Some people wonder how the Stones managed to last for so very many decades, but this song is just one of MANY that tell you how and why they lasted. And "the drummer," Charlie Watts .. one of the coolest dudes that have ever lived. --- And the band's name came from the 1959 compilation LP The Best Of Muddy Waters lying on the floor. Side 1, track 5 was called Rollin’ Stone (or Rollin’ Stone Blues, if you had the UK version of the album). They, along with most every other band, British or otherwise, were really big fans of Muddy Waters.
Do you know if he reacted to the next song? Tumbling dice?
This is my favorite song by the Stones. Mick Jagger is 80 years old and still performimg. Mick still rocks!
MINE TOO! 😊
YES!!! The Stones’ Disco song!! 🪩 🔥. At this time, Disco was at its height, and a lot of the biggest rock bands put out songs with that 4 on the floor disco beat with the funky bass. Queen did “Another One Bites the Dust”, Rod Stewart did “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” and Kiss did “I Was Made For Loving You”. One of my favorite Rolling Stones songs. Other Stones songs I recommend you react to: “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking”, and the forever cool “Monkey Man” ❤
Don't forget Heart and their disco homage, Straight On! It favors Miss You w that 4 on the floor beat.
@@bearballin Oh most definitely! And it’s my favorite Heart song ❤️
Actually, if anything, the drummer (the late Charlie Watts) is probably the only one in the band who is stone-cold sober in that vid. He was a jazz drummer capable of producing some sophisticated rhythms, but a disco beat is just not that challenging to play. That's why he seemed zoned out.
Not true. Charlie was developing a heroin addiction during the Some Girls sessions, which became a serious problem by 1983. He had hit his lowest point circa 1985 and cleaned up after that.
Huh. Didn't know that.@@fuchsiaswing8545
Bro, no lie, I am sitting on a bus at the train station in Tokyo, Japan watching your reaction and you got me laughing so loud, all these Japanese people are looking at me like I escaped the asylum. When you said the drummer is just gone and playing from muscle memory, you had me in tears man.
The drummer (Charlie Watts) is most likely the LEAST stoned person in that bunch. He is usually high on the all mighty groove.
When they play this live, they do an extended version to allow the bass player to show his funk. It is soooo good !
Cool song! The stones were able to remain relevant with the times as the music changed. ✌🏻
They were just having a little fun with this video. Fantastic to see...thank you!
Excellent reaction! We can see it in your face!
Gotta check out the Stones' "Shattered" from the same album. Fun song! 🔥
Love your reaction young man 👍 stones and jagger are legendary. 😅😊
Worlds Greatest Rock and Roll band, have loved them since 1964.
Disco era and the Rolling Stones were in it with the rest of us! Mick and the rest of them were high as a kite. That haze you see wasn't caused by the lightning. Watching Mick strut around on stage was a highlight of his performance. 😂😂 I apologize if I have offended anyone out there, but dawn they were good!
Stoned Stones havin a great time
Mick is definitly not shy
Your reaction to this song is priceless. This was a favorite song of mine when I was a kid - I never realized what a stupid song it was until seeing your reaction.
This album was not taken bery seriously when it was released. They made several hokey videos around that time. After seeing them live 16 times, I can tell you many of the songs from this album are giants played live. Miss You, Some Girls, Shattered, and especially Beast of Burden are banger seen live.
Here’s a fun fact about the Stones. Ron Wood, an extraordinary guitarist, joined in 1975. As late as 2005 he was still the F’n new guy 😂
Man WTF, literally this was my favorite song ,the radio version is soooooooooooo much different, but now this is all ill see ans think about,if this was my first time listening to the stones id never again , creepy ass shit damn 40 years old and learned this today
Musiq soulchild did a cover it's pretty cool as well
I was never a big Stones fan, but this one I always liked. It's the funk I guess. I do prefer the studio version, and for some reason I always loved the "...che che che what's da matter wit you boy..."
Amusing comments about Charlie by the way... 😊🥁🥁🥁
If you dig the funk, you'll like the Black and Blue album. You'll want to listen to “Fingerprint File” from It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll (1974), too.
And Charlie was on the smack during the Some Girls period until about 1985.
STONES ARE THE GREATEST...GOAT 🐐
You've having way too much fun.
I noticed you've done several of Johnny Cash's songs, but never "A Boy Named Sue." It's a hoot. Only Johnny Cash could pull it off.
😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sounds live. Album version vocals are prestine.
You did a reaction to STAN WALKER 6yrs ago, you really need to do one for "I am", song for the movie "origin", it's beyond beyond incredible!!!!!!!!! He's a cuz as we say here in New Zealand ❤
😂😂😂
Nope.
It's a much older saying:
"A rolling stone gathers no moss."
(i.e.: something that's constantly moving doesn't get old... - and things of that nature.)
B.T.W.: at THIS point: Charlie (the drummer)
and Bill (the bassist) are the 2 STRAIGHT ones in the band!
🤘🤘
"No cap!" (as your gen. says, I believe!😛)
Not sure how high Charlie is in this specific video, but in the Some Girls sessions (circa 1977-78), he had begun flirting with heroin, and it would progress into a serious habit by 1983. He did not get off drugs until about 1985-86.
Black sabbath - War Pigs. All i gotta say
React to The Rolling Stones ft Axl Rose - Salt Of The Earth.
Can u do some BLACK CROWS...JEALOUS AGAIN & TWICE AS HARD...hello from Kentucky ❤❤
What version is this?
🤘🏽⚜️🤘🏽
I prefer the studio version to his live vocals here, but it’s still ok.
Charlie was probably not stoned, maybe a little bored, but he was the square of the group.
Charlie was definitely stoned. He was dabbling hard with heroin during Some Girls, and by 1983, he had a serious addiction problem that would last until about 1985.
"Cool ugly"
It’s clear you don’t know what you’re talking about. Their drummer Charlie Watts was one of the only members that didn’t experiment heavily with drugs or alcohol.
Please, for chrissakes learn the facts before you run your mouth
Another bad lip sync vid. Do the LP version.
