Veramente sei molto bravo 👏🏻 mi piace tanto il tuo inglese e certamente il metodo come hai spiegato, grazie di cuore,ho cercato e guardato tanti video ma non ho trovato nessun video utile. Grazie a te ho capito tutto 💜
My current Italian professor likes to only teach in Italian, so to hear it explained in English is extremely helpful!! Thanks for helping me pass my exams!
Madeline Nielsen what is flash cards and I wan to have conversations ....it helps me good .....don't worry I'm a just a boy.....don't think know wrong niether I won't bother u really .trust me
I've been learning Italian for years and I just had two HUGE ah-ha moments while watching your videos. These two concepts I'd never understood and no teacher had ever explained are now cleared up! Really cool. Thanks!
Same here, I loved that the examples are written down in the complete form and then in the way that it is used, I can make assumptions in my head while he's explaining and check it out seconds later if I did understood.
Tom these are great videos. I am learning Italian and your everyday words (previous video) and this one on direct object pronouns which reminded me of some grammar rules I forgot are a great help Thank you
I'm learning italian and it's incredible how you make italian grammar so easy to understand; even I can understand more with your videos than I do with some Spanish speaker teachers ( btw my native language is Spanish -_-) so thank you very much for these videos!!!! Grazie mille!
This is fabulous. I have been leaning Italian for a long time now & these pronouns have been really difficult for me. Your explanations are just what I need. Mille grazie!
I didn’t quite get what my teacher taught me for this particular grammar so I came to UA-cam looking for help. This guy explained it really well and now I can get back to my exercise book and finish what I couldn’t earlier. Thank you so much. Obviously I will be a regular viewer from now on. subscribed!!! Grazie mille!!!
I'm italian and i'm trying to get a better understanding of spoken english. I really like your english, if everyone speak like you, my life would be easier :).
Excellent Tom, I have to watch it again...have to repeat and repeat again....it don't come easy! I swear if I lived in Italy I would have this down by now...give me 6 months. It's tough when you have no one to bounce off in daily life. But I forge ahead. :)
Hi Tom. You are a legend. Love your videos. As a teacher myself, I can say that you certainly are a natural teacher. Keep up the good work and thank you.
I've been searching for a good intermediate Italian channels for ages -- and without much success. Your videos are superb: extremely well laid out, logical to follow, and highly instructive. Your explanation of direct object pronouns is excellent. You are a gifted teacher Tom. Many thanks.
you are the best. The best Italian teacher. I am brazilian and I am tryung to learnig italian so at the same time I'm learning italian I am practicing my english listening. Confrats you're great.
HI Tom, this is really handy.... studying Italian but all the teaching is in Italian and all your questions have to be in Italian-which I can handle but if you want to ask a fairly nuanced grammar question it ends up like the song "There's a hole in my bucket...". Excellent and am sending a link to the rest of the class. Thanks Stefan
Thank you Tom these are great refreshers, I really enjoy grammar and you explain it so simply and succinctly. It’s not difficult to look at or listen to you either, so double win.
Hello. This was super clear. I think it would be great if you asked the viewers questions to get them actively using what you're teaching. But really good work
This topic is crazy. THANK God for Tom. I would have been crying and thought I was punished with this topic. These little pronouns are so insignificant but you made it so simple. I bought your study pack and so worth it !!! Grazie !!!
Thank you again Tom! I have found direct objects quite tricky but your video has really helped. I'll probably watch it a few more times and take notes as well. I really like the written examples on the screen too. Wonderful! Ali x
Tom, I find all your videos so helpful, but especially this one. I was having a problem with understanding the compound verb tenses and this was so well explained. Grazie
Great job for me here sir. I have now learned how and what all those crazy looking two letter words mean. This will help take my learning up to a much higher level faster. Thanks a ton. These and verbs are my main interest at the moment. I figure if I understand these and also pronomi, I can read a lot of Italian subtitles and understand much more.
According to the video, i find out than we got many similarities in polish-italian language, grammer etc. the learning and understanding will bit easier than in case english/american mind person
I just found your Channel and I already love it! You do such a great Job explaining things in a way, everyone can follow. Thats's what I need now to really push my italian! Thank you and greets from Germany!:)
I've been learning Italian for about 6 days now and this video is a bit overwhelming. lol Don't get me wrong, all your videos are great and you're teaching me a lot, but I think I better just learn like a baby learns their mother tongue. I'm of course Italian, but we never spoke it in my family. I've wanted to learn my whole life and now with my operatic studies, I must learn it! Not to mention French and German! Do you have any great tips for me? Have you made a "tips" video for beginners? I'm using Rosette Stone, listening to Rai radio, watching Rai TV, and reading in Italian. And of course, watching your videos. Keep the videos coming. ciao PS Wish me "In bocca al lupo" as I continue this journey.
BOOM! Once again filling in those DuoLingo gaps. I noticed that past tenses with avere were agreeing when used with Pronouns, but here's the much-needed explanation. Thanks again.
Hi I'm interesting learning 🇮🇹 language I want to speak it to 🇮🇹 & my dream to be an actress, director, & writer I want to learn 🇮🇹 so I can speak it & write acting scripts in 🇮🇹 mixed with English
Great job Tom, i have begun learn italian 2 weeks ago and i really surprise how far i can go on this topic, you have got large contribution in my learning process, I'm working in Italian company and i've decided to learn and show my new italian skills, Thx bro, Greetings from Poland
Actually I don't have a plan to learn Italian. But when I watched your video, you made me wanna learn. Keep doing! Thanks alot for your awesome videos :D
I've struggled for so long with the objects pronoun part on Duolingo without properly getting the hang of it. Then I stumbled onto your videos and have had a true hallelujah moment! Thanks ever so much! Grazie mille and greetings from Finland, Tom!
I've always wanted to know when you're allowed to put the pronoun after the verb! Like piacere di conoscerti :) It's so much more natural for us english speakers. Thank you sooooo much for finally teaching me. Could you tell me which way of speaking (in this double verb + pronoun form) is more commonly used among italians?
Although I have a basic of Spanish and Portuguese is my mother tongue, I must confess that Italian is still really hard for me, other than a little weird, but I really love Italian language. It's the most beautiful Latin language in my point of view. I still wanna improve my knowledge of Italian, despite of I don't know if I will be fluent in Italian one day. Excellent video!
Tom I have been lost in translation for quite a while... but now I have seen your video and things are much more clear. A big thanks to you. I will be following you from now on... :-)
We don't tag the direct pronoun at the end of the verb in the infinitive form only when there is a modal verb in the sentence as in: Devo comprarlo; but also when we form a sentence in the imperative mood (except for the personal pronouns -lei, loro- ovviamente) as in: compralo!, parlatemene!, ascoltatemi bene!.
I'm trying to watch your videos and understand because i just speak spanish but a little of english that's fun because i am learning italian in english but baby thank you for ur time
Is it necessary to change the gender of the verb when using 'Ci' and 'Vi'? For exalmple(I have seen you guys--Can it be: "Vi ho visto" or it needs to be" Vi ho visti")?
I'm a little bit confused with this video. Where does the word "visto" comes from? Based on your explanation about passato prossimo, "vedere" should change to "veduto". Or is it an irregular verb?
Dear Mr. Tom, I am so happy to see this video and it is very easy way for me to grab things from video like this rather than reading materials. I would like to see video that explain "Ci'' Application. I think "Ci" has lot to discuss Isn't It? And also video that explains how to give direction in Italian. By the way, I must thank you for doing wonderful job in these videos simply because all of them have been done very professional way. Cheers!! Vinod
i have a small question, to be sure i really understand this can i say, grammar- wise, like this----> LA HO VISTO ? i understand that native speakers of italian usually don't speak like this, but i'm asking is it correct from grammar point of view
Grazie mille Tom! Your lesson has totally helped but I'm struggling with what appears to be a slightly different use of object pronouns, for example: Io mi sveglio alle otto. As I understand it this means; I get up at 8, but I don't understand the benefit in adding mi in this instance. Am I actually saying I get myself up at 8? Thanks very much!
5 років тому
Ciao Alex, great question. Exactly, “mi sveglio” can mean “I wake up” or “I wake myself up.” Basically Svegliarsi comes from the Reflexive verb group, which are verbs in which the person doing the action is also the receiver of the action. The Reflexive pronouns are very similar to Object pronouns but they have a slightly different use. I’ve got a video on UA-cam and a Weilà University lesson on Reflexive verbs if you need some more help. Hope this helps! :)

Yes. Me too. The other one for me was reflexive pronouns
Same here, I loved that the examples are written down in the complete form and then in the way that it is used, I can make assumptions in my head while he's explaining and check it out seconds later if I did understood.

Very nice to explain!!! Bravo 👏🏻
Thank you so much for these videos! You have made learning Italian fun and not so daunting. I truly appreciate it!
Just a little correction. "Lo" and "L'ho" do not sound the same. "Lo" has a narrow "o" sound, whereas "ho" has a broad vowel sound.
No other like you to teach man! keep it up!
According to the video, i find out than we got many similarities in polish-italian language, grammer etc. the learning and understanding will bit easier than in case english/american mind person

Is it necessary to change the gender of the verb when using 'Ci' and 'Vi'? For exalmple(I have seen you guys--Can it be: "Vi ho visto" or it needs to be" Vi ho visti")?
No theres a specific verb tense that changes plurality or gender if the ending when referring to groups or feminine objects
Very thorough and so clear. Loads of examples to reinforce. Thank you - great help.
Your english and italian are both awesome!!!!!!
I'm a little bit confused with this video. Where does the word "visto" comes from? Based on your explanation about passato prossimo, "vedere" should change to "veduto". Or is it an irregular verb?
I love your videos. Very clear, concise and easy to follow.

Weilà, hai bravo.....you have helped me a lot to learn italian in 3 months time here in Napoli....now able to attend class.
i have a small question, to be sure i really understand this
can i say, grammar- wise, like this----> LA HO VISTO
?
i understand that native speakers of italian usually don't speak like this, but i'm asking is it correct from grammar point of view
No, in Italian it should be: "LA HO VISTA" (never used), or better: "L'HO VISTA".
Grazie mille Tom! Your lesson has totally helped but I'm struggling with what appears to be a slightly different use of object pronouns, for example: Io mi sveglio alle otto.
