Yes! I'm just now getting into nail stamping , and I didn't even know this existed until less than a week ago... I bought a kit from Walmart but it only came with 2 stamping polishes so I was definitely wonder if l.a. colors would work cause that's the polishes I have

2022 and this popped up when I asked youtube for can I use regular polish for stamping. I tried a yellow LA Colors and it was horrible, I assume due to the polish being really runny and not thick. But I only have 1 stamper rubber thingy. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us!

I stamp with sinful colors a lot. Good stamper and a good coverage polish will almost always work. Reallllyyy sticky stamper is the key

My kleancolor polishes usually work well for stamping, it seems like the thicker/more opaque colors always work best.
Oddly enough, I've seen others use LA Colors whit polish for stamping or for using over Sharpies on stamping plates as well & I cannot for the life of me get the white to work lol. I've gotten some darker colors work before from the LA Colors brand, but they do seem to evaporate quickly from the stamper & plate if you don't move fast enough. Just bought the Sinful Colors white, which I've seen work great, so I'm hoping that can replace my white stamping polish that's almost gone. Awesome video! Glad I found this 'cause it definitely gives more insight to what polishes work good & which ones don't.
Sally Hanson works nice... Try that one. I found that it works I got some from the dollar store or dollar tree

Thanks so much for your video, that was very informative! I have a suggestion for the polish that doesn't come off the plate. I had the same problem and I heard somewhere that adding another layer of fresh nail polish to a dry existing one helps in the removal, at least it does for nails. So I tried spreading a layer of colorless base coat on the plate and then cleaned it again, aaaaand everything came off! I hope this helped.

thank you for this video. I painted my nails red and stamped a design with white polish but when I applied it, the white doesn’t look too white. like faded or like the color is barely there as if I have to apply another coat. I can’t explain it well. I was thinking maybe I need to let the color dry out so it can thicken. what do you think? thank you!

06kurri yeah she's right the brand Pinapi I think it's called wouldn't work I went to do my stamping story tag it was months old and what do you know.. it works now!! Lol I was ready to toss the colors that didn't work! Several had tossed theirs!! Only the silver had been working! I just couldn't give up on it lol!

Duari Weiss thanks so much! I’m very glad I could help you! To be honest I just use the very tips or the pads of my fingers to clean things with acetone. I’ve had nails so long now it just becomes second nature not to use the tips of my fingers!

I have a stamping plate but I don’t have a stamper and I don’t know if I can use thins without a regular stamper
Omg, that looks like my case with all those stamper plates. I stopped stamping cause I didn't know how to clean the stamper and I was told to use acetone so it discourage me cause mt stamper was ruined. And I didn't know about stamping polish. This is new to me. However, I'm ready to get back to it.

I can stamp with any polish. I use dollar tree nail polish and it works every time. The trick is to not scrape so hard, and lightly roll your stamper over the image. I have the best luck with the pueen clear nail stamper, but most plates work perfect.

I would love to know the brand of the clear stamper that you mentioned always works for you. I have the Born Pretty one and it always seems to stop picking up the design after a few stamps.

Go to Wal-Mart and get the pueen clear nail stamper it under 5 dollar a and it comes with a scraper. Trick is to not scrape so hard and lightly roll your stamper over the image.

I also have that clear stamper but it doesn't pick up with the stamping polish not even gel polish 😁 also, do you clean the board with ordinary acetone? I'm just not lucky with stamping 😒

simb231 Yes I always use 100% acetone on my plates! I find anything other than that will leave a residue and the next stamp won’t pick up as clear! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Good luck

This was very informative, but could you do an actual nail from start to finish. I'm not sure when to put under lamp, if different polishes can go under lamp if gel is used as a base, etc. TIA
Regular nail polish isn't uv/led activated. You have to use gel polish.
You have to have gel base, gel polish and gel top coat. You cure each time..cure after base and after each coat of polish or top coat you use.

Hi, I got pueen templates and pueen stamping nail polish however I cannot get the stamp on my stamper any suggestions? The stamper i got is a clear silicone stamper.
Tania Lopez my best advice to you would be to use a ton of polish, scrape fast and roll the stamper very fast! Also try using a lint roller or tape to “prime” the stamper head. Iv had this problem in the past but not too often with the clear stampers. I hope this helps! ( practice makes perfect) thanks for watching

Samra Rahman My best advice for you is use a different stamper. You could also try priming your stamper with tape, This helps with some types of stamper heads. Also try using a thin scraper and only gently scraping the polish over the plate once!

So, I really hope you can help me with this. I’m brand new at stamping and ordered a few stamping plates and a jelly stamp, but for some reason my stamping place won’t work. I would put the polish on the plate and scrape it over the design but the polish would just slide on the plate. If that makes sense. I’m thinking that the stamping plate doesn’t have any indents on it, but I feel indents when I feel the plate, sorry if this is confusing. Please help 🙏🙏

Use a magic eraser to prime the plate they come with an oil film on them and you have to rough them up a little
I'm totally new to this. So you don't have to use stamping polish? What's the difference between regular nail polish and what's in the stamping kits? I'm so confused lol
Stamping polish is thicker and more pigmented. Therefore it also dries slower than regular polish, which gives you less stress when stamping.

shay cornett I’m sorry to hear that, what brand of plate are you using? Also I would highly recommend using stamping polish! Pween’s bran is great but I like most brands😍
Try to scrape the plate at an angle and don’t press too hard, you may be removing too much polish. I hope this helps! Good luck and thanks for watching!

April Seif Well it really depends upon what plate and what kind of polish you’re using. My favorite is the clear sticky stamper shown in this video. But also shown in this video, it doesn’t always work the best. I would get yourself a bunch of “cheap“ stamper heads from Amazon or eBay and try them for yourself.

I'm very upset all my Walgreen's don't sell Sinful Colors anymore I'd wait when they would go on sale for $0.99 and buy the whole new Collections and now I can't even buy one I know they sold well does anybody have any information on this
I loved Sinful Colors. Walgreens no longer carries that brand and

sunitha reddy You’ll have to get a more expensive and pigmented nail polish if you want to stamp with regular nail polish. I’ve done it before just experiment with your colors! And be fast!! Regular nail polish dries so much faster than stamping polish!

My Maniology stamper is just like your marshmallow stamper 🤦🏼♀️ I can't get it to pick up worth a shit even with my Maniology STAMPING polish 🤷🏼♀️ drives me absolutely INSANE! I just told my hubby tonight that I want to go to either Walmart or Sally's and see if I can get a different one so I can stamp my daughter's nails for the holidays 🙄 I absolutely hate free styling Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years designs 🤫
This just convinced me to not buy any stamping kits. I wanted to try it, but eh... to much work, it's messy and alot of headaches it seems.

Rachel Hartshorn I have, unfortunately the acrylic paint gets washed up when you stamp it on the nail. And it’s a pain in the butt to get out of the plates as well!

Not everyone has access to online purchases or even can afford things like that. I was given a bunch of free nail polish when I first started and I am so grateful because I would’ve never been able to do what I do without it.

I made the comment because the video was based more on how much of a pain it can be trying to find the right polish that will work properly with nail stamping. So instead of going through all that, just buy nail stamping polish. There is a such thing as saving to get what you want if you have other responsibilities, and can't dish out the money in one shot. Hell I know! Took me 18 months, and spent over 5 grand collecting all of Notpolish acrylics. I have a career that I love, but acrylic nail application is a hobby I enjoy. I don't have clients, and only do mine and my daughters nails. My mom always told me if you want something that's going to last, spend the extra buck; because sometimes you end up paying more in the long run, to replace the inexpensive dupe you bought that doesn't work as well as you hoped.
