I bought your book and have followed your plan for the last 25 days and I am forever grateful for your investment into the health of women! Thank you! I am currently on too low a dosage of HRT and working to get that increased, but I am feeling so much better following the principles of your plan! Even my family is seeing an improved version of myself and I’m hopeful and excited (for the first time since 2019) to be my best self soon! I thought menopause had broken me! Thank you; it hasn’t!
Hi there, I’m happy for you. I’ll be 44 in 3 months. My cycle shifted from 28 to 20 days for one year and now sometimes it’s every 2 months. My body temperature has changed. My sleep is interrupted and at best I sleep 4 hours in a row. But I have never been a big sleeper and my youngest is 7 yrs old so I had sleepless nights until just few years ago. When there was this shift in my periods cycles length I had a memorable night sweat, panic attacks, anxiety. Pain at joints and muscles, fatigue. Extremely low mood. I felt I was even suicidal. But I have 0 stress, 0 reason to be unhappy, all good reasons to be joyful. I know it’s estrogen. Reading your and other women’s comments, I’m getting so frightened for what is coming that I don’t know if it’s worth asking to a doctor for bio identical estrogen patch + progesterone. Is it too soon? Shall I wait for it to be really awful? How awful is it? Sorry to bother. I also haven’t understood something. When menopause hits, it’s not at all possible to have sex?
Your story describes how my journey began! I wish I knew then what I know now bc I would have sought a dr to begin HRT. I wouldn’t hesitate starting now.
I bought the book in October and have been following and changing our eating habits. Both my husband and I have dropped over 15 pounds each and are feeling great. I have referred 5 women and so far 3 of them are having great success. We are all post menopausal and are finally seeing our belly shrinking 🎉
My husband was having a hard time getting taken seriously by his Dr until I started going to appointments with him. This started over 10 years ago and I’ve attended every single appointment since. Ridiculous.
Thank God I found you on utube. I have already listened to you for hours in the past 2 days. Just ordered your books and a few supplements. I'm a nurse and totally agree with you about all of this. Thank you so much.
Unbelievable, i just got your book today, i am reading along with you! 💕 I want you to know i walked a block to the mailbox today to get your book in a 0 degree snow storm Washington State! 🌨
Dear Dr. Haver: Thank you for what you are doing to help women to achieve really better health and speaking out about us being ignored and the issues facing menopausal women. I really appreciate it.
💯 on target about the treatment of men's health v. women's. Enlightenment to this is great! People don't know what they don't know, including physicians.
😱 THANK YOU!!!! I am so happy to find this information right as I am hitting 50! Also so excited to pass this information on to my daughters. I cannot even express the amount of times I have been gaslit by physicians and you are a breath of fresh air. I’m ordering your book ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Dr Mary Haver, I love your book The Galveston diet!! You are definitely a rockstar!! My question to you is when you were going through perimenopause and finally reached menopause, were you not exhausted? How could you push through with your job of delivering babies and not be exhausted and have a family?
I will buy your book / books that I will pass on to my daughter to help her go through all this before she's been affected by it ...Bless you for all the good information to help us women ❤
I bought your book for Christmas!! I love it! I just made your Tomato Bisque Soup Recipe that is in your book- The Galveston Diet…SO SIMPLE, SO DELICIOUS !!! :)
Thank you. I am tired of menopause. I wish you were closer. Nothing is working. I am up and down and crying spells. Lost my mom then sister 😢. Memory issues, overweight and overwhelmed. Hot flashes, cold flashes, body aches, hair loss. I will be getting book and supplements.
I know you maybe tired of hearing this but Hang in there. The world needs you. Get the book or just buy it online. Do 1 positive thing each morning until it is a habit then do a new one thing and so on and so on. This Doctor is awesome! ❤
My testosterone was 419 lat tine I had it checked and are ready to quit pellets. When I first started pellets I felt better. When I was younger i had seizures so I opted not to do estrogen since a possible side effect is seizures. I need your new book also, on pre-order.
I'm on the last chapter 10, page 227. It actually works! I 💖 it! I also pre-ordered your latest book being released on 30 April, "The New Menopause." 🤗
I’m 57 and have gotten mine to around 60-70 with pellets, but it helps with many other things, like lean muscle mass, strength energy and I get few chin hairs no acne. It just depends on the individual also and monitoring.
I think it will. I bought the book AND audio book so I can listen to it on the road. This book has opened my eyes. I'm 54, and I've been suffering for years. This book explains so much. I'm about to start changing my diet because I truly believe an anti-inflammatory diet will help with a lot of my pain. I'm also on the patch and oral progesterone now. Hot flashes are gone. We're still playing with my estradiol dose. Buy the book. You won't be disappointed, except in your physicians!
Yes! I was shocked after only 25 days following her plan how much my inflammation has gone down! My joints feel the best they’ve felt in years. I have been very physically active my whole life and was so frustrated that my joint pain and odd little injuries was putting me at a more sedentary life than I like and taking ibuprofen around the clock. I also had this growing abdomen, which I now know is visceral fat, despite fasting 20+ hours a day since 2018 to counteract my increasing inflammation.
Thank you for sharing your new quality of life. I am miserable. I joined her program online. I can’t wait to start it. Thankfully we have this amazing & caring Doctor. We all need to talk about menopause. ❤
My obgyn put me on bio-identical testosterone cream last year and I was still feeling exhausted. I'm 46 years old and the testosterone didn't fix my tiredness. I discovered DHEA that's derived from wild yam made in a compounding pharmacy. I am a new me. I now have more energy than I did before. I stopped the bio-identical testosterone cream since it's contraindicated with DHEA. Wow, I feel much better. Point taken about having to advocate for myself with my practitioner. For a while I was mad at her for not turning me to DHEA. She later clarified that as a practitioner she was taught to prescribe testosterone, not DHEA. Wow!!
I just started estradiol patch and 100mg progesterone yesterday. Is this enough or am I missing something else? I've been following you and learning as I go. Getting your book! Thank you for all you do for us!❤

You can also search in UA-cam for "menopause toolkit" in Dr. Havers channel and she has lots of videos. thepauselife.com/blogs/the-pause-blog/the-ultimate-menopause-toolkit-an-anti-inflammatory-approach-to-managing-menopause ~ XO Community Support Team
My husband and I both need anti-inflammatory diet. My question regarding nuts and my husband is that he is so picky and will only eat cashews, almonds, and pistachios. Plus they have to be heavily flavored. Any tips on how to make walnuts and pecans flavored without sugar? My husband has a toddler palate. 😂
49:17 Doctor says she is using low dose testosterone to help her together with the other stuff to build muscle mass....So it's ok to use testosterone for this purpose? How nuch is a low dose?
I had a hysterectomy due to uterine cancer in 2003. My maternal aunt, with the same medical history of uterine cancer in early 40's, took HRT after her hysterectomy and developed breast cancer. I opted out of HRT to test whether it made a difference for our daughters and granddaughters (minimum of three maternal generations with uterine cancer). Is that still a concern or are there new options that could benefit me?
Can u explain DHEA. my mom was taking orally. PHD ND functional dr said take it. But u mentioned I think vaginally. Another lady don't know her on utube mentioned dhea Not sure more for brain or hormones Also Berberine we have been taking for 20 years. It's amazing n does so many things.
I’m 52 and still on birth control pills. My doctor would like to take me off soon to see if I’m in menopause. I told him I wasn’t comfortable with that because I’m in a relationship and sexually active. I’m in Texas, and I can’t afford to get pregnant. He said my birth control pills are similar to a hormone replacement so he is letting me stay on them another year. I’m not sure if I should stay on them or go to HRT. I just don’t want to get pregnant.
I am a 62 woman that has been in menopause for 12 years, with MS and high blood pressure, living in France. Was on the combi patch in the US, Dr here won’t prescribe HRT, what can I do??? I have the belly fat you describe. HELP
❤ I'm delighted to find your channel. It has explained so many things to me and now I can talk with my GP about my issues without being completely ignorant.
As a fellow PCOS sister, I hear you. Just because you didn't say it out loud, your "dieting," early on, is aka "disordered eating." I also hesitate to use the diagnostic nomenclature (it starts with ano). It's such a triggering word. Been there, as well as the bingeing, the depression triggers, all of it. Now, I'm pre-diabetic. I've given up simple carbs - had to, I did not like the over 125 fasting glucose readings. I've changed what and how I eat. 25 lbs down in the last 8 months. Hard work, loads of frustration and arguments with family.
I dont eat , and cant loss anything. I feel.like shit too. Its been 9 yrs of fighting all these things , except hot flash, and i still have my monthlys??
I've lost hope Fit for 30+ years, cardio and weight/resistance 3-4 times a week for 30 YEARS Im now 67. At 65-1/2 years old, in a 3-month period of time, I gained 2.5 inches on hips, 2 inches on each thigh, and my once-flat belly now hangs onto my lap. I watch sugar and carb intake l and eat relatively clean. Oh, and in the past 15 months, I've lost 2/3 of my hair. I don't know what elsevto tweak.

Collagen protein doesn’t support muscle mass just an FYI (but it is still good for you). It’s not a substitute for all proteins types.

It’s g per kilogram, not grams per pound. Does that help?
