Nice video one thing I can say that helped with hot flashes was eliminating all dairy unless it was organic also meat has to be organic it was so precise that as soon as I ate at a restaurant or at a friend’s house I that night the hot flashes would be unbearable. But a few days of no hormone dairy or meat almost no flashes. Ashwaganda helped too❤️🙏
Nutrition tip (for everyone) and message for Dr. Mary Caire Haver: For anyone who says they don't like kale, I have a way for you to eat it that brings out all the best! I am not a big fan of kale salads because the dressing is always loaded with salt, sugar, and fat and/or the kale always seems bitter. If you chop up your kale and drop it into soup, stew, or chili, it is a game changer! Either put it in your soup, stew, or chili before reheating it or put it in your already hot soup, stew, or chili, then let it sit for 30 seconds to 1 minute so the heat can do its thing, and WOW! It's INCREDIBLE! It turns the kale sweeter/delicate and it’s super delicious! DON’T put the kale in prior to cooking where it is cooked for an extended period of time and it gets cooked down to where it kills the nutritional value. It only needs a short time, just long enough to warm it up to your desired temperature, which keeps the nutritional value intact. P.S. Dr. Mary Claire Haver, please do research into veganism/vegetarianism too for patients like me. I don't eat animal products now and I’ve never been this healthy in my entire life! I’m going to be 53 and even though I never eat animal flesh and only VERY rarely will I relent and eat eggs or dairy, and I feel like I’m in my early 20s again! I went vegan over 3 years ago after watching The Game Changers, Cowspiracy, What the Health?, and Dominion and the changes in me have been too profound to ignore! I dropped a lot of weight and maintain it with ease (my jeans were 16s and 18s and now they are 4s and 6s). All of my joint and muscle pain stopped (when I eat dairy or eggs, it returns). My skin cleared up (I had perfect skin in my youth, so getting pimples was a shock!). I no longer have debilitating heartburn or acid reflux anymore (or take the meds to combat the effects that are a lie and only provide short-term relief and some have detrimental side effects to our bones/health)! And there is EVEN MORE AWESOMENESS with my switch to veganism! I feel SO AMAZING! I’ve had co-workers and others, including a nurse at my surgery, think I was much younger (they have guessed me to be anywhere from 26 to 36!🙀)! I’m super active, mobile, and have off-the-charts energy now! When we get our nutrients from plants, we cut out the middleman which are the animals. I replicate all animal-based recipes I love by swapping plant-based ingredients for the meat like my plant-based Chicken Chili Verde! I eat a much larger variety of food and can’t believe how amazing I feel. These plant-based ingredients can be found in LOTS of food like non-dairy yogurt which I eat daily too. I don’t feel deprived at all and all of my health markers are EXCELLENT! I even got my very first normal hemoglobin levels in my entire life after going vegan and it was 13.1! I’m also wonderfully regular in the bathroom department even with being on meds that cause constpation! WOOHOO! Along with fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, I make sure my diet includes probiotics, prebiotics, and antivirals every day. After “surviving the unsurvivable” including 2.1 hemoglobin that put me in a coma in ICU, 10 years on my death bed because we couldn't figure out why my hemoglobin was regularly in the 4s and 5s even though I was having regular iron infusions/blood transfusions, and my death while in the hospital when I was awaiting the arrival of 4 bags of blood for transfusions, so I know what poor health feels like. I was so sick, I was a fall risk and I could pass out OR die due to such low hemoglobin levels. l couldn't do anything including cooking, cleaning, showering while standing, walking my dogs, driving a car, shopping, and more! My life was over as I rotted away in my home. We found the source of the hemoglobin loss after I died and was revived when my congenital hiatal hernia and esophageal ulcer were surgically fixed. My hiatal hernia was oozing into my abdominal cavity, so the endless tests (colonoscopies, EGDs, pill camera test, CT scans, MRIs, etc.) and endless specialists could not find it. After surviving the unsurvivable and losing 10 years, I was determined to live my best, healthiest life and I have been educating myself ever since. I don't have any menopausal females in my life, so I had no idea how to navigate this stage of life. Finding you, Dr. Mary Claire Haver, was the final piece to my health puzzle and I couldn't be more grateful! My Estradiol patch and micronized progestin have been a wonderful addition! Thank you for all you do for us women so that we don't suffer as our foremothers did, Dr. Mary Claire Haver! 💜😽💋💋💋
I've been doing a keto diet and I lost the stubborn 15 pounds that had been dogging me for 10 plus years and my hot flashes stopped. I've never felt better!❤
Thanks so much. I am now 61 yrs young. Had Hysterectomy at 32 (after birth of 2nd premie), due to serious issues. Have Systemic Lupus, causing Cardiomyopathy... damage from yrs of SLE causing stage 3 CKD, and CHF, and also have RA and the list goes on!!! Too many organ and joint surgeries to count! Anyway had really hard time with Menopause espec being so young after Hysterectomy. I couldnt go on Hormone repl cuz Ive had 2 DVT's and positive Anticardiolipin...Had severe hot flashes for yrs. I went on Black Cohosh as suggested by my PCP because of how I cant take Hormone Repl Therapy, and it helps me immensely! The hot flashes diminished! It is a Godsent for me! Ive been eating this diet your explaining for a few yrs, and I maintain 120 lbs. It works! Dont get me wrong, I love candy! But when I eat my parfaits with fresh berries and nuts I feel like im eating desert and it satisfies me. Im not saying I never cheat...you have to cheat sometimes, and reward yourself, but put it into perspective! Ive recently had 4 major reconstructive jount replacement surgeries of both hands from damage of a double wammy having SLE & RA damage! Just because my hand are recouping doesnt mean my legs arent working! So i keep moving! I Keep walking....I keep moving and exercising with my legs, and for me, thats been the key to this whole issue. Keep moving and exercising, and eat right for your body, and health issues, and you will feel better, and look better too. I promise! Age is not a punishment! It is a reward for those years well spent that we have served those we love. Sit back and enjoy life. No one at 65 is going to look like they are 25! Those were years I served and earned with respect, and I have become friends with them. Society makes aging a defecit....and its a reward for the years Ive spent. Learn to embrace and enjoy the process!
HI MARY I'm 75 .very well said . keep up the good positive work. may I suggest not to eat CARBS (potatoes, rice)with red meats.and CARBS with veggies only. I call it "browns with green and whites with greens only. make sense? connie x
I sure wish your channel existed when I was menopausal. What a lonely very depressing time. Thank God it’s over- I really hope women take advantage of your support🙏🏽
That's exactly what I eat. Greek yoghurt with blueberries and walnuts! :) I add some beetroot powder and a little bit of cocoa. All organic. And of course the coconut :) exactly what I do. Love it.
Just to let other women know - if you are like me, you will get INCREDIBLY sick and feel terrible when you eat spinach, walnuts, avocado, citrus fruit, lemons, limes, fish (unless flash frozen after catch), yogurt, etc. If you find these wonderful foods are making you feel much worse - then you may be like me and have histamine intolerance. I suffer tremendously when eating these foods (which are normally SO GOOD for you) and it makes me sad. But if you are getting worse and worse when eating these foods, please look into histamine intolerance. I see it happening more and more these days. I'm new to your channel and enjoying your content so much Dr. Mary. Do you have a video on menopause low histamine options for those of us with mast cell issues? Thanks!
Raises so many questions. Where you are in the US Factory farming of dairy has hormones and huge antibiotic use thereby killing our own guts (re yogurt). And salmon should be wild for sure but what about all the mercury being found in fish? I think it’s much harder to actually eat clean and healthy than ever before. A pure omega3 which has been tested for pollutants (and has removed them) might be a much safer bet. Our oceans have boom e quite unhealthy. Apparently krill oil which is harvested in the oceans around Sweden is good.
I love Spinach, Collards, Mustard Greens, Romaine Lettuce, avacados Love salmon, fish, Love Lemons, Limes Bulgarian Yogurt tastes tart. I sprinkled nuts on it. Steaks, Eggs, fresh calf liver, shrimp, Broccoli,
This is basically my whole diet I’m 45 now I have mean symptoms and I was really excited about this video I’ve always been really thin and never had a problem with weight gain suddenly in the last year I have cellulite on my stomach and a pretty good tummy but like I said the foods you mentioned here is what I’ve lived on for at least the last decade ??!!
I eat a whole avocado a day, and I, too, think it is the perfect food. I open it and spoon it out. I buy a bag each week at Costco and usually eat it for lunch. I have some amazing Salmon recipes too!!!! Thank you for all this info!
Hi Tracey; would you share some of your salmon recipes? I like it but get kind of sick of it. I eat it grilled, or baked with a maple / garlic glaze. Thanks in advance for your time, happy eating!
Thank you so much for this I found it so helpful I was diagnose with menopause at the age of 19 and at times I have trouble sleeping and my body temperature is always high but I am on H.R.T. I want to start eating healthier and not be tired all the time. I am now 27 years old and am learning all about menopause. ❤
Keto messed with my liver enzymes. It elevated my ast to 78. My hematologist/gp told me to stop keto immediately. I gained a lot of belly fat recently and started keto to get rid of it. Have an appointment with a GYN to discuss menopause and hormones. This Chanel hit home. Thank you! 🙏🏻🌺
I’m feeling encouraged here, for a change 😂 - Already eating kale, full fat Greek yogurt, and lemon every day, with almonds or pecans for snacks. I need to work on the avacado and salmon. I’m not a fan of fish in general, but I will try some fresh salmon and see...
This is very interesting. When I turned 40, surprisingly I started craving Avocado 🥑 of which I never craved before. On average I eat an avocado a day and NEVER had a taste for it. After avocado, I started noticing that I also craved nuts 🥜 and Greek yogurt. The other bits I have to work on, but I believe the body tells you what it needs because I continue to be shocked that I have gravitated towards these foods. It’s like when I turned 40, something changed. Without any attempt to diet. This makes me happy to hear.
I am lactose intolerant and I live in a small town. None of my grocery stores carry DF yogurt, so I make my own in my Instapot. I use cultures and westlife soy milk. I make yogurt weekly! It's delicious. I sweeten it with stevia for a parfait or I leave it unsweetened and use it like sour cream for taco salads. It is a game changer for my gut, as I eat it every day. I get soy, protein and probiotics!
You are fabulous and so responsive to your viewers!!! 1. Does it matter if the salmon is farmed or fresh? 2.. How many nuts are a good size a snack? 3. Greek yogurt causes me to have burning mouth syndrome. Is there any substitute? Thank you for your dedication to helping women stay/get healthy! I will have to try self-tanning drops because you look amazing. If you don't already have one, you should post about skincare in perimenopause and menopause. 💛💛💛
Fresh is better if you can find it. We don't count calories - but a quarter cup usually does the trick. Please email us at success@galvestondiet.com for your other questions! and thank you!
A tablespoon of nuts is my serving size (about 48 calories). I eat salmon 2x a week, do 2 Tbsp flax with .25 cups plain Greek yogurt and .66 cups frozen blueberries at breakfast. Also for breakfast, 2 eggs with about 6-8 oz spinach and a little pico de gallo. Bread bowl of leafy greens for lunch with about 6 oz chicken, fish or tuna. I often just have hot tea for dinner, so my calories vary from 900 to 1500 on alternating days. I walk an hour or do 5-6 ten min exercise videos at least 5x a week. I still track calories, as it seems my body's determined to gain weight! I'm almost 70.
Good advice, I'm vegan so no fish and dairy for me, but love the information you are providing. I currently do a Intermittent 16-8 low processed vegan keto life style.
I'm doing this exact diet and I have never felt better in my life. Truly found what works for me- keto vegan and intermittent fasting. Works beautifully for me💕
@@welllivedlife-desireeg2804 May I ask where are you getting your keto vegan information from? I'm struggling to find information regarding this out on the web, Thanks Desiree!😀
Do you have any exact information on what they feed the farmed salmon I literally just sent off an email earlier to a Tasmanian company asking that question
It's very difficult to get healthy foods (especially leafy greens, which take forever to eat) when you work 12-hour shifts, have to eat 2 meals at work, and have 10-15 minutes to eat. I'm all about the citrus, nuts, avocado, and greek yogurt, though!
No teeth, can't eat nuts. But Skippy Natural peanut butter has become a true friend. I even put it in my oatmeal along with blueberries & local honey. I don't like fish because if I eat fish I smell fishy for days & burp up a fishy taste, GROSS. Leafy greens are another issue without teeth (Marie Claire yours are beautiful by-the-way). Citrus is out due to an ulcerated stomach lining. I can eat shredded iceberg lettuce & enjoy canned asparagus pieces once per month. As for avocado I am a fan, but only allowed one per month. Spoon it in my mouth & enjoy. At 73 my post-menopausal self highly recommends all perimenopausal & menopausal women, listen to what you have to say. It took years for us to be pre- pubesant, it takes years for us to wind down via menopausal. NOT fun, but there it is. Hormones kick butt coming & going. Love that you venture 'where no man has gone before,' they don't have a clue what we go through.
Great info. For vegans, is plain, unsweetened yogurt just as good? I eat Brussels sprouts every day also. I believe they are high in omega 3s. Do you have any suggestions for chronic joint and muscle pain? Thanks
HI! I'm 75 are you moving enough.sometimes its hard to get started but you will be glad you did. I stared with ballroon dance lessons and getting a 3 wheel bike that I love :) connie x
M. Bishop- For a vegan diet I’d suggest not using a vegan yogurt. The main benefit from it would be the probiotic. Vegan yogurts are typically fairly low in protein and tend to taste kinda gross unless they’re highly sweetened. You don’t want to add sugar to your foods. Do Include lots of tofu, tempeh, mushrooms, seaweed, hemp seeds, quinoa, avocado, chia seeds, walnuts, legumes, veggies, and fruits. These foods provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, and photo chemicals. Tofu, tempeh, hemp, and quinoa are complete proteins. Try to keep your carbohydrate and protein balanced. Most vegan diets are high in carbohydrate which can lead to insulin resistance, particularly as we age. Hope that helps.
OMG Mary Clare, that yogurt parfait was the best thing I've ever tasted!!! Thank you sooooo much.....yummmm 😋 Never would have thought to do this myself lol
I use greek yougart in my berry, banana, pineapple smoothies.. We love Avocado..We growing a tree.. I eat some greens and nuts, but could proprably eat them a lil more often than I do ... Im gonna have to learn to like salmon I guess..
Whole-Food, plant-based vegan here. Since my 20s, now in menopause. There has to be a way to get a diet like this without animal flesh (fish) or supporting the cruel dairy industry. Also, some people are actually allergic to seafood or dairy. Options need to be explored that are VEGAN 🙏 Please
You could try soaking organic almonds overnight in organic lemon juice (grate the zest in as well) and spring water. In the morning the skins can be removed easily and they taste much better. It’s because the phytic acid has been removed. The phytic acid must be removed to get the goodness out of nuts.
I love your channel. I am 45 and now know I started perimenopause in my 30’s. I have so many problems now. diverticulitis and high cholesterol are just 2. Can I add nuts back into my diet? I have many questions for you. I am suffering so much and have been for at least 10 years now. 😢
What do we do when one group of credible doctors and scientists say, “You must, must, must eat these foods!” and then the next group of equally credible doctors and scientists say, “Absolutely do not eat these things! So bad for you!” 😩
Please recommend a Greek Yogurt replacement, it causes diarrhea in me, makes my gut unhappy. I’m dairy free. Thank you. Appreciate all your information.
Don't forget arugula as a leary green! In a smoothie recipe, I substitute arugula and italian parsley for spinach or kale. Full of vitamin C and easy to grow yourself.
2 different medical teams of dieticians/nutritionists, keto, no carb, low carb, vegan, Macro counting, no fat, eat 6 times a day, eat 3 times a day, cardio 7 days, weight training no cardio...UGHHHHHH.....I'm ready for someone who UNDERSTANDS what this is like!! At 58 and a half...I am up 30 lbs with regular exercise and weights...nothing has worked to get the scale down. Thank you, I'm giving it a try!
I do not like plain Greek yogurt, but I will put it in a smoothie-it’s the only way to get it down. I live in MN and we get nearly no sunshine during the winter. If we do get it, the temp is even colder on those days that no one wants to go outside. (Why do I live here?) For this reason, we northerners depend on the citrus fruits which are in season during the winter months and they taste better during this time. Oranges during the summer are very bland and ridiculously expensive. I wonder what I could hide avocados in. I’m not a fan of those either. 🧐
I'm allergic to fish, so what could I replace the salmon with that will have the same positive effect? Living in Spain, the other foods are already a staple part of my diet.
Love this information, just came across Dr. Haver. Considering starting the Galveston Diet. I am 65, still struggling the weight gained during menopause. Will this help?
I am so very frustrated. I am histamine intolerant and post menopausal. 5 out of 6 on your list are extremely high in histamine. I just dont know what to eat anymore to help my menopause.
I had this. I suddenly had terrible seasonal allergies at age 45 too. Your histamine bucket is overflowing and soon gut dysbiosis may start aka Leaky Gut etc, which will cause malabsorption and eventually your gut won't absorb iron making you anemic, Vitamin A making your skin too crepey, etc. Omit gluten, all dairy, cosmetic chemicals, mold in your home, coffee (mold), corn tortillas/chips/high fructose corn syrup(mold), only eat NONGMO foods (no pesticides), no booze, choose grass fed meats as other CAFO meat is fed corn, lower egg consumption and buy pasture raised organic eggs only. Increase coconut for the gut. Research Biocidin. Clean out your lymph (700 miles of waste system) with brushing/lymph massages/trampoline. EXERCISE to move lymph. Have DandyBlend instead of coffee with coconut cream diluted with water. Research adaptogens as surely your cortisol is off the chart. Cortisol is the FAT STORING HORMONE. Get cortisol level checked. Carpathia Collective in Dallas cured me! Research FODMAPS. and watch this but know that cooking reduces some lectins ua-cam.com/video/mjQZCCiV6iA/v-deo.html
You don't need fish for omega 3! Fish eat algae that make the omega. It's not hard to supplement and then just eat more protein other ways, if you are vegan or don't like fish! Seitan is easy to make and HIGH protein, low carb (it's like a beef substitute) all you need is vital wheat gluten and a recipe. I am vegan so i supplement with Omega 3, eat healthy fat like avocado and for a Greek yogurt sub I puree firm tofu in my Ninja and add lemon juice, lactic acid and a big of cashew butter. High protein, good fat, calcium and no no cows harmed (also, dairy is a source of inflammation) Also, tvp (textured vegetable protein) looks like granola. You can soak it and use it like ground beef or eat it crunchy on salad or i top my oatmeal with it (it's high protein - 40 cal, 8 protein per 1/4 c) Another sub is Butler Soy Curls. All you do is soak them 10 minutes and then use in stir fry etc. It's like chicken strips. Just some ideas I've found for those of you who are plant-based or want a dairy alternative 🙏💛
I wouldn't eat salmon because of bad farming. Depends on we're it's from. I eat trout, cod, sea bass and take krill oil for omega 3. Flax seeds in boild water take in the morning is good too. Combined vegetable, seeds and animal fats is better than just eating animal fat. Advocardos and oil of evening primrose is good if you cant get anything else in your diet like fish protein and oils.
👋 just found your channel & 1st video I’ve watched of yours 👍 I eat mostly plant 🌱 based,but have been adding a fish dish once week & the recipe I do has salmon 🐟 spinach 🍃 & orange 🍊 dressing 😆 so I just need to make a coconut 🥥 yogurt 🍦 avocado 🥑 nut 🥜 pudding & I’m done ✅ 😉
Hi just have found you this week on you tube. I’m nearly 60, was always slim but after menopause I’ve put on that belly 5-7kg! (Australia). I eat nuts, spinach, citrus & avocado (avo maybe once a week). Which I’ll increase. But I’m not a fan of salmon. I take cod liver oil each day will that replace salmon? I’m listening to all your videos now & passing on to my sister. I work in healthcare too but feel like I’m behind the 8 ball at my age ? Any encouragement to lose the weight ?
Call liver old is a great supplement and natural source of Vitamin A & D it does not replace the food benefit of salmon as an easily digested animal protein source . What do I have picked up his eating keto low carb cutting out the sugar intermittent fasting…. If you’re still having trouble and already in menopause I’m pretty sure HRT makes a difference and now you can test ( peri is hard to test ) if you’re in Australia I hope to hear her talk about the bio identical hormones.
@@Sunnyfield323 yes I took HRT when I was having symptoms of peri menopause and I do the bio oil ones - really helped - I’m in menopause now & my only issue is the weight. I do have salmon once or twice a week. I tried intermittent fasting but I did so bad at it !😂 as a nurse my job is so active I was starving … but I think it could work for me as my collegue had excellent results with it. I’m not hugely obese just want to lose 5kg (? Pounds maybe 12) not sure - I do eat well but I love Bread haha - to give it up would mean a sad life 😢 thanks for taking the time to reply. I wonder if HRT after peri menopause helps with weight ?
@@jenhayes7189 hi I get it 👌I totally get you don’t want to be starving of coarse! . That indicates to me there is some tweaking to do. I found I went from hypoglycaemic in my 20 & 30s needing to eat each 2 hrs ( not junk but yes carbs - just plain crackers , toast, extra toast or banana , homemade muffins, muslie bar etc ) to eating more protein , lowering carbs , taking supplements and then started IF to help my cravings , waistline n IBS at 41yo. I went slowly and was conscious not to stress my body… sometimes it was only 10 hours or 11 hours or 12 hours… that’s what I aimed for… and then I made sure I broke so fast with low carb collagen shake although some people might want few more carbs… n some coconut oil .. I add frozen raspberry in summer with raw cacao n Natvia ( like swerve ) 😋. And I was really amazed and thrilled that my appetite hormones actually started to change and that is what I think is a huge success of intermittent fasting if you’re able to get to a point of doing it and not feeling in huge deprivation. Honestly that was really amazing press long as I can remember at least 20 years I had a lower protein diet and honestly had to eat every two hours I am a thin type and I would be lightheaded my heart would rise I feel very stressed and a bit nauseous and to cope to not eating every two hours and having to have a snack on hand is amazing. It would be brilliant for your long shifts as a nurse. I think it really helps keep me lean and feeling better !! My mind clearer . I haven’t heard everything I’m really keen to listen to more videos… she has wonderful passion & knowledge 🤩. I reckon you could try intermittent fasting again if your health is okay (I do you think if your blood sugars are getting too high, your graduate toward insulin resistant or u have fatty liver or exhaustion or high estrogen ) you’ll find it harder to fast and lose weight . I couid start with. Lower carb moderate fat as the Galveston diet seems HIGHER PROTEIN.. pasture fed eggs mid morn after a 12hr window or a protein shake . I am helping my friend he’s just in menopause I think it’s worth reviewing your hormones understand if you’re still higher oestrogen then that adds to weight but also checked all the thyroid markers. Big ✨magnesium glycinate , zinc , b6 and ashwaghanda ksm66 is worth taking daily
Hi, just found you and your videos, love them. I used to be able to eat avocado and now I’m having a histamine reaction to them. Is there something else I can eat like that?
In menopause and getting such fatigue and migraines. I take 350 mg of magnesium glycinate every night for years now. Used to help me keep migraines at bay...not so much now. Suggestions anyone?
I have been taking evening primrose oil for last 3 months following a bout of migraines thanks to perimenapause and its really made a difference. Apparently b vitamins help too.

I especially love your look in this video. So pretty

How can good fats reduce weight?
I’m feeling encouraged here, for a change 😂 - Already eating kale, full fat Greek yogurt, and lemon every day, with almonds or pecans for snacks. I need to work on the avacado and salmon. I’m not a fan of fish in general, but I will try some fresh salmon and see...
I know this is off topic, but your summer cut and color is super cute!

It's very difficult to get healthy foods (especially leafy greens, which take forever to eat) when you work 12-hour shifts, have to eat 2 meals at work, and have 10-15 minutes to eat. I'm all about the citrus, nuts, avocado, and greek yogurt, though!

Is Skye, Icelandic yogurt as good as Greek?! And Atlantic (farmed) Salmon vs wild, which is better for menopause?
Yes. Wild.
Skyrr has even more protein & isn’t as sour tasting. I use it to add sweet yogurt mix ins for dessert.

Thanks so much Dr. Haver! Do nuts need to be raw and unsalted? I just love lightly salted pecans, but they are probably a no no.
You could try soaking organic almonds overnight in organic lemon juice (grate the zest in as well) and spring water. In the morning the skins can be removed easily and they taste much better. It’s because the phytic acid has been removed. The phytic acid must be removed to get the goodness out of nuts.

I live in MN and we get nearly no sunshine during the winter. If we do get it, the temp is even colder on those days that no one wants to go outside. (Why do I live here?)
For this reason, we northerners depend on the citrus fruits which are in season during the winter months and they taste better during this time. Oranges during the summer are very bland and ridiculously expensive.
I wonder what I could hide avocados in. I’m not a fan of those either. 🧐

High protein, good fat, calcium and no no cows harmed (also, dairy is a source of inflammation)
Also, tvp (textured vegetable protein) looks like granola. You can soak it and use it like ground beef or eat it crunchy on salad or i top my oatmeal with it (it's high protein - 40 cal, 8 protein per 1/4 c)
Another sub is Butler Soy Curls. All you do is soak them 10 minutes and then use in stir fry etc. It's like chicken strips.
Just some ideas I've found for those of you who are plant-based or want a dairy alternative 🙏💛
Yum, all the foods I adore, thank you :-)
I wouldn't eat salmon because of bad farming.
Flax seeds for hot flashes. Chia seeds for dryness

Hi Jen intermittent fasting is the only thing keeping me at a normal weight. I eat one meal a day at dinner
