- Fellow Patriots & Freedom lovers, I was peacefully exercising my 1st Amendment Rights at the Southaven City Hall & Police Department in Mississippi. At first everything was going great, the Deputy City Clerk Ashley was a pleasure to deal with…Then I went to the Police Department and ran into two of the most ignorant supervisors I’ve ever encountered. They tried to intimidate me and make up completely ridiculous laws but got shut down immediately! I won’t let this go! They need to be reprimanded for their disgraceful behavior and lack of knowledge! The only place my child ever received a ticket in their lives. We were on vacation and of course had Out of State Tags.
What they didn't realize is that we had front and back Dash Cams. So we actually made a trip back to Mississippi when the trial date was and presented all the videos including our Google Speedometer which showed date and time and that we were 10miles under the speed limit as we were looking at the scenery and had slowed down for that specifically. I had my phone camera of the time and dated stamp that showed that was exactly what I was filming.
They had put down that they clicked us at 25 over the speed limit. That was 40 mph faster than we were actually driving.

So he just admitted that their policy is to get everyone’s ID on every encounter, regardless of a crime being committed.
A policy that directly attempts to violate unsuspecting citizens constitutional rights.
And he admitted that the reason is that you now will be a suspect in the event of crimes in the future. So if someone vandalizes a vehicle or the building, guess whom they contact first - pretty much forever in the future? Similar to the almost always illegal "prior restraint" sometimes imposed on speech.

Yep. He admitted that this is their policy to violate 4th ammendment in every case. You should ask for copy of this policy in writing.
@@clown134 there is no difference, and according to COUNTLESS officers that I've seen say this, they believe that "we got a call" is justification enough to ID anybody. So all it takes is an anonymous call, which usually reports NO CRIME, is enough to suspend someone's rights.

IIM ME: I served for over 45 years (military and civilian service) and Ashley is rare among the civil servants I dealt with. She deserves the commendations rendered here and her Supervisor(s) should take note for her next performance appraisal.

Yeah, if it was a “lawful order”, how did you walk away freely without following it? The officer will claim that he cut you a break. In reality he had nothing. That cop was just spouting off at the mouth expecting you to bow to his perceived authority. He even said “what’s the difference between you & me?” Nothing really until you break the law.

Hey Sean, Ashley at city hall, was definitely a shining light for the city and the staff. Her polite, professional, and courteous manner,was absolutely refreshing. The lieutenant and sargent,are examples of tyrants. They're both aware of law, and the constitution. In spite of them knowing the law, they tried to threaten, and intimidate you. When they realized, that you were aware of your rights, they tucked their tails and left. It's unfortunate that some law enforcement officials, continue to live in that negative mental straight jacket. They continue to embarrass themselves, and the uniform. As usual sean your calm, insightful manner,is a true asset. I believe that is one of the many reasons, why you have a lot of success, with your videos. Keep up the outstanding work Sean.👍

Love how he specifically drew a line between what he can do (pointing at his badge) and what you (or the public) are allowed to do. He was completely deflated when you knew your rights and corrected him, earning you a label as 'one of those guys' as usual. If they could do anything further you know they would have. A classic definition of a bully and tyrant. Great job as usual keeping calm and de-escalating the situation.
I'll go a step further to say that they know what they are doing is wrong, which is why they scurried away so quickly. When we break the law or commit a driving infraction there are swift and tangible outcomes, but for them it's another day at the office.
We all need to be "one of those guys", it's the only way to hold public servants accountable for their insane behavior.

when a LT is this ignorant on the laws, it means every subordinate he is responsible for is likely just as ignorant or willfully violates the laws as well since the LT will give them a pass... its stunning when someone makes it to that level and is this ignorant... departments like this will only understand repeated lawsuits, and they depend on the average citizen being unable to afford one...

@@xziang exactly. Cops with the law on their side don't actually bother to earn your cooperation. They do what they want (mostly) within the bounds of the law. But it's well established that the Lt was within his rights to blatantly lie to achieve his goals. As long as deception is a legal tool of the police, no cop should ever be trusted. Period.

The scariest thing about this encounter is how much "Perceived power" these officers believe the shameful shield they wear grants them. Then the LT's scoffing at the difference between public property and private property is pretty blatant in pointing out the LT(and probably the whole department) will change their interpretation of the law to suit their narrative, knowing that in the end the worst they'll get for it is a week of desk duty and a reprimand.

It’s strange how in person on a call the cops are the smartest dudes alive that even at times claim to know more about specific laws than someone’s lawyer… yet once they are in court they give sworn testimony claiming they didn’t know better and failed to understand the law which in turn allows them to be granted qualified immunity… not only did judges make a clearly corrupt ideal that is qualified immunity they absolutely know when there is video evidence that the cop clearly is lying under oath and had training on that specific law yet still allow them to break the law and disobey their training so long as it involves teaching the citizens a lesson… ever heard of a cop violating a government employee or other cop or anyone more important than us get away with claiming he just didn’t know better…

@@richardbutkis Of course. Most cops never went to college either. The intimidation factor comes with their on-the-job training. Give a man a uniform, a badge, and a gun, and little or no training in the law, and he will think he IS THE LAW.

The first lady was a total sweetheart. She needs to be rewarded I know she was doing her job yet she just was so cool and helpful. Such a nice thing to see and thank you for showing some good from her. Most are assholes. Somebody send her a thank you.

That cop said it's their "Policy" to I.D. everyone they talk to. Which means it's their "Policy" to "VIOLATE" everyone rights that they talk to.

First off, Ashley was perfect in the way she handled her interaction with you. A+++ for Ashley. But of course the police never disappoint. Law enforcement officers should have to EARN qualified immunity. WHY is it dished out like candy to children??? They should earn it by showing that they’re good public servants, not just overgrown bullies pushing their weight around because they have a badge and a gun. AND they should KNOW the law. Plus it should be set up so they could also LOSE their qualified Immunity by their actions/wrong doings. We would have much better and responsible cops if qualified immunity was earned AND if they KNEW they could also lose it. WHY should We The People have to pay for their mistakes that are mostly made out of ego/ignorance? This may be the only way to weed out the bad law enforcement officers.

When he said “What’s the difference between you and me” clearly shows his mindset and how he’s trying to argue that because he’s a cop he’s above the law lol no cops have to follow the same laws we do they’re not exempt just because they’ve officers. Being a cop doesn’t come with the perks of being able to commit crimes and get away with it. Being a cop means your going to follow an even stricter code than the law and your upholding the constitution. Meaning your handed power not because your expected to abuse it, but because your expected to responsibly wield that power to uphold the constitution. You are not the judge, juror, or executioner.

Correct, a law enforcement officer only has a limited amount of "power" over any citizen, when the citizen actually breaks a law! Otherwise, they are just another person, who happens to be in a uniform, they enforce "laws", not a policy/procedure, feelings.

So few of these guys know the definition of a “lawful order”. It’s not “ I’m the law and I’m giving you an order.” I enjoyed how quickly they dropped the nonsense when they figured out they were in over their heads & about to violate Constitutional Rights.
With how much they ALL violate people's rights then it'll very soon get to where almost everyone will ignore almost all "lawful orders" as well. The profession deserves no respect by anyone anymore. I don't even think they deserve a paycheck for it. It should simply be a volunteer service that only gets rewarded for at income tax time. We'll see real heroes doing that duty if this change happened
