Four Roses single barrel for me! I always think that it's interesting to listen to people with different palates talk about bourbon, it's really something special that two people can have two completely different opinions on the same drink.
Thank you for all of your best of's. The thing about it is it covers a lot of forgotten bourbons, so thank you for the reminders. I have been drinking bourbon now since the "eighth grade picnic", and have forgotten to buy some bourbons from your best of's. So, thank you for jogging my memory.
There's a lot of whiskey vloggers these days, you two have a nice chemistry and clean presentation. keep up the good work! I'm more of a Scotch drinker but appreciate other spirits and really enjoy your in-depth approach and for pointing me in the right direction or steering me clear of a few duds. Also I got the Tribeca glassware based on your show so thanks for that too, you should do some etched glasses or T-shirt merch to promote the channel.
Just discovered your channel!! I've always been a Knob Creek/Woodford Reserve guy and it's so cool to discover new Bourbons to try!!! Thank you so much!!!!
So this is the second video I’ve watched from its bourbon night and I’m already hooked. Just so you know.....I’m a bourbon/whiskey rookie but so into it! Oh ya, nobody else I would love to learn from than Sara :) Love the channel guys!
This was such a good video! The blind flight had me on the edge of my seat!! I’m new to bourbon and haven’t had any of top ones you guys drank so thanks gift the list!
Your video editing is very well done. You both have have a great ethos on camera and your chemistry together is wonderful. Thank you for the whiskey review
I saw the little notification come flashing over my iPad about a new flight fight vid!!! Sweet!! Immediately went on UA-cam to watch! Been waiting for this! Awesome as always and a great flight fight. Great top pics and yes all 7 bourbons in your finale are excellent bourbons. Any of the 50 in the total flight are really good, but man those top 7 are great. Chad, the Knob Creek single barrel is the bomb! That's one bourbon you don't forget your drinking. I did have a chance to try Rare Breed some time ago and it is without a doubt delicious. Yet, standing in front of all the bourbons in the liquor store with enough cash in hand to either buy the Knob Creek single barrel or the Rare Breed.......Knob takes it. Sara, I'm glad you are a happy camper :-). I'm expecting to see that bottle framed in the background in future vids! Ha! Wouldn't be surprised if you had even snuggled it that night as you slept :-). Thank you both for another great flight fight and look forward to more in the future!
Awesome video, you can't go wrong with either the McKenna or the knob Creek single barrel two I have all the time. Did my McKenna review not long ago either, one of my favorites. Cheers
Ok so by the way, by the way (yes a second by the way as I watch this again...which rocks!!!) I do like the way you did this flight. You gave us the tickers of what you were trying, yet still gave the final reveals more or less blind..in a sense. Great way to do it!
My go to used to be Elijah Craig 12 but that's unavailable now I've since found the bottom shelf isn't bad at all the under 25 section for me is up there with the with EC, Blantons, Russels Reserve. Ok maybe not quite but for the pruce you can't beat Evan williams or Ezra Brooks but OGD 114 is one of my favorites along with Buffalo Trace at any price
Sarah definitely has a taste for Heaven Hill products. I love Knob Creek single barrel . When Chad said oh what are you doing to me D I feel the same way. There is lots going on in that bottle. Thanks for doing these I now have a bunch of new things on my list for the next time I go bourbon shopping. Cheers
@@ItsBourbonNight oooohhhh okay!!! I have only been a subscriber for a short while and did not know. You guys are awesome, and Sarah is that mold of a whisk(e)y loving girl unicorn I hope to stumble on one of these days 😂
.Enjoyed it so much, got to try the Henry McKenna, bakers and Clyde Mays I was wondering about you guys for a while now, for the lack of content, but like you said, it takes 2 months to make this. Thank you so much for the entertainment and the education.
Thanks! We try to get one video out a week now. Doing pretty well so far. How much content would you like to see? Twice a week or more? Twice a week is a new goal, we'll see if we can start getting to that level. Thanks again.
Kentucky distilleries do close during the summer because their local water source is too warm during that time. I recall it's actually the water they use for cooling equipment but I can't remember where I read this.
alan D Corner Creek was in there. It was a late addition actually. Did it not show up in the bracket? Might goofed and used an old graphic of the bracket, but it was in there but did not advance for either or us.
Henry McKenna is one of my go-to's as well, although I've noticed some stark differences in newer bottles compared to older ones I have bunkered, with previous bottles being older, darker and more complex. Effects of the bourbon boom, I suppose. Still good, but just not quite the shelf sleeper it used to be, IMHO. KC SiB is my favorite daily drinker and is a steal at the price point, especially when you can source some of the store picks. Do you have any KY stores that do especially well with them? Binny's up here in Chicago just did a massive drop and there were definitely some honey barrels.
Because I don't have nearly enough glassware... can you provide a link to the glasses you're using in this video? Or the name of it? It's like a taller, skinnier glencairn...?
Of course! Here you go: www.amazon.com/Godinger-Tribeca-Whiskey-Glasses-Silver/dp/B00RII1Y0W/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1507650407&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=tribeca+whiskey+glasses&psc=1
I really enjoyed your bourbon "shootout"! Unopened McKenna SB, Rare Breed and Knob Creek are on my shelf. Really looking forward to them now. I will have to try Carl Mays now. Have you ever tried Old Beezer? That bottle is on my bourbon queue. I often buy bourbon based on your recommendations, so thank you!
Just a curiosity, do you all cap or consider capping your glassware during blind tastings, as to avoid aromatic co-mingling? I wonder if that would change anything on the judging?
Great Flight Fight. I am a McKenna fan myself but currently not on my shelf. I will have to go out and get some more soon. Keep up the videos - tasting and more cocktails! Oh yeah - nice shirt too Sara!
Hey, you guys used the older 112.8 pf Rare Breed release.... While great, the newer 116.8 pf release is *ridiculous*. The older stuff is 6, 8, 10,12yr barrels. The newer one is 6, 8, double amount of 12yr and a splash of 15yr. It is awesome, and you should revise this list.
Erik Lund We’re about ready to redo our 50 under $25, which was our first episode. We’ll eventually get to redoing this one as well as things become discontinued and new things are released. Yeah, we’ve had the newest proof of Rare Breed quite a bit since this episode. We love it! Crazy great value. I think the new proof was just coming out when we filmed this episode actually.
Knob Creek Single Cask is my favourite among affordable options. I also like mixing it with Wild Turkey Rare Breed, which is my least favourite in terms of palate but adding a splash of KCSC makes it quite delicious.
Henry McKenna is my favorite too, but like you mention, every bottle can be VERY different. If you find one you really like, go back and get more from the same barrel number. (Edit; that may be one of the benefits from buying at a local store vs. online. My local ABC stores typically shelve multiple bottles from the same barrel number, so they must be shipped that way.)
Ha! Chad’s look of faux acceptance when Knob Creek was announced is amazing. “Okay, cool” which really meant “uhhhh nope, false, not possible, someone mixed the letters up.”
some of these I havent tried, like Bakers and Rowens. Was rooting for Clyde Mays, that one's nice. I'm intrigued by the KC single barrel, will have to pick it up if I see it. .. EH Taylor small batch though, would guess that'd be my favorite. What are the chances I could pick it out of 50 samples?
I thoroughly enjoyed this video... great job! Lots of fantastic information to digest. Just some miscellaneous comments: Chad is a cool dude. I think he'd be a great bud for sampling a few drams. Sara is awesome, and she's so charming that she could probably make any kind of video and I'd listen intently. Actually take a subject that I find extremely difficult to learn... let's say French class (learning a language)... if Sara were my teacher I'd probably sit in the front row, I'd raise my hand a lot, and I'd try to be the best student. She's great. Cheers!
Loving the Flight Fight format. Ive been watching reviews on bourbon for a few months now, and this has to be one of my favorite places to find a review (or comparison). Keep it up guys.
Bought the single barrel knob creek on a vaca to New Orleans and was extremely impressed, I knew it was a phenomenal buy from the first sip! Usually it takes a few sips to realize the value
love your flight fights. chad i wondered if you swirl your bourbon before every sip for the same reason i swirl it - the taste of the bourbon is more consistent that way i think. if i don't swirl it, every sip is different which i don't like. i'm new to bourbon (only two bottles) and i noticed it in four roses single barrel. is it true for all bourbons?
David Homoney Yep, sure are. Corner Creek and Buffalo Trace were both in the bracket, which I guess you saw. Angel's Envy wasn't because it's a finished bourbon and that was one of our qualifiers to narrow the field.
Being new to appreciating Whiskey, this is a great find for me. As a budget drinker I need this information as I don't plan on having fifty options to sort through in the cabinet all the time so I like sampling off of the choices of the better informed. I do laugh however, as I did my own bracket challenge a while back, but with the tiny bottles, lol...
Old forester is a all time fave of mine but for budget, I’m so surprised that they would not have advanced the buffalo trace. The single barrel bullet is a must for any bourbon drinker.
Love watching your videos, almost feel like I know you guys but we don’t...lol you should make a video on who Chad and Sara are, and how you met etc...
Knob Creek does not surprise me in the least. I have a couple of store pick single barrels that I think is some of the best bourbon I have ever had! Great Job: Guys & Gals!
Four Roses single barrel for me! I always think that it's interesting to listen to people with different palates talk about bourbon, it's really something special that two people can have two completely different opinions on the same drink.
Sara's level of excitement for Henry McKenna getting 1st place was amazing!! Haha. Great video guys!
Just sipping, for the first time ever, the Knob Creek Single Barrel. And I'm liking it!
Knob Creek is a solid bourbon. My other goto would be Buffalo Trace for an every day.

Thanks for the great comment!
Love the Henry McKenna as well. Wish they would put a cork in the bottle though. Not a fan of the screw cap.
Matt Garman Yeah, it feels like a cork worthy bourbon.
The new bottles have a cork now!
The world needs more women who can appreciate Bourbon. Bravo!
The world needs more women who appreciate bourbon and dragon ball z!
My mom drinks whiskey and my dad drinks vodka. Needless to say I inherited my mom's tastes.
Truth!
She's cute
Um, brava
Nice reviews. Bulleit Barrel Strenght? , Haven't seen that one...

Knob Creek SB is and has been my favorite Bourbon since about 10 years ago.. the first time I tried it!
Hi guys, just watch your video a year later. Since I a newbie in the bourbon world, your videos is totally educating. It is an awesome video. Thanks
Great video! You two are fun to watch. Thank you so much.
Well done guys. I was quite excited when this came up..
I could watch you guys enjoy bourbon all day.....Oh wait....I did watch you ALL DAY! Damn.
W Dombroski Sounds like a good use of time to us! Drink More Bourbon!
Congrats by the way. Saw it on Instagram.
The Knob Creek 120 SiB is superb. One of my top 3 every-day bourbons.
I really love this backdrop over the one you use now.
We still use this one for all Flight Fights and some other episodes, just not Uncorkings.
@@ItsBourbonNight oooohhhh okay!!! I have only been a subscriber for a short while and did not know. You guys are awesome, and Sarah is that mold of a whisk(e)y loving girl unicorn I hope to stumble on one of these days 😂
Also Old Forester 1920, 100 and 1870 will always be on my shelf as well.
Very informative video. Good job! Are those Libbey glasses you are sipping out of?
Tribeca glasses. They can be found on Amazon.
Thanks!
Killed it! Great video. Keep it up, you too have an awesome thing going and its sure to take off!

Once a week/2 weeks would be great.
But please try to uncork/test available Bourbon rather than rare stuff.
I'll watch it all though
Thanks
I'm sure you get it all the time Sarah, but you're such a keeper 🙂 congrats Chad on finding such a catch. Love y'all's vids, keep it up!
Thanks! And I agree, I think I'll keep Sara around ;)
Kentucky distilleries do close during the summer because their local water source is too warm during that time. I recall it's actually the water they use for cooling equipment but I can't remember where I read this.
The Henry McKenna bib single barrel for the money is GREAT!!!
Great 1 year anniversary video. Love that classy straight from the bottle finish. Where is the Corner Creek, too uncommon for this bracket?
alan D Corner Creek was in there. It was a late addition actually. Did it not show up in the bracket? Might goofed and used an old graphic of the bracket, but it was in there but did not advance for either or us.
It's Bourbon Night opps sorry I see it now, it is in bracket 1.
Henry McKenna is one of my go-to's as well, although I've noticed some stark differences in newer bottles compared to older ones I have bunkered, with previous bottles being older, darker and more complex. Yeah, we have several stores here in KY that do private barrel picks and we've been lucky enough to go on one our selves! Great stuff.

Bobby-Lee Phelps It’s a possibility, but we don’t think it would co-mingle enough to throw anything off. We like where your head it is, though!
do you have this in a list format?
Excellent video. You guys save me a ton of money and keep me from picking losers.
Sorry for another question guys but the Clyde May used, was it the straight bourbon or the apple infused???
No problem. Straight bourbon, of course!

Very nice video. This is definitely showing me the reality of blind tasting.
Super cool video! Just making my way into bourbon so many options out there. And naturally +2 with me for Rick and Morty reference.

Chad, just cracked open Knob Creek single barrel and it is GOOD! Thx👍
Thanks. This is so much fun, and helpful.
An excellent and sophisticated selection process with some unexpected but nonetheless superb winners.
Red Coat Thanks!
It would be cool to get a PDF of the bracket to do at home
Scottish guy here and I love bourbon, love your videos
Noah’s Mill has been my GoTo, I’m looking forward to trying some new ones.
Same. I think it's my all time favorite. And this is after bartending at a bourbon based bar since I was 17. I've had a lot of others.
Knob Creek does not surprise me in the least. I have a couple of store pick single barrels that I think is some of the best bourbon I have ever had! Great Job: Guys & Gals!
I just found some store picks myself. Little pricey, but man are they good.
Rare Breed by far is one of my favorite go to bourbons that is readily avail here in Michigan. Love Rare Breed. Huge Wild Turkey fan overall.
Def gonna try all 4 of the top 2s
Which is best price performance?
Several of the very best bourbons constantly available on the shelf.. very well done you two!
First time viewer here and I really enjoyed the video.
good Grieff Thanks! Great to have you aboard.
Evan Williams Black sure taste good to me and yeah I've gone top shelf
