I fixed it by smashing my head on the keyboard
that probably is cause it moved the conector for your keyboard and it fixed it

That is funny you mention this, it has happened to me before also. Another similar phenomena occurs when you have to go through an automated answering service to get to customer service. Enough to just annoy the living day lights out a person.

Thank you,solution no#4 solved my keyboard malfunctioning problem. I just turned off sticky keys and filter keys settings, keyboard started functioning normal.

What i do some keys are working some are not
This was so helpful. My keyboard stop working. I logged in and then checked for updates and it worked💯
right on. all other tech sites didn't suggest the keyboard fix.. this guy did. when keyboard driver fix doesn't work.. or anything else.. he suggests to check the synaptic driver.. reinstalled and fixed. 2 thumbs up. dude.

EVERYONE IF THESE DIDN'T WORK FOR YOU, JUST DO A SYSTEM RESTORE!! (look it up if you don't know how to, it doesn't delete any files or damage anything, it simply reverts your settings to a previous date when everything was working fine, it was the only way i fixed my issues)
Yeah, my keyboard my stopped working for specific keys earlier today (letters y/u/h/j/n/m and numbers 6/7) and i looked all around youtube for resolutions (uninstalling drivers etc), even ended up opening up the laptop and trying to clean the connector for the keyboard, but nothing did the trick, but then i did a system restore to like two days prior and it fixed everything.

Thank you so much. I took my laptop apart, unfortunately I didn't have the same model as you I have a HP so my keyboard connector wire was on the bottom of my laptop. I disconnected the wire and cleaned it and reconnected it and it's now working properly. Only took me about 20 minutes with no PC repair experience. It is totally worth the try. I think a shop probably would of charged me over 100 dollars to fix it.

This helped me resolve my issue. I had to Uninstall the keyboard from my device manager and restarted my computer. My keyboard then started working. Thank you!
The only solution that actually works, well done my issue was the synaptic driver. Deleted it restarted and windows worked perfectly. Thank you!

What a great video, I tried all possibilities to fix mine without success but perhaps there is an easy solution to my dilemma. My keyboard was working fine until my cat sat on the keyboard, first it went haywire and typed all kind of numbers, symbols etc. After restarting it does not type anything. Maybe you can suggest something else? In any case loved the video, very clear and easy to follow.
Thanks Hannele, I will suggest you try reseatung the keyboard connector cable by removing and hooking it back, if that fails try an external keyboard, if that works maybe you need a keyboard replacement

I just used your tutorial, thank you. I was able to login via the onscreen keyboard, then Identified that I accidentally clicked the screenlock key-simple fix to click it off and get back to work. Thank you!

While none of your solutions fixed my problem individually, I found that by combining them, my problem was solved. I enabled filter keys, uninstalled my keyboard drivers, rebooted, and disabled filter keys, my keyboard worked again. Pretty weird that they didn't work by themselves but did all together.

GUYS AFTER TRYING EVERYTHING I FIGURED IT OUT AND IT IS AN EASY FIX!! If it's not the software and hardware, just take eyeglass cleaning solution, I use eyeglass wipes or use rubbing alcohol and gently clean the keyboard cable ribbon and the connector at the motherboard and WALLAH!! It re-establishes a connection to the motherboard. I am so so happy.
