorns that purchased the integrated coms units. It only arrived yesterday so have only managed to install it and test in the house. However, initial tests are positive. 95% of my riding will be with a pillion and we wanted a reliable coms system to communicate. Yeah, these are pricy but I'm hoping it meets our needs. I also like the integrated aesthetic as I'm not a big fan of having an external unit bolted onto the side of my helmet.
Very much agree about com systems, a workaround could be if the helmet producers said, her is where you can put the system, and Sena - Cardo would make them fit.
Yeah the wife and I have the integrated neotec 2 w/srl. Had a battery go out in first 6months of one but since then theyve been used regularly for 6yrs now. But it’s time to get new helmets and thanks for the review of the neotec 3 it’s features are a lot better.
I absolutely agree with you regarding the integrated intercom system! Not only that, the Cardo system is far better than Sena in my experience. All I read is problems with all the integrated systems, which seem to be sub standard, however, love Shoei helmets!
Hey Ryan thanks for the video! I have the NeoTec 2 and the problem I have is even fully loose the chin strap is too tight and is uncomfortable and Shoei does not man any type of extended. Is there anyway you could measure the NeoTec 2 vs 3 chin strap length fully loose? I am hoping they made it a little longer on the 3 but not holding my breath!
I like the integrated system. I own this helmet and got the SRL3 to be more streamlined. I also got a Sena impulse helmet and a Simpson helmet, which i added a sena 50c. I own a custom 2023 Harley Davidson Sportster-S, with rear shift level , which I love for my riding style. Looks nothing like when I first bought it. It really now is a sports bike. All parts are from thunder bikes Harley Davidson Custom shop. 🇺🇸
I’m in the market for a new helmet I run a schurberth c4 but recently tried on a neotec 3 really like the way it fit. I have no issues spending the cash for a quality helmet after all you get what you pay for and you only have one head Thanks for the in-depth video
Great video and info. I got my Neo3 and love it! I agree with you 100%. Those integrated systems make me want to pass on helmets. I bought a Schuberth and purchased their integrated system. It simply did not play well with all my riding buddies and their Cardo system. So, I have Packtalk Edge on all my helmets and simply wish these helmet companies would make their newest helmets without integrated systems.
I have both, the Neotech 3 and the Arai corsair X. Both are awesome helmets, and expensive but my face has slammed the pavement twice in my riding journey and good helmets saved my life as a functioning human so I’ll find somewhere else to save dollars. I find the Neotech very hot and stuffy with the chin guard and shield in the down position behind my windshield without the forced air but it’s good without the windshield. The Arai Corsair has so much air flow it’s like having 6 fans inside which I appreciate in the Georgia summer heat.
Great review! I have two helmets with the integrated comms (Sena) on both. I prefer the integration and streamlined installation. However, that is because I Bluetooth to a GMRS radio that has a mile (or more range) and is completely compatible with any GMRS radio system or walkie talkies. I think GMRS is superior for range and flexibility, and any GMRS from any maker is compatible. I don't even need MESH, just Bluetooth to the portable radio, and me and my buddies are all hooked up. -Much respect to you and your review, just a different way to connect to other riders. 😊
I totally agree with your complaints about the integrated comms system. I actually like the idea: it removes the external "appendices", which helps reduce a lot of noise due to wind drag on the unit at high speeds. I use an NXR2 with a Card unit and you can tell the difference in the overall noise level with and without the unit attached to the helmet. In that sense, I would love to be able to just move it into the helmet's interior and keep the external surface clean and smooth, as it was designed and tunnel-tested for. On the other hand, I hate the idea of trashing my existing unit and buying the Sena one just to use this helmet to it's full potential. And to folks like me, not going that path means that we get a fantastic helmet with extra weight and unuseful compartments. Shoei, how hard can it be to let your all-time-returning buyers decide from two options? Why can't you sell two versions of the same helmet: one with Sena, one without Sena (and all the associated crap, ofc). Simple as that 🤷♂
I was about to buy this one. I had a Neotec 2 and loved it. But there is this huge deal breaker (to me, at least!). Last year I burned >200$ on a Cardo system. And now I need to just trash it away and spend a ridiculous amount to get a Senna, if I want to take 100% advantage of this helmet? NO WAY Shoei, nope. I got really frustrated now. It's fantastic to be able to (finally) remove the comms unit from the exterior side of the helmet! No more external appendices hurting the helmet's airflow and performance, plus adding to overall wind noise at high speeds. This alone is indeed a great plus over the competition, IMO. On the other hand, limiting buyers' options to a single brand and expensive model is not the way to go, I guess. Ok, I can just try to plugin my Cardo unit as usual, but that defeats the integrated cooms purpose, and I am paying for something that ultimately just adds weight to the helmet for nothing. It would be great if Shoei could offer two variants: one with the integrated comms slots, and a simpler version without it. I am pretty sure they would sell more units to folks already owning external comms units, even the ones from Senna! Ho well, I might regret it but I will pass on this one :(
My Neotec 2 was a bit noisier than my Neotec 1... hopefully that's better on the 3. I use the integrated SENA with the open Mesh I can connect with everyone fairly easily.
We have used Neotec helmets since the 1 came out on the 2 we use the sena blue tooth system which is superb when it is working, they usually go bad just after the warranty period expires. The biggest problem is sena will not sell you spares the units are quite simple but getting anything for them except batteries (now available from China ) a warning though there are 2 different batteries a 2 wire and a 3 wire so you need to know which one you have. I have tried cardo on my old neotec 1 but the sound quality was very bad compared to the sena system. Just in case someone from sena is watching your customer service is very poor with no support at all apart from the advice to buy another headset?
To your point about the space for a bluetooth device, I completely agree. I am not going to buy their system when when I have already invested in Cardo. It would be great if the helmet industry created a universal mount that the communication companies like Cardo and Sena, etc can utilize instead of trying to force you to one system for that specific helmet family.
I agree with your comments on the integrated bluetooth systems. I know they look slicker but let the consumer decide which system to use. I have several riding buddies that use Cardo and with the Sena system in the Notes 2 it is hard to connect with them. Also if you designed the helmet with out the room for the integrated bluetooth you may be able to save some weight on the helmet. Adding weight is the wrong way to go in this day and age. For the people that like it the drop down tinted visor is great if you use it. I don't. I wish helmet manufacturers would leave that out. But some people will not agree wit that.
LS2 FF811 shield has the same lock...... and I love it. The only thing on Shoei is what can I do with my Cardo ?? And I like Neotec 3 a LOT !!!! maybe I'll wait for No 4.............. Ps: D-ring is safer. You can find out why.
Helmets are the most important gear as have. More important than pipes, Stage 1/2, chrome.... I wear a Simpson, also expensive, but it's an investment I am happy to make.
Thank you for mentioning the fact riders don’t need or want the integrated com systems, I’m a Shoei guy but have 3 Cardo units, I have literally not purchased a new Shoei because of this fact. Lost sells for Shoei.
Arai has always been my first choice, but I moved on because they don’t make modular helmets. Shoei was my second pick, but their push to make Sena comms mandatory doesn’t sit well with me either. So now, I'm turning to AGV. Suggestions are welcome.
I agree, for me, the integrated comm system is detrimental to my personal needs. I'm not a UA-camr or a serious content creator but I do enjoy recording some of my adventures so I run the Sena 50c. The 50c is all inclusive, speakers, camera mic, which makes for ease of use. I would like to purchase the Neotec 3, however I have concerns with the ability to mount my Sena 50c. Ryan, do you have any first hand experience/knowledge using a "sticky mount" with the 50c? Will it mount in a location which allows for the camera to function without capturing the side of the helmet? Thank you for any guidance/advice!
AMEN to that brother! I HATE INTEGRATED COMMS! Let us pick who we want to go with. I'd love to pick up a new Neotec 3 Santori, but since the graphics on Shoei helmets as well as Schuberth helmets both (IMHO) suck, and because of the int comms, I'm now reconsidering HJC for my next helmet. Another missed opportunity for Shoei. Maybe next time...in about 3 to 5 years.
I live in Australia and i finally got a new neotech 3 with the Sena Srl 3 system and i love it it works extremely well i listen to music and take phone calls with just a touch of a button i was using a bell helmet with the Sena 20s and it was very fidgety now its an absolute dream to use with great sound .
My NeoTec 2 has the ratchet straps. The clunky D-Ring is a better system. Fortnine actually did a test. Facts vs opinions. Prove me wrong. I'd love to see your touch on a comprehensive test of the D-Ring vs the ratchet. Good video though. 100% AGREE on integrated comms. Such a bad idea and the very reason I did not buy a Shuberth (can't remove the integrated microphone). Anyways - I removed the comm cover on my Shoei NEoTec and was able to get the Cardo Packtalk to mount just fine.
To prove the strength of the ratchet versus a double D, Shoei fitted identical helmets with both systems, bolted the straps to the floor and used a fork lift to lift the helmets simultaneously. The result was both helmets collapsing at the same time, before either of the straps failed. Fortnine has spread BS more than once.
I normally wear shorty helmets, but i do have atop of the line Arai full face helmet as my rain hat. I have nothing against Shoei, it's just that Arai & Bell helmets fit my forehead best...
The integrated comms are much sleeker and reduce wind noise versus the glue on external modules, so i don’t get the rant. Had the SLR2 in my Neotec 2 (not impressed) and now SLR3 in my Neotec 3 and it is great!
Cardio could keep up by building integrated. The irony is thatHD is also forcing use of a comms system to integrate into. The SENA system will match other systems using the smart app.
The intercom is the reason I didn't buy the last version of the Neotec. I've had the Sena and the Cardo versions and prefer the Cardos. I have a Schuberth C4 Pro that I love to wear, but have yet to use the Sena that comes with it.
I own the second generation Shoei, and I like my Simpson Mod better. The lens removal system is better. No integrated sena. The lens moves better. The mod portion when up not only does not fall down but can be locked in the up position. The best part is I didn't have to sell a kidney to buy it. My opinion is that the Simpson Mod helmet is hands down the better helmet. Thanks for the review, though, but I think I will use my Simpson and leave my Shoei in the garage where it belongs.
I fully agree that integrated com are a nonsense ! If manufacturers want something integrated then just integrate mic and speakers and propose jacks or minijacks to which the intercom of the customer would plug to. Please Shoei, understand bikers do not have only one helmet, and they might not even be from the main manufacturer, still the external intercom could then be carried from one to another in a single lick. Also, another aberration of the integrated Sena is that putting it on charge means that you cannot use your helmet ! My intercom can be detached and even put in charge under the saddle on my bike if I were to go low battery on it. Can you do that with an integrated Sena ? I really wish Shoei would propose a free standard interface that would just act as "2 jacks to provide connectivity to mic an speakers" (honestly, it is not that hard, you would only need 4 wire/contacts : 1 for the ground, 1 for the mic, 2 for speakers). That would then allow intercom manufacturer to use this free standard and allow for customers to get the best riding experience !
Good review of the Neotec 3. Thanks for posting it. Do you wear eyeglasses or sunglasses when you ride? If so, have you had a chance to wear glasses with the Neotec 3? How do they fit? Thanks again.
I thought my last helmet was expensive, also a Shoei, but under 300 bucks. Now, I bought it in 2011 when my first wife had cancer, & she is cancer free, passed in 2012. I change my oil & filters, not going to change my helmet. Took my wife to her grave with it, so that it what I use. I did change the visor for clarity. Love most of your videos. Thank you :-) I watched more, & I do not like ANY SOUND on the mc except for the mc. No phone, no CD, no radio, NOTHING. A helmet should be protection, & that is it.
Ryan, is the sunshield deeper on the 3? I heard it was but can't confirm. I feel like the sunshield on my 2 would be better if it went down a half inch or so more. Also, is the chin strap moved forward at all? Not easy to do on a modular I know. Feel like the chin strap on my 2 would be more comfortable if it was a little more forward, cuts in to my neck a bit.
I just looked at your website to order one, and it shows about $400 more than you said, I want to support your channel and was going to order one but I am Canadian and don’t want to pay that much. I would love to have one. If you could possibly get me one for less, at the price you said I would definitely order one. Thanks for all your reviews and all videos. They are great.
I am pretty sure you haven’t use the sena sle3 system I absolutely love that system I will highly recommend you buying it and then do a review after that I am telling you is game changer
Thankfully you have a platform that can potentially reach some helmet manufacturers. I absolutely despise integrated comms. They pigeon hole you into a sub par model from a brand that you might be opposed to and as you said, render the side of the helmet useless.
Can’t use the integrated com system with Harley they don’t sell a Harley approved srl now the only one you can buy is the Sena 50c since they switched to cardo
Thank you for your great review I got neotec 2 And I will also get 3 soon I agree with you on coms I personally do not use them at all What a waste of effort and money from shoei I wish they had spent that money on other improvements and variety of design and colours
Really a G note for a helmet. I don't care how many bells and whistles it has, there's no way that any helmet is worth $1,000.00 U.S. In 1968 we wore Bell helmets for $39.99 U.S. I will stick with my Bell Pit Boss $150.00 CDN. FYI when we buy U.S. dollars we pay 1.39 CDN. That translates into $1,400.00 CDN for your $1,000.00 helmet.
I have the blue helmet Shoei Neotec 3. I find that with the top vent open, I have a lot of wind noise in the helmet. It is actually very noisy. I think the Neotec 2 was quieter. I do like the airflow from the front, a lot better than the Neotec 2.
Do you ride with or without a fairing? I've have (bad) noise issues because my helmet was in the buffet zone and changing my windshield made all the difference.
@@hdflht01 Good idea. Yes, I have an adjustable windshield. I will play around with that. I have a road trip next week. Also, don't get me wrong, if I close that top vent, then the helmet is really quiet. It is a great helmet :)
I did raise my windshield, and it did help with the noise. I also examined my helmet, and I found that I have seal that was not seated properly at the corner of the visor. I have corrected that as well. Nice quiet helmet now. Thanks.
I noticed that there were no speakers in the cut-outs. Are those sold separately or just in the box to be put in later. OR will my old Sena HD speakers work with this unit?
Rock on!! If you choose to upgrade, we do have them in stock now and we'll take care of you ==> shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/shoei-motorcycle-helmets *Haven't seen the B&W LE yet for the 3. Sure it will come out.
I prefer the d ring because it is infinitely adjustable to fraction of a mm. The lock is not. You have maybe 3-4 adjustable zones. I have found often it is either too tight or too loose. Wont buy a helmet with a latch

Shout out Austalia! thanks for watching. Ride safe.
Does the battery come out easily to be charged? Or does it have to stay in the helmet while charging?
I paid $31,000 for my motor. I can certainly afford a $1k helmet. I've had cheap and I've had $800 helmets. Never went back to cheap.
Keep it up!
I love my integrated srl3. One of the reasons I got this one.
Great review ....Ive been using the Neotec 3 since Nov bought mine in November it is absolutely the best helmet ive ever owned !
I love the integrated comm system, it's sleek and unobtrusive.
what speakers are inside
I’m overdue for a new one as mine is at least six yrs. old.
I've reviewed and tested the Schuberth. Great helmet. A bit quieter, but the comfort goes to Shoei. IMO. Depends on shape of head.
Nice review on the helmet. The way the chin strap secures is subjective. Some like a pair of double D’s.
I just like the integrated intercom, thats the reason I want this helmen
Love my Neotec II , I'm not sure I love the idea of the locking shield on the 3rd version though. Seems to be annoying at a traffic stop or if you need to quickly get air while riding.
It's there if you value the arguably higher safety but you don't need to use it.
Just picked up my Neotec 3 last week to replace my Neotec 2. I really like some of the updates. The fastening system is the only thing that I don’t care for on both of them. I prefer the D-ring system.
Cardo has an adapter for the Neotec 1 and 2. I imagine it is just a matter of time before they come out with the adapter for the 3
We love integrated Comm helmets much better than clamping and/or taping the ugly and odd shaped units to the side of our expensive and perty helmets.
Love the Neotec2. The 3 should be awesome !!!
I’ve heard the comfort liner comes out of the helmet kinda easily. Unlike the ones that mount with a snap system
I think that Cardo has an adapter for the mount that plugs into the Sena mount. I don't know if they have one for this model helmet.
Man, for that money, it better have a heads up display with an integrated navigation and weapons lock system. Yikes!
@@ppgforme Also it's a head up display, not heads up. Boom!
@@PhatSimey LOL! Ya got me.
Best, get to the point, review I’ve found on this helmet. Appreciate it! 👍
Thank you for a very helpful review. Was thinking about a Knotek three upgrading from O’Tech to and I think you solidified that choice.
Cardo does make an adapter mount for some for their newer models which allows the use of the integrated mount location on the helmet.
I love my Neotec and SLR3. I think it look perfect and great intercom. I do see any issue with the sena blend in.
I’m in the market for a new helmet I run a schurberth c4 but recently tried on a neotec 3 really like the way it fit. I have no issues spending the cash for a quality helmet after all you get what you pay for and you only have one head
Thanks for the in-depth video
Ho well, I might regret it but I will pass on this one :(
Agreed.....
Would certainly test the market of they made one with and one without 🙂 Oh, and standardise the bloody comms protocol like Bluetooth and wi-fi are.
Photochromatic shields should come standard on these. Instead, you're expected to shell out another $190. Add the comm at $375 = $1465. Ouch.
@@bebopredux agreed, for that much money....
Cardo makes an adapter for the NeoTec. Takes advantage of the integrated system.
My Neotec 2 was a bit noisier than my Neotec 1... hopefully that's better on the 3. I use the integrated SENA with the open Mesh I can connect with everyone fairly easily.
I am very happy with my Neotech2 not ready to change yet .I do have change the strap on my scorpion , not really a d-rig fan. and agree on the com.
I use the shoei cardo mount for my neotech 2’s. Coat a couple bucks more for that specific mount which Shoei should include.
I use a Shoei RF-1400 full face as well as the NeoTec 2. I am a life long fan of Shoei helmets. I’m not surprised the Neo 3 is stellar.
I have had 1 2 and 3 and love the integrated Sena in the 3 and many other blood runners over hear use it
Thank you for mentioning the fact riders don’t need or want the integrated com systems, I’m a Shoei guy but have 3 Cardo units, I have literally not purchased a new Shoei because of this fact. Lost sells for Shoei.
What helmet do you prefer for the Cardo?
Cardo Shoei Adapter fits in the Neotec 2 and 3 helmets
Great job, very informative.
Thank you!
It came down to the Shoei or the HJC i91 I went with the HJC couldn’t pull the pin for the $1000 price tag and HJC fits me well
Thanks for vid. I have the white Santori, my first modular. Leaving my old RF900 behind.
Good choice!
Thank you :-)
I watched more, & I do not like ANY SOUND on the mc except for the mc.
When will you have more quick snaps. Or where else can we get them?
I just looked at your website to order one, and it shows about $400 more than you said, I want to support your channel and was going to order one but I am Canadian and don’t want to pay that much. I would love to have one. If you could possibly get me one for less, at the price you said I would definitely order one. Thanks for all your reviews and all videos. They are great.
I am pretty sure you haven’t use the sena sle3 system
I absolutely love that system
I will highly recommend you buying it and then do a review after that
I am telling you is game changer
I got my Shoei from my local dealer fitted to my head so anyone who has a neotec ii or fitted Shoei helmet
Completely agree with integrated comms. Cardo is superior.
I use the sina integrated headset for the FM radio, and the stereo music
Thankfully you have a platform that can potentially reach some helmet manufacturers. I absolutely despise integrated comms. They pigeon hole you into a sub par model from a brand that you might be opposed to and as you said, render the side of the helmet useless.
Can’t use the integrated com system with Harley they don’t sell a Harley approved srl now the only one you can buy is the Sena 50c since they switched to cardo
Thank you for your great review
I got neotec 2
And I will also get 3 soon
I agree with you on coms
I personally do not use them at all
What a waste of effort and money from shoei
I wish they had spent that money on other improvements and variety of design and colours
No emergency release cheek pads? Or is that not possible on flip front helmets?
What is the best solution for mounting a SENA?
what does it mean if my helmet makes me claustrophobic when i have it on.
Thanks.
Wow you talked me into it. Now all I have to do is buy a bike.
I’m glad you demonstrated that shield locking multiple times 😂 and do you have a video of replacing the chin straps or is it super easy
Super easy, but video coming at some point on the channel.
I noticed that there were no speakers in the cut-outs. Are those sold separately or just in the box to be put in later. OR will my old Sena HD speakers work with this unit?
Perfect, thank you for the review. Had NeoTec 1, currently NeoTec 2, and ready to look for 3.
Do they do the LE B&W versions on NeoTec 3?
Rock on!! If you choose to upgrade, we do have them in stock now and we'll take care of you ==> shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/shoei-motorcycle-helmets
*Haven't seen the B&W LE yet for the 3. Sure it will come out.
yes i love my rf 1400 i have two of them. best helmet ever.
Does the new chinstrap work with standard helmet locks?
I prefer the d ring because it is infinitely adjustable to fraction of a mm. The lock is not. You have maybe 3-4 adjustable zones. I have found often it is either too tight or too loose. Wont buy a helmet with a latch
This was my next go to helmet until I saw that it comes with tha integrated system I have cardo and prefer to that.
Agreed! Lose the com integration. Unnecessary.
I love my Shoei helmets.
You got an upvote for complaining about the integrated com system.
