It's a little too late to share this frugal tip, but on a particularly tight year I spent $5 at the Dollar Tree (yes, when it was still just a $1). I bought 3 bags of Tootsie Roll pops, a box of white tissue and some thin black ribbon. I had a black marker at home already. I made ghosts, tying a tissue around the lollipop with the black ribbon and dotting two eyes with a black marker. I spent the evening at my sisters (I lived in an older neighborhood that did not have a lot of kids) so that my two young boys could enjoy trick or treating with their cousins. My sister likes to go all out. All chocolate. Reeses, Hersheys, Kit Kats, the works. Half way through the night all the kids knocking kept asking if, "this was the house with the ghost lollipops?" I've never seen my sister so upset with me. 🤣
By the way I love the monthly recap hauls! We spent $300 this month and all we bought were fresh fruits and veg and a couple of bread products. I had knee replacement so my husband did all the shopping for the first time in our marriage of 7 years. His comment: “they’re trying to kill us with these prices! I see why you insisted on building a pantry.”

Made tomato sauce from the tomatoes that were thrown in there from the garden this summer, used up.some bananas in baked oatmeal muffins. Will use up quite a bit of what was hidden.

I do not buy organic items, unless something just happens to be. But, I have been buying the organic 2% milk from Walmart for a long while now. We used to have to throw milk out because it would go bad, but the organic variety lasts a LOT longer once opened. And unopened the date is months away. It is more expensive yes, but when we don't waste and throw it out, in the long run it is much cheaper. The quality of the organic milk is actually noticeable too. Well worth it for our family.

i work at the Albertsons in Rexburg and i know it’s annoying but if the milk is bad you can always return it, no questions asked. I agree the milk has been gross for awhile so I normally drink oat or almond because it lasts much longer but yeah if anything is ever gross or you just do the like it then you can definitely bring it back!

About the organic milk, your lovely family might not go back to regular milk. I went out to "sprout " for their less expensive eggs, since then have been trying to go back to any eggs. The yokes are not as delicious, they are a tad orange, so probably more nutritious. May not because your babies are not spoiled like mine are.

I love that you’re documenting how much you’re spending on groceries. I think it’s probably helping to keep those haters at bay. Lol We spend very little money on candy for Halloween. We live in a small neighborhood with only 25 houses. I like to call it an enclave. 😂 There are fewer than 10 children in our neighborhood. I usually just make up little bags for each kid. Also, the city center of the town that I live in, which is a 5 minute walk from our house, has a huge Halloween gathering every year. So most families go to that!🎃

Christine and family have a great week have fun great haul thanks from Oklahoma
Wish we had that many trick or treaters! I had 5 and that was 5 more than last year! Got my pumpkins and lights out early but I think the rain here put some families off.
My aunt and uncle gave me apples from their orchard but there were so many that the last ones were going very soft so I made apple sauce from them all and then made an apple sauce cake. It's delicious! I thought 'Christine would be proud of me' when I was baking it.
Hi how are you?
I’ve never heard of a Costco discount store? What is the name? Are they nationwide?
I live in Michigan and our milk has been like that for the last few months too, ours is Meijer Milk.
Yeah for nice neighbors!!
We spend too much on candy. We buy full size bars and chips for those that don't do chocolate.
I have a ton of frozen corn too and I realized it's left over from last year's Ibotta Thanksgiving promotion.
NORM!!! Turd Ferguson!!! love you more now!
Loving the longer hair look on you 😊 although, your hair is always really pretty!
Thank you so much
Agreed very pretty
Looking for some fish recipes. I have some steel head trout I got for reasonable price. Any ideas?
We passed out bags of chips and slap bracelets. Kids seemed to love it
Hi how are you?
Is there a locator to find costco salvage stores....thats awesome stuff.
you had me at corn and crawfish chowder...holy cow that sounds amazing!!
Nice! I did $150 for a house of two. (My other half and I) and we got ALL organic products for the entire month. Stomach sensitive couple here, it was a awesome haul! Coupons!
What makes a difference in your stomach for organic? I have a super sensitive stomach and just wash all my stuff and I'm fine.
@@hannahkayee831 I mentioned organic products because they cost more. So to get as much as I did, for $150 was awesome. Good for you and your stomach though.
Ok that Chris Farley clip “ was my favorite “
😂😂😂😂😂
Those cracker for $1 is amazing!! I really wish our area had a discount store.
I’m interested to hear how the hearts of palm items taste.
Can say I love your digital cookbook! Since I've been following you, I'm saving a lot by cooking at home and my family LIKES IT!
Hi Army hwobare you?
I am LOVING your hair! ❤
Awesome video! Loved the small to the larger grocery hauls! The price of eggs...unbelievably high so great your good friend gave you all some. I didn't have to buy any candy because we don't get trick or treaters. All over our small town there were tons of trunk or treat events for the kids.
Hi Angeka how are you?
I never know how much Halloween candy to get. Some years we are slammed and I don't have enough. Other years we barely get anyone. I bought the 5.5 pound bag of non-chocolate candy from Costco ($15) and still have most left. So I will be pawning it off on my students and my kids sports teams soon.
