When I started out, I always thought of Wild Turkey as bottom shelf rotgut. Once I gave it a chance, I fell in love. Wild Turkey 101 is absolutely one of my favorites. Great distillery. Great bourbon.
Sean Hardesty -I don’t know. Still tastes like rotgut to me. I have drank bourbon for years and I have gone back to this five times and it just doesn’t ever get any better.
When I was 17 WT101 made me lose my shirt, throw up green beans through my nose and sleep in a ditch. At 21 I got back on that horse and now it’s my go too bourbon. Thanks jimmy!
Bravo to all, Wild Turkey 101 is a national treasure and deserves to be on every whiskey shelf. It is the oddest thing, despite never meeting Jimmy or Eddie Russell, whenever I think of them, read an interview with them, or see them in a video, they feel like family to me. That warmth, figuratively and literally, carries over when I enjoy their whiskeys; sensational stuff.
Wild Turkey 101 was actually the first bourbon I tried in college. I had this before I even knew what bourbon was, and it’s still easily one of my favorites. It’s what got me into bourbon in the first place
Absolutely and I couldn't be more grateful for the quality of bourbon 101 is! $13 is what I pay for a bottle of this daily sipper! Simply amazing! My second best choice is Evan Williams BIB! Another "Diamond in the Rough" bourbon for the price! ;D
I love 101. My very first bottle tasted heavy vanilla, I was hooked. I never experienced that again. I had a bottle a while ago that half way down tasted like banana bread. OMG... Delicious. Never experienced that again either. My bourbon journey...
WT 101 has become my go-to mixing bourbon, replacing the Jim Beam white label that is still my wife's favorite. It's priced cheaply enough that I don't mind throwing it in some ginger ale or coke. It's readily available. The 101 stands up in mixers better. It's a great-looking bottle. And it's even smooth enough for an Old Fashioned. I am generally a Wheated Bourbon guy, so that's saying something for me. Love your channel, thanks!
Wild Turkey 101 is one of my favorites!! Any news on when they plan to reopen the visitor center and resume tours of the distillery? A few of us want hit there and the Jim Beam distillery this fall.
First I LOVE your first episode :) Second Chad you may be the luckiest man on the internet today. Wonderful video uncorking (IMO) a very UNDER RATED bourbon!
I drink it sometimes neat. But I actually mix it with coke most of the time. And it holds up well. In fact, it's awesome. The flavors are still there. My favorite whiskey,
I've got an uncorked bottle in the cabinet. The video of the slow pour in the Wild Turkey glass makes me want to open it now! Too many others to finish up first though. Great review. I'm going to watch it again when I uncork my bottle.
I think 101 is the perfect beginner bourbon. More flavor than the 80 proofers yet doesn’t hit like a Rare Breed. And price is perfect for experimenting with different ways of drinking (neat, rocks, drops of water, etc.)
Absolutely love WT 101, one of my favorites along with Rarebreed and Elijah Craig Barrelproof. I think many assume wrongly about it because of its price and commonplace, but it has more going on. It find it to have a more savoury and herbaceous character than most, I always get a nice sage note.
Last night I had a large bowl of Southwest rice (corn, black beans, sweet peppers added) with some hot sauce. I poured myself a tumbler of wild turkey 101 to enjoy with my food. My first sip after a few bites blew my mind. The 101 turned into sweet gooey caramel, has anyone else had any similar experiences/recommendations? I know what you eat can change the taste of your drink but never this dramatic.
Sara...I love the Goldilocks reference....to me, WT 101 is kind of an in-between Russell's Reserve 10 year and RR Single Barrel (RR 10 is 90 proof, RR SiB is 110 proof, and WT 101 is right in-between). The flavor profile of the Russell's and WT 101 are very similar to my palate. And you should definitely bring back Sam for a follow up to "drill" her on her bourbon journey and experiences (LOL)
I bought a bottle of Wild Turkey 81, and absolutely loved it. However, I bought a second bottle, and it didn't seem the same. I'll give it a try again though, no problem there.
Evan William bottle in bond and wild turkey 101. You can't beat them. 20 and 23 dollars. My favorites. Also heard old Forrester 100 is great but I can't find it in my area.
101 is the best Bourbon for the money.. period.. done.. bye bye.. aged 6 years, 100 proof, smooth and caramel is unmatched even with bourbons twice the cost.. there is nothing like it on the market for the price range..
It's cheaper than BT for sure. If it suits your taste, awesome. I can't stand the licorice note I get. Interestingly, I enjoy Russell's Reserve 10 yr and Longbranch.
Elijah Craig 94 proof would be a good place to start, it's flavors are better and longer lasting to me however, this is the best value/punch for the $. I would really like to try the 101 Rye but I can't find it. Thanks for this review. :0)
I have been racking my brain for the last few days trying to figure out what went on in the break. Chad should have come back saying “Honey, Where are my pants?” 😂 that was such s great movie. Ps. I am going with friendly HP conversation on the break
Funny I happened to purchase a Wild Turkey 101 this week too, no lie. Which other whiskeys over 100 proof would you recommend that are just as sweet and rich but not as spicy? Also looking for something preferably in the 20 to 30 dollar range.
Hey y'all! Yeah I'd have to agree 100 percent with Chad about 101. Definitely would NOT recommend to a beginner. WT 101 is not a beginner bourbon at all. I hated it too when I first started drinking bourbon. Took about two and a half years of developing my palate and experience before I realized just how good 101 really was! Now it's been my everyday bourbon for the longest time! Don't rush beginners to high rye/high proof bourbon! Introduce them to a soft wheater like Larceny or Makers or anything in the 40 percent range that's not high rye! Elijah Craig small batch (back when it was still a 12 year old age statement) is the only other benchmark bourbon I could think of to recommend a beginner. A beginner is not gonna like burning/spicy while just starting out.
Shhhhhhhhh
Let’s not let everyone know that 101 is so underrated!
Let’s keep the price down. 😂
Boy for real ! I just bought some today. They can’t tell the secrets out here
Fucking A Right!
“Let’s drill Sam” 🤣🤦🏻♂️
i always turn away whenever chad pops his cork.....
"It is girls gone wild turkey edition" 😂
WT101 is one of, if not THE best go to everyday drinkers.
The 101 is definitely one of my favorites. Loved this episode!
When I was 17 WT101 made me lose my shirt, throw up green beans through my nose and sleep in a ditch. At 21 I got back on that horse and now it’s my go too bourbon. Thanks jimmy!
The best part of waking up, is Wild Turkey in your cup.
Jeffery E Petrone ha
*sniff sniff* Mmmm
Dude, I have had WT at 9am and it is great!
Best line of the episode - in response to adding water: "But why?". Sam knows where it's at.
Sam is legit. 💪
And, "I think I prefer it without water".
Wild Turkey 101 was my first Bourbon and I liked it a lot. I still like rare breed a bit more but 101 is great
I enjoy Wild Turkey 101.
just tried this today i think its enjoyabe ron i kinda dont mind a straight shot i give it 87/100
I never bothered with it until a couple of months back. Holy smokes. It's DAMN good. Powerful delicious. I love, love, love it!
Great episode 👏 for some reason I read the thumbnail wrong and I thought it was like "Sarah's gone let's drink wild turkey" 😂🤣
It's Bourbon Night needs more Sam!
Bravo to all, Wild Turkey 101 is a national treasure and deserves to be on every whiskey shelf. Grew up in KY drinking 101, it was the standard of burbon for me. I compared all other whiskeys and bourbons to 101
Two Bourbon beauties, a perfect bourbon......and Chad....
It wouldn't be a good bourbon night without Chad...........Just sayin'! :]
Chad's a lucky bastard .....As good as 101 is, its even better when taking into consideration the modest price.
I never dreamed something like this would happen to me...
@@jspacone good channel haha
I prefer Girls who've Gone Wild Turkey over Girls who've Gone Cold Turkey.
Damn right keep rolling
Turkey 101 is what got me into bourbon
I agree this is the best bang for the buck whiskey....complex enough to sip daily
Absolutely and I couldn't be more grateful for the quality of bourbon 101 is! $13 is what I pay for a bottle of this daily sipper! Simply amazing! My second best choice is Evan Williams BIB! Another "Diamond in the Rough" bourbon for the price! ;D
@@ComicalCowboy1911 evan williams and wild turkey rotating every other glass the way i do it
@@ComicalCowboy1911 yep, my 2 as well.

Cinnamon?? Never got that , but vanilla, brown sugar/molasses , caramel, cookies...candy, a tiny bit of spice. Just DAMN GOOD 🥃
Wild Turkey 101 is always a great dram! Cheer's
First I LOVE your first episode :) Second Chad you may be the luckiest man on the internet today. Wonderful video uncorking (IMO) a very UNDER RATED bourbon!
This is one of the best channels
I love the Rare Breed. Also love the 3 of you in this. Sarah, I hope you were able to show Sara a good time 😉
my everyday drinker. love it.
Southwest Airlines is down with the 101. I like that.
I drink it sometimes neat. But I actually mix it with coke most of the time. And it holds up well. In fact, it's awesome. The flavors are still there. My favorite whiskey,
Insta like! My first whiskey ever and always dear to my heart you guys made my turkey month!
Cool idea! Giving WT101 some love!
Excellent bourbon. Entertaining review. Can’t get much better than that.
Thank you kindly!

I soon as saw this I took out my bottle of Wild Turkey 101. Which happened to be the only bottle of anything I had on me.
Wild Turkey 101 is a fantastic value. Where I live, it's about $21 at 750ML, but only $31 at 1.75L. A standard for me.
Wild turkey 101 is the only thing that goes in my 8oz flask
"Ask yourself the next question" That is pretty good tasting advice🙂
The flavor wheel comment was actually very helpful. Thanks.
I think 101 is the perfect beginner bourbon. More flavor than the 80 proofers yet doesn’t hit like a Rare Breed. And price is perfect for experimenting with different ways of drinking (neat, rocks, drops of water, etc.)
Always a bottle of 101 in my home.
I will agree .. CLICKBAIT HAHAHAHA Perfect Title Guys!!! Gotta love some WT101
Not only is Wild Turkey 101 a good drinking bourbon but it makes an excellent Bourbon Sidecar.
Wow, I really like wild turkey 101. I love the spicy finish.
My everyday drinker. I run through 5 liters os of 101 eacj month, along with a .750ml of Rare Breed. Wha great flavors!
😬 nice click bait title 😝. I love watching you guys. So glad I searched for best bourbons about a year ago ☺️
Sipping on some now. Definitely feel the heat of the 101both on the palette and on the tongue.
LOVE this juice !!!
First time trying it great for the price wild turkey 101 very nice

Dig the 101 test for the quality of a bar. Always get the sideways look. Best bang for your buck.
101 is $35 in my area (Northern Va). Even at that price, I still keep it in my cabinet.
Wow 😮 😮 😮 it's $18 here in Arizona.
Last night I had a large bowl of Southwest rice (corn, black beans, sweet peppers added) with some hot sauce. I poured myself a tumbler of wild turkey 101 to enjoy with my food. I like my Wild Turkey neat, finished my bottle a few days ago

Just in time for Thanksgiving

Try the 101 !
SAM 101 😂
Lmao love you guys.
A must have on the bar, for $20 for a 750ml it's a no brainer for the quality and flavor you get.
Love 101 for the price.
i am looking for highball whiskey . Any recommendation ? And cheap one ( $20 to $30 )
For some reason not a huge fan of the 101 but the Russell’s Single barrel is one of my favorites.
My three faves are Wild Turkey 101 buffalo trace & old Forster rye😋😋🤪
Took me until i drank half the bottle to start feeling it but i think for theoney in my opinion its the best Bourbon out there
What happened to the w/t 8 years old?
Girls gone wild turkey 😂😂😂
Gettin' Wild! WT is delish
Would love to hear your thoughts on Wild Turkey 101 vs Makers Mark 101!
We are all Kentuckian's.
Evan William bottle in bond and wild turkey 101. You can't beat them. 20 and 23 dollars. My favorites. Also heard old Forrester 100 is great but I can't find it in my area.

I feel like this episode would be Glen Quagmire's favorite. I don't know why... 😉
Giggity Giggity..
WT101 is SO GOOD!!!
Have you done an episode on the high west products?
Jason Eckert No, not yet but we plan to on one of our LIVE videos.
My favorite!
If you drink enough of it you get the "Jimmy legs".
My favorite budget bourban. $4 cheaper than BTrace here, and imo way better.
In Iowa, in the store by my home, it's $27.99, Buffalo Trace is $26.99 . I picked up one of each today!!
It's cheaper than BT for sure. If it suits your taste, awesome. I can't stand the licorice note I get. Interestingly, I enjoy Russell's Reserve 10 yr and Longbranch.
Greetings from nova scotia canada
Jimmy Russell has been known to say that his favorite is WT101 on the rocks. Maybe a follow up is in order for the GGW...T
I saw Jimmy in an interview say he keeps it in the freezer. Cold, no ice.
Lol can we say click bait!!! Haha love it guys
What is more American than drinking WT101?
Not much, I’ll say that! Maybe drinking it with apple pie?
Drinking it will a shot of moonshine. Good luck to you 🇺🇸
My bar has both 101 and Woodford at $6.
Also, 101 makes the best Sours.
Elijah Craig 94 proof would be a good place to start, it's flavors are better and longer lasting to me however, this is the best value/punch for the $. I would really like to try the 101 Rye but I can't find it. Thanks for this review. :0)
I get dried apple chips at the end!
I started jest doing shots an that's what I stuck with since jest shots on all bourbon along with a friend who does the same
I’ve heard this is also a great bourbon for Old Fashioneds.
i have heard adding water turns 101 into 81.
I have never met someone that likes Bourbon, that does not like 101.
It's a great whisky for the price and proof $28 out the door 4/10/2020 in Ga I like Old Forrester 100 proof , and Dickle #12 for under $30
I can't find OF 100. Heard it's great.
Sam is a fox!
I have been racking my brain for the last few days trying to figure out what went on in the break. Chad should have come back saying “Honey, Where are my pants?” 😂 that was such s great movie.
Ps. I am going with friendly HP conversation on the break
I also love WT101. And wonder how it stacks up to other Russel Products.
Funny I happened to purchase a Wild Turkey 101 this week too, no lie. Which other whiskeys over 100 proof would you recommend that are just as sweet and rich but not as spicy? Also looking for something preferably in the 20 to 30 dollar range.

I always get cherry vanilla notes
