  • This is my sister's authentic, Puerto Rican Coquito Recipe! I know this is coming a little later than desired but it is never too late to learn or make coquito. ;) My dairy free coquito recipe is on my Instagram.
Follow me on Instagram and Tiktok for daily content.

    / rebecahuffman
    Ingredients:
    For the tea
    -1 cup of water
-2 tbsp Ground Cinnamon + 1 cinnamon stick
    -1 tsp Ground Nutmeg
    -2 stars of Anise
-3 inches of Ginger, sliced as shown in video
    For the blender mixture:
    -1 can of condensed milk
    -1 can of evaporated milk
    -2 cans of coconut milk
-1 can of cream of coconut (we love Coco Lopez brand)
-1 tbsp of vanilla almond extract (or just do half a tablespoon each of vanilla and almond extracts)
-1/2 cup of the tea you've made and cooled
-1 cup (or more! I like mine stronger but this is my sister's recipe so... yeah)
    Instructions
-Make the tea by simmering on low medium to medium heat the water and tea ingredients listed above for 20 minutes. Set aside and let it cool off completely (up to an hour).
-Take the blender ingredients listed above and blend in the blender.
-Place in a serving container that pours and chill in fridge.
    -Enjoy!

Finally, I found somebody with the closest to the real recipe. I like to add a little nutmeg, vanilla extract, not too much, just about a teaspoon and two egg yolks. I have never tried it with a ginger. I’m gonna give it a go this time drink up Mi Gente Feliz Navidad.

Ladies, I have been looking to see if anyone makes coquito the way my family made it and you ladies have a wonderful recipe. I love that you used ginger in the tea with cloves. I will be trying that. Please make sure that you place a stick of cinnamon in the bottle . It really enhances the flavor even more. I see in the background that your sister is making the masa for pasteles. I recommend that you purchase a potato grater. It's the best invention since the napkin and you can grate the vegetables for the masa in like less than 15 minutes without hurting your knuckles. :) It's the "DOM/ITP POTATO GRATER.

Let the tea cool, so not to cook the milk products.

Oh, I forgot to subscribe, I am all over this Coquito 😉👌
I am half Mexican and Puerto Rican, so, I am trying to get this right. I saw Ana Belaval's coquito video, too. The more the merrier way of making coquito.
I have to make the virgin kind, too. I got no Bacardi Rum. So, afraid of the liquor. It will change my character totally. My family might not know who I am and put me out in the snow ☃brrrrrr
I see Patricia in the back making pasteles. Hmmm.

It’s necessary to cool it off because if not the coquito will curdle. Trust me 🤦🏻‍♀️
