Just discovered your channel!! I've always been a Knob Creek/Woodford Reserve guy and it's so cool to discover new Bourbons to try!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Love the Henry McKenna as well. Wish they would put a cork in the bottle though. Not a fan of the screw cap.
Matt Garman Yeah, it feels like a cork worthy bourbon.
The new bottles have a cork now!
I love watching you two enjoy a great spirit together. Excellent video. Bourbon for life!
This was such a good video! The blind flight had me on the edge of my seat!! I’m new to bourbon and haven’t had any of top ones you guys drank so thanks gift the list!
Love it guys. I always look forward to your flights the most and I was stoked for this one.
Great production. I love anything Knob Creek.
I'm sure you get it all the time Sarah, but you're such a keeper 🙂 congrats Chad on finding such a catch. Love y'all's vids, keep it up!
Thanks! And I agree, I think I'll keep Sara around ;)
My go-to bourbon Knob Creek Single Barrel was Chad's choice? I love being validated by strangers. LOL.
Knob Creek Single Cask is my favourite among affordable options. I also like mixing it with Wild Turkey Rare Breed, which is my least favourite in terms of palate but adding a splash of KCSC makes it quite delicious.
The Henry McKenna bib single barrel for the money is GREAT!!!
Henry McKenna is my favorite too, but like you mention, every bottle can be VERY different. If you find one you really like, go back and get more from the same barrel number. (Edit; that may be one of the benefits from buying at a local store vs. online. My local ABC stores typically shelve multiple bottles from the same barrel number, so they must be shipped that way.)
Buffalo Trace, Angel's Envy, and Corner Creek are incredible and well under 50.
David Homoney Yep, sure are. Corner Creek and Buffalo Trace were both in the bracket, which I guess you saw. Angel's Envy wasn't because it's a finished bourbon and that was one of our qualifiers to narrow the field.
chad just loves jim beam
sara just loves heaven hill
We do love those brands, and so, so many more!
Old forester is a all time fave of mine but for budget, I’m so surprised that they would not have advanced the buffalo trace. The single barrel bullet is a must for any bourbon drinker.
Great 1 year anniversary video. Love that classy straight from the bottle finish. Where is the Corner Creek, too uncommon for this bracket?
alan D Corner Creek was in there. It was a late addition actually. Did it not show up in the bracket? Might goofed and used an old graphic of the bracket, but it was in there but did not advance for either or us.
It's Bourbon Night opps sorry I see it now, it is in bracket 1.
An excellent and sophisticated selection process with some unexpected but nonetheless superb winners.
Red Coat Thanks!
Killed it! Great video. Keep it up, you too have an awesome thing going and its sure to take off!
Being new to appreciating Whiskey, this is a great find for me. As a budget drinker I need this information as I don't plan on having fifty options to sort through in the cabinet all the time so I like sampling off of the choices of the better informed. I do laugh however, as I did my own bracket challenge a while back, but with the tiny bottles, lol...
Four Roses single barrel for me! I always think that it's interesting to listen to people with different palates talk about bourbon, it's really something special that two people can have two completely different opinions on the same drink.
i hope you spread this out over a few days... with that many samples the intoxication could impare your judgement
Not surprised you guys picked different finalists. Turns out , contrary to mainstream media, men and women are different. I feel Chad guessed more of his winners because has more strong favourites. Or maybe drinks them more often as he has them at home. Don't feel bad Sara
Drago Puskaric Or maybe Chad is just better at everything. Hahahaha, just kidding. And this is Chad obviously.
Buffalo Trace is my daily drinker because it is good and cost me $23 in my area. But Michter's is goto when I've had a tuff week or I want something really good.
Geez. Where the heck did you get some of these Bourbons wow
what a shame we didn't get to see the tastings leading up to the final - those would have been amazing as well!!!
We filmed them all and if I ever get enough time, I'll edit them and put them out as a playlist.
i need more of this shit in my life....i need it, do it with single malt next!!!! then with GIN! .....then .....Sherry......or ...Cognac....do it!
It's a Bourbon channel, maybe they'll have a branch off "It's a Sherry Night" channel soon...
You two do some great reviews. And the flight fights are interesting and entertaining. Keep drinking bourbon,, yeah straight from the bottle even. America,,yahoo
Thomas Wells Thanks, Thomas! We appreciate that!
I am a big fan of old Ezra 101 and 1783 so I will definitely try mckennah!
You guys are great! I love my bourbon.
Great Flight Fight! The blind results are always surprising! Loved the intro.
Scotch Test Dummies Thanks guys!
love your flight fights. chad i wondered if you swirl your bourbon before every sip for the same reason i swirl it - the taste of the bourbon is more consistent that way i think. if i don't swirl it, every sip is different which i don't like. i'm new to bourbon (only two bottles) and i noticed it in four roses single barrel. is it true for all bourbons?
Have you done the worst of? I would like I see that.
Love your channel. I'm new to bourbon, but my cigar lounge had a tasting and my favorite was Calumet Farms. Sad to see it didnt make your list! (Under $50 here in the Philly burbs.) Any love for Calumet Farms?
First time viewer here and I really enjoyed the video.
good Grieff Thanks! Great to have you aboard.
Don't watch this and expect you're own tastes to match theirs. Bourbon preference is extremely individualized.
Agree with you. I watch these and other channels to get recommendations but I’ve noticed I don’t do well with bourbons over 90 proof. The alcohol overwhelms and takes out the flavors & diminishes the drinking experience. So I stick with mostly between 80-90 proof. Just have to take recommendations, try a few and see what you like. There is some trial and error but it’s usually fun experiments
Michters and Evan Williams single barrel for me.
She gets cuter and the theme song gets worse every time.
Rhabdo B Thanks!
Evan Williams single is only $20/bottle where I get it. I think it's a really good bourbon. My go to is bookers, I'm getting it under $40/bottle
BiteThis Where do you live? Those are some great prices!
California, Raleys has special 6 - bottle pricing, where you get an extra 33% off each bottle. I only found 1 Raley's that carried bookers though.
BiteThis That's awesome.
I mustve gotten a bad bottle of Henry KcKenna .. i thought it was very dry and not good .
Can you add a list of the top 15.
TheFatHack We can do that.
Finally, I’ve been waiting! Lol. Awesome, thank you for a great video. I going to go get the Henry McKenna now. I’ve been on the bench about it, so thank you. Oh and I’m looking for that Clyde Mays now, sounds good
Scott Carpenter Shhhhhh... don't be saying anything out loud about a 10year old, Bottled in Bond Single Barrel whiskey that's easily found & affordable. I want to still be able to find this on the shelf next year.
J.D. Kimple **in a low whisper** oh sorry..yeah, shhhhh. Lol
I love H. McK......it's good to know that it did well. Love the the show, cheers!
Drink Whiskey, the best job ever.
Next you should do rare and hard to find whiskeys.
Robert Morris Absolutely.
How comparable is the single barrel four roses to the small batch? The small batch is a favorite of mine and I’d love to try their other products.
Thanks in advance for anyone who answers. Cheers
I love Four Roses. I actually prefer the Small Batch over the Single Barrel. I am also a big fan of Evan Williams honey and single barrel.
EHT & McKenna under $50 and readily available... cute.
Haha yeah, a lot has changed since 2017 when we did this video!
Just happened by this in Jan 2019, here I thought I was so smart for having Clyde and Mckenna ($25 at Costco!!) as regulars haha. Just spent $60 on Clyde's special reserve and was not blown away though...cheers all
Old Grand-Dad 114 was both in the under $25 and the $25-$50.... Price increase a year later?
Tim Ralston Exactly. It was discontinued for a short time and then brought back at a higher price.
Just started watchin, also curious, is the intro song chad singing with auto-tune? because it's magical haha
7:32 Final 4
How did Maker's 46 not make it to the competition? Did it break a bourbon law?
I would be so bitter, watching this, if I wasn't already sipping Four Roses Small Batch ;)
I’d love to be there to help when you start the next bracket!! 🥃
You 'guys' are cool. Yet I hate that you mentioned Henry.... its a secret.
J Alexandr Hahaha not anymore it’s not! But it wasn’t our fault, it was the San Francisco World Spirit’s Competition! Hahahahha
Whats up with that cloudy rock in the intro? Make some clear ice
No Stagg Jr? Just got a bottle last night for $49.95.
TheGuyWithTaste Dan It's usually around $55 in these parts when we can find it, which isn't often, so it also doesn't fall into the readily available category.
I love you sara
Review wild turkey rare breed bourbon
Blind taste tests are so interesting. Excellent production value. Sara is a dime. That is all.
Just tried the Clyde mays.. ☹️
Larceny was great 😋
Need more budget friendly reviews!
The world needs more women who can appreciate Bourbon. Bravo!
The world needs more women who appreciate bourbon and dragon ball z!
My mom drinks whiskey and my dad drinks vodka. Needless to say I inherited my mom's tastes.
Truth!
She's cute
Um, brava
Every time I buy something that is not Elijah Craig I end up wishing I bought Elijah craig
Doug Golden Golden I will agree. Bought Weller Special Reserve the other day and I think it’s possibly the worst bourbon I’ve tried. I’ll take Elijah Craig any day over the Weller.
@@roscoepcoltrane23 Elijah Craig the only bourbon I drink neat I prefer the small batch over the barrel proof
Haven’t tried the barrel proof yet but I’d like to. Really like the small batch though. Also like Four Roses small batch really well.
There's a lot of whiskey vloggers these days, you two have a nice chemistry and clean presentation. keep up the good work! I'm more of a Scotch drinker but appreciate other spirits and really enjoy your in-depth approach and for pointing me in the right direction or steering me clear of a few duds. Also I got the Tribeca glassware based on your show so thanks for that too, you should do some etched glasses or T-shirt merch to promote the channel.
Just sipping, for the first time ever, the Knob Creek Single Barrel. And I'm liking it!
Knob Creek is a solid bourbon. My other goto would be Buffalo Trace for an every day.
My go to used to be Elijah Craig 12 but that's unavailable now I've since found the bottom shelf isn't bad at all the under 25 section for me is up there with the with EC, Blantons, Russels Reserve. Ok maybe not quite but for the pruce you can't beat Evan williams or Ezra Brooks but OGD 114 is one of my favorites along with Buffalo Trace at any price
The Henry McKenna was a GREAT suggestion! Love it!!
Because I don't have nearly enough glassware... can you provide a link to the glasses you're using in this video? Or the name of it? It's like a taller, skinnier glencairn...?
Of course! Here you go: www.amazon.com/Godinger-Tribeca-Whiskey-Glasses-Silver/dp/B00RII1Y0W/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1507650407&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=tribeca+whiskey+glasses&psc=1
GREAT flight fight guys, can't wait for the $50-$75 flight. P.S. I'll be looking for the Clyde May.
Charles Nappo Thanks!
Why wasn't Angel's Envy in this? I'm positive it would have easily beat the shit out of all of these other bourbons.
p.s. I'm a huge Angel's Envy fan and find it tastes more like a fine Scotch then a traditional bourbon
Holcombi Because it didn't meet our rules requirements. It's a finished bourbon. We had to narrow the field somehow.
I believe their rules were bourbon that was not finished on specialized cask or barrels.
It's technically (aka legally) not classified as a bourbon.
Damn you have Angel’s Envy under 50$ where your at?
@@schrodingerschad6400 you are right.
Four roses keeps coming up in the past few days. I think it’s a sign…
Love watching your videos, almost feel like I know you guys but we don’t...lol you should make a video on who Chad and Sara are, and how you met etc...
I've been digging the Old Forester 100 proof lately. 1.75L of pure bourbon goodness.
Blind flights are just such a mindfuck. I like it when I get surprised.
Lots of new stuff to try from this. Great flight fight.
Sara's level of excitement for Henry McKenna getting 1st place was amazing!! Haha. Great video guys!
Awesome video, you can't go wrong with either the McKenna or the knob Creek single barrel two I have all the time. Did my McKenna review not long ago either, one of my favorites. Cheers
Sorry guys.....Just to hard to follow this format. I have no idea who won!
How about Larceny bourbon it's a very nice wheat bourbon at a great price
Just a curiosity, do you all cap or consider capping your glassware during blind tastings, as to avoid aromatic co-mingling? I wonder if that would change anything on the judging?
Bobby-Lee Phelps It’s a possibility, but we don’t think it would co-mingle enough to throw anything off. We like where your head it is, though!
Anybody else catch the Rick and Morty reference? New viewer here... "And that's the wayyyy... the news goes"
😊
Nice reviews. Bulleit Barrel Strenght? , Haven't seen that one...
Just finished this video...might be my favorite thing on the internet right now...you guys are awesome! Time to binge watch the rest of your channel.
you two have broaden my love for everything bourbon thank you. so sad four roses didn't make it
Noah’s Mill has been my GoTo, I’m looking forward to trying some new ones.
Same. I think it's my all time favorite. And this is after bartending at a bourbon based bar since I was 17. I've had a lot of others.
Rare breed is definitely my fave!🥃😎
That intro song is absolutely Terrible.. no offense please..
Hey guys. I love your format of making tasting like a knockout tournament. I will definitely be doing some of that with my scotch research. It is a shame that here in Australia I can't buy bourbons at your friendly prices!
Uncultured heathens, drinking straight from the bottle....
Just like me.
Henry McKenna is one of my go-to's as well, although I've noticed some stark differences in newer bottles compared to older ones I have bunkered, with previous bottles being older, darker and more complex. Effects of the bourbon boom, I suppose. Still good, but just not quite the shelf sleeper it used to be, IMHO.
KC SiB is my favorite daily drinker and is a steal at the price point, especially when you can source some of the store picks. Do you have any KY stores that do especially well with them? Binny's up here in Chicago just did a massive drop and there were definitely some honey barrels.
Yeah, we have several stores here in KY that do private barrel picks and we've been lucky enough to go on one our selves! Great stuff.
Hey, you guys used the older 112.8 pf Rare Breed release.... While great, the newer 116.8 pf release is *ridiculous*.
The older stuff is 6, 8, 10,12yr barrels. The newer one is 6, 8, double amount of 12yr and a splash of 15yr.
It is awesome, and you should revise this list.
Erik Lund We’re about ready to redo our 50 under $25, which was our first episode. We’ll eventually get to redoing this one as well as things become discontinued and new things are released. Yeah, we’ve had the newest proof of Rare Breed quite a bit since this episode. We love it! Crazy great value. I think the new proof was just coming out when we filmed this episode actually.
They all should be 100 proof BIB are great
Hey!!! Your color is getting better. Still not there yet.
Evan Williams Black sure taste good to me and yeah I've gone top shelf
Great video. Horrible singer for opening.
Haven't even watched it yet, but I've been waiting for this for too long! So excited! Love what you guys do, keep it going!
It sounds like they are describing each other and it keeps getting hotter and hotter and after the shoot itll be baby making time haha. Maybe that's just me though. It's all very sweet how they talk to each other..
Knob Creek does not surprise me in the least. I have a couple of store pick single barrels that I think is some of the best bourbon I have ever had! Great Job: Guys & Gals!
I just found some store picks myself. Little pricey, but man are they good.
Heaven hill.40-out the door
do you have this in a list format?
Woke up this morning and never heard of Clyde Mays. Tonight I own a bottle! Blind tasted against some small batch Four Roses and really don't care who won...we enjoyed both. Y'all are great...but still waiting for the video on your backstory...who are you guys??
By the way....yes....worst of again on Halloween....absolutely a vid.
Do our Bourbons get lonely on the shelf when we're not home drinking them
Baaaahhhhaaa awesome " Holy Shit " you guys are great keep the vids coming . My tastes are more towards Chad Knob creek 120 and the Rare breed would be my top choices excellent journey
Love the videos!
