Not to be hyper-critical Sean but why did you spend so long going around and around with the head of Environmental services? You answered his questions several times, as such I would have disengaged with him after the first round of Q&A. I appreciate your style and being polite is a big part of it but there is a time when the dialog becomes redundant and superfluous. Keep up your work, Happy 4th of July.

A police officer who can't control their emotions is a liability, not an asset. The sooner this man-child is relieved of his duties, the better.
That's why he is in the building and not on the streets. Someone should FOI his police record, it will probably tell the story. Environmental employee is over stepping his bounds, it all goes back to who works for who. Taxes pay for federal and government services. These are some entitled workers who think they are better then the average citizen. I know first hand I worked with a lot of them. Nice Job!

I agree. However, not know what a double negative is, is certainly not his greatest downfall. Also, as you witnessed this unprofessionalism was acquired honestly from his superior. I am not by any stretch of the imagination a “defund the police” type person. What I am is a believer that public servants be respectful and transparent. My way to handle a subordinate with this type attitude toward a member of the public would be, 1st time = reprimand 2cd time = demotion 3 rd time= termination. If all sheriffs and police chiefs would adopt that policy today, within a few short months that issue would happen seldom if ever. As long as these leaders act the same way toward the public, the problem will never get any better. A video Sean did in Pooler Ga is another great example.

Disagree about it having to be advanced. Just the basics would be plenty, but even that would be a miracle. I remember when I was in the military. They gave me absolutely ZERO training on the Constitution, and then required me to swear that I would uphold and defend it.

Never been to Mississippi, but if DeSoto county receives even one penny of federal funding, then they owe me the full range of services. This nonsense that some cops pull, asking if you're a resident, goes directly against the constitution and most mission statements.
What if someone wants to move to the town? Obviously they have to use the services in order to get information if they want to move there in the future.

As s citizen of DeSoto County, I am embarrassed that our people acted in this manner. I'll be forwarding this to officials in the county. Maybe one day they'll have another chance to get it done in the correct manner.

You and a fellow resident should do a follow-up audit at an upcoming public meeting or hearing to see if your told to leave under threat of arrest if you don't turn your camera off. If you are, then you need to bring a suit against the county for not only civil rights , but also violation of the state open-records statute.
