    Very glad you visited my country Gabriel, hope you enjoyed it.You missed few goodies. You should definetly visit Postojna cave where "human fish" lives and Predjamski grad(castle). If you like to climb, try our highest peak Triglav at 2864m, but don't climb with flip flops.

      Gabriel Traveler I was watching this video before hahahah.
      Hey Gabriel!!! I come from Greece and i found your UA-cam channel few hours ago and I've already subscribed 😂. I was thinking (if you come again to Greece) that you should check other places instead of islands. 80% of Greece is mountainous (you probably know that). A good idea would be to check our fir forests and the wildlife of Greece.
      Also, I think here in Greece there is the largest palm forest in Europe and the location is called Vai( In Crete i think)
      Keep travelling and be safe my friend. (I don't speak so good English:p)

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  7 років тому +4

      Cool, no problem. Yeah I know there's a lot more to Greece than just the islands. I've been to some other parts such as the Peloponnese peninsula, the Pelion peninsula, Delphi, Meteora, climbed Mt. Olympus, Thessaloniki, but that was before I was making youtube videos.

    Hi! I really want something challenge hiking there! I'm asking about wild camping in Slovenia at a few page already but no respond. There is really forbidden the wild camping? If I want a long distance hiking in Slovenia how can I do same as Appalachian trail?

  • @TheLoreGeek

    We are going to Slovenia this september.
    Would buying hiking boots be mandatory?
    Visited Norway in plain sneakers and we were fine.

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  7 років тому +1

      I just hike in my shoes, but they're sturdy shoes made for being active. Depends on what kind of shoes you mean. Definitely want something with some grip and support if you plan to hike up the mountains.

    • @MoiCayley
      @MoiCayley 7 років тому +1

      TheLoreGeek That depends on the mountains you would like to hike ... we have a lot of easy paths where sneakers are enough (for example Velika planina, Šmarna gora and such). If you would like to hike on higher mountains like seen here, then I would say that hiking boots (and often other hiking equipment, at least helmet) are desirable, if not mandatory. Also, please check the weather before you go on a hike, because it changes very quickly and that can be a problem. :) You can also check this website: www.hiking-trail.net/ It has descriptions of mountains and paths and you can also see the photos :)

    • @TheLoreGeek
      @TheLoreGeek 7 років тому +1

      Thanks a lot for this! :)
      We aim to hike mount Krn. But as far as i've read, it's a fairly easy hike?

    • @MoiCayley
      @MoiCayley 7 років тому +3

      Not a problem ;)
      If you are planing on going just to the Lake Krn, than good running shoes are enough. To the top of mount Krn I personally would use hiking boots. The path is still rocky and it's better to be safe than sorry :) And one more tip: to the top of mount Krn you need cca. 5 hours ... if you really want to enjoy the hike, you can sleep in a hut on top. The sunset, stars and the sunrise are amazing!

    • @Polyboy70
      @Polyboy70 6 років тому +1

      It seems, I am too late with this comment, but anyway.
      I am very often in the Alps and I must say, to wear hiking boots is one of the first unwritten rules in the Alps. Many accidents happen, because tourists wear just sneakers. They don't bring just themselves into danger, but as well the rescue team.
      Many unexpected things can happen in the high mountains. How do you eg wanna walk on wet rocks with sneakers? Much too dangerious and even uncomfortable. Todays mountain boots are light and perfect to walk long distances. Don't look on the price tag, take the ones which fit and for sure a good brand, means a brand with a good reputation and history in producing mountain shoes, eg Lowa or Meindl or some other good brand.
      My mountain shoes saved at least one time my life and even as an experianced hiker, I would never go in the alps without mountain boots.
      If it is really just more a walk or hike on flat terrain, sneakers are enough.
