Comunque sia Tom tante grazie. Sai io ho 48 anni, quindi non piu giovanissimo,ma circa un anno e mezzo fà ho deciso di imparare l'inglese che non avevo mai studiato prima a scuola. Avevo studiato il francese. Devo dire che con molto impegno e con tanti video visti stò cominciando a raccogliere i frutti del mio sudato impegno !! Grazie quindi a te e a tutti gli altri che pubblicano video interessanti come il tuo !!
I'm learning Italian at school and my teacher makes no sense. You're really helping me and its pulling my grades up. Grazie mille! How and when did you learn Italian?
Hi, I know these videos are from a while back but you’re the only source I’ve found who explains the grammatical side of Italian in a way that is easy to follow along and understand. All the other articles and videos I found are were not helpful!! Thank you so much for these. They have been so helpful!!!!
Tom - you do a great job of explaining Italian grammar ! Looking at the choice of videos is like opening a box of chocolates and wanting to try them all !! Thank you x
I have been trying to italian and subjects like this are hard to get around your head when treading about them. However, watching you put human naturalness instead of hard facts has really helped. You sir have earned a subscriber. :)
I love your videos I was searching for videos to teach me but everyone was either boring or not teaching properly and I am new to ur channel but I love your videos and your ways of teaching, definitely will be watching more
Weilààààà Toooom :) I´ve completely fallen in love with your teachings of the Italian language!!! You are doing such a fantaaastic job!!! I ´ve found your channel today and can´t stop watching!! Guess what? I´ve started my ITALIAN notebook right away and don´t wanna stop learning! Guess I´ll be through all of your videos tonight. This is the first time someone explaining the italian language in such an easy way!! Have I mentioned that I love you *haha* ... well, I am really thankful for you and hope you continue putting clips online! I´m German but it is much easier for me watching (hearing english explanations) it in English than in my own language!! Learning a different language is exciting indeed!! Thank you so much !! Grazie mille!! Christina
Weilà Tom! I am so grateful for you ability to teach Italian. Thank you for breaking down the construction of "Di", I finally understand when to use what form :0)
You are definitely my favourite italian teacher on youtube....senza dubbio :). I adore your videos...and how clear and simple explain everything! Well done! Regards from Macedonia

Thank you!! It's my pleasure to make videos you guys request! :)
Hello there! I just wanted to drop by and to tell you how I appreciate the amount of work and time you spend making these videos. However, I was thinking that some of your students could use a little bit of 'living' Italian. Soo perhaps you could translate and comment on the content of some Italian songs - I would be very grateful for that. I personally suggest Marzia Gaggioli - she has really simple songs (and a little bit silly), which might help you introduce some new vocab and perhaps reinforce our knowledge about the grammar as well. Why am I even saying that? Well I did learn a lot of French listening over and over to songs looking at their translations. I believe that this is a very efficient and fun at the same time method. Greetings from Poland! Ciao!
That's how I started to learn Italian. I printed out songs sung by Il Volo with the translations, then looked up vocab, articles, and conjugation. (In some cases, you actually see the errors of the translations.) Great motivator. When you have to look everything up, you remember it.(Understood that some classics like "Torna a Sorriento" or "O Sole Mio" are exceptions, as they are of the older Neopolitan dialect.) But oh, to be at an Il Volo concert and understand what they are singing has so much more meaning and feeling. Then I discovered Tom, and that became the pair that would beat any full house!
Ha! So funny. As I was driving home today I was thinking about how I should really try to work on my prepositions and prepositional articles - and then saw your video when watching your video on the euro! Thanks so much for your video! It helps quite a bit! :)
Grazie mille Tom - I am so glad I found your videos! Your explanations are awesome - I can now understand these rules. Your massive efforts in producing these videos is greatly appreciated!!
Tom.... Your lessons have helped me so much in a way that though i am a beginner, I am able to take small chunks from each which has slowly but surly been building up! ..... ho sette senttimane andare Limone Lago sul Garda! ... I hope to make another short film to show you :) Grazie
I haven't understood how and when to use the prepositions in Italiano, I din't know the rules and I was so confused. Also, I watched other video of you talking about "Il passato prossimo", and..I'm so grateful to you. You're so great, motivational, didactic and excellent professor!. Thank you :)

Thanks for your kind words! :) A preposition helps to connect the things you say, it also gives you some direction, Without prepositions, the things you say won't make sense. Prepositions are words like "at, to, in, on, from, etc." So if I say "I go TO the store" it makes more sense than "I go store" which despite being understandable, isn't correct. Hope this helps!
Molte grazie per ricordarmelo, lo professerò molto più per impararlo a memoria e potere applicarlo e usarlo alla ora di parlare. Non so si ho scritto bene, ma seguire studiando per migliorare ogni giorno. Grazie mille e anche, seguire guardando i tuoi video professore :)
Hi, Tom! My first language is Portuguese. However, I could understant better the explanation about "preposizioni articolati" in English with you. Thank you ever so much!
Hi! Just wanted to make a correction for future reference. The standard Italian translation of "It is in the box" is - È nella scatola. You use essere (è) and not stare (sta). "Sta nella scatola" means stays in the box.
Salve! I'm Korean learning Italian. It was a bit hard for me to get the usage of each Italian preposition since each has a different meaning. (Like "a" means at, to, in.) With your explanation, everything became clear! Thanks a lot for your effort on this video. I'll keep watching your video. Grazie mille!

I’m happy to hear it! Keep up the great work. Thank you!
Hi Tom! You're so good! :) one of the best on UA-cam! But I have to say something about "vado a Roma" vs "sto andando a Roma". They are not interchangeable. The latter is used only if you're in the making of the action, maybe you're on the train to Rome and you say "sto andando a Roma". "Vado a Roma" is more generic. :)
Thank you so much, i missed some of my italian classes, my professor is great but since i was not in class when i went back i was lost and couldnt understand this, now i do thanks to you :)
Grazie mille, complimenti !! I Finally found a way to understand the small differeneces, in spanish is difficult to explain this but in english is easier to understand, thank u
I am in italy since 6 month and believe me I go school 4 times in week. But still I have no idea, how to you use proposition and Articles. But I think I have found something today, for what I was searching for. Thanks. Please up load video for.How to use and understand past ,and future tenses also
Ciao Tom, grazie mile! I just have a suggestion that maybe helpful for us, learners: when it's written on the bottom of the video, for example, "da + il = dal", I automatically try to come up with an example of a phrase I can use "dal". Would be great to have examples to all dalle, nello, etc. Thanks a lot!)
I'm learning Italian and English. io parlo spagnolo, soy mexicana . You should learn to speak Spanish too. e 'molto simile alla lingua italiana. I loved your videos.
Is there a way to know whether to use "essere" vs. "stare". Most of your sample sentences use "stare" when I would use "essere". When is one used vs. the other? For example: (1) "Il libro sta sulla tavola" vs. "Il libro e sulla tavola" (2) "sta nella scatola" vs. "e nella scatola" 3) Sto in Italia vs. Sono in Italia. Great video. Grazie
dude ur the best on the internet. not everyone teaching the correct way. everyone just teaching phrases rather than teaching the core of it.
Thanks man! Glad I could help! :)
How can you not like this guy. Great enthusiasm.
Mike sono d'accordo! 😁

R u Italian? Cuz I’m learning but I did notice that as well and also he said “il libro sta sulla tavola”. Shouldn’t he have used “è” there as well?
