So glad you have decided to keep this series. For some reason I find them very calming in the face of this inflation.
What a way to save money on your grocery budget having a UA-cam channel where you can claim your food/groceries as a business expense!! #winning
#facts
I think the difference in her family groceries and her UA-cam groceries really shows the power of slowly buying things over time when on sale! Most of us probably shop like the UA-cam groceries- here’s 5 recipes for the week and what I need to buy. Does usually end up being about $100 for just dinners and then you add on all the other stuff for breakfasts and lunches.
Agree 👍
That is good insight for those thinking she is being dishonest about how much she spends monthly. Because that 100.00 is feeding her family for 5 nights some might think she is "cheating" in a way. But they need to look at it this way. She is providing meal ideas and then on the other hand deal savings. They need to separate the two.
Ohhh great point!!! Thanks for pointing out another strategy of hers; buy slowly on sale over time.... Yes... Okay, going to think about this....
I disagree. Because then she could just claim all of her groceries are for videos. I think for the sake of authenticity if her family eats it it’s counts toward the grocery budget. I also think anytime she purchases meat from half a cow or a whole cow should count because that means she doesn’t have to buy it at the store. But she can do what she wants to do is her channel.
I cut down on grocery bill by eating PBJ or cereal or sandwich for lunch. It's saves so much money and time. Or make pizza roll ups. Tortilla topped with cheese pepperoni and cheese roll up and warm on top of stove. My kiddos loved it. New easy lunch ideas.
We got chickens last year and every time I bring in a couple eggs my husband will say “there’s a couple bucks”. 🤣 I cannot believe the price. Yesterday at Walmart an 18 pack was $10. I definitely recommend chickens. They are so sweet and obviously worth it right now.
I would get chickens if our HOA allowed. For now I'm grateful to know a friend that has them and I buy them from her for $3/ dozen
@@wolflover4life19 u can maybe help ur friend out by giving her foods scraps and maybe an extra gift or barter with a bag of familiar feed.
@@wolflover4life19and just as a suggestion to ANYONE if yall have the ability to raise chickens, an incubator is a costly investment but WORTHY if one could consider spending $200 on a flock or eggs. That 1 time investment tho can pay out year after year by circumventing the need for a hatchery. Meat birds are a different thing tho. If u want consistency of texture and familiar MODERN cookery then commercial meat birds from the store or a hatchery are a must. If u know how to tweak the cooking, prepping, breeding of the birds then eating is OK, but it IS DIFFERENT than what we get from the grocery store today.
@@americaneden3090 I second that with everything you have said!
I've had chickens for over 10 years now - but sadly, they aren't laying right now when I really NEED them too! I know it's related to shorter days and less light, so I probably need to have my husband hook up a light on a timer to encourage some egg laying - but goodness, for now, I'm paying for chicken food AND buying eggs at the store! YIKES! Just sayin'....even if you have chickens, you still have expenses for food, scratch, a few treats once in a while, etc. And, like eggs, the price of chicken food isn't getting any cheaper, either!
Mother means compassion,,, Mother means power,,,, means safety,,, means shelter,,, Mother means all hope,,, Mother means one chest of love,,,, I love you,,,"" "Mother"""
You have the brightest personality!! Like a little ball of mom sunshine!!!
Can you also please let us know if the business food expenses are being used as meals for your family as that reduces your grocery bills.
Did you know you can freeze avocados. Peel and seed. Dip in lime juice and vacuum seal. Let them get almost ripe before freezing. They are a little softer when thawed but excellent.
Thank you for sharing these videos, Christine! I love watching them!
My goal is less than $400 a month for me and my husband (and our dog 😉). That $400 a month includes all household products (Toilet paper, laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, tooth products, etc.) and dog food.
We do get some help from WIC, which has been really nice.
We are expecting a baby girl who will be born in the next 5-7 weeks 😳 So I'm also stocking up on some things, like extra Toilet paper, trash bags, and laundry detergent, so that we don't have to think about that during the early newborn weeks.
Always working to get groceries down, since that is one of our flexible expenses that we have some control over. But wow! Inflation has made it really tricky!
I have such a hard time saying no to foods I crave when I am in store. Grocery pick-up is saving our budget. I love getting to see how much I am about to spend and having a chance to adjust what is in my cart before I buy.
Yes, and I don't have to drag my two kids in the store!!
@@candycemonroe7345 yes! We do our pick up at bed time so the kids can fall asleep on the drive! 😁
where i live i can spend 35$ a month for 1 month of food but i cant really decide i buy whats cheap in season and deals only and i live vegan
About 10 - 12 months ago started changing my diet etc. I cut about a lot of junk food etc. It was because of health issues and not being able to exercise etc. Slowly losing weight. Plus interment fasting most of time etc. Also cutting down portions etc. I still have some goodies once in a while etc. How I do it, hunger pains are never as painful as back, leg, neck and migraines pains. I figure if I can get through all pain hunger pains are not bad. 😂 I keep binge goodies out of house. It's not easy but doing it. Their is nothing that is a no no just not every day or every week. So I save money. Good time to do it as food is ridiculously high. Of course I price around every where for food etc. 🤪😝😁🌸

I really appreciate the breakdown. You find amazing deals. The one thing I will say, though, is that your business expenses help keep your groceries total down as your family eats the meals you prepare for UA-cam. I understand why you keep those totals separate for tax purposes. Realistically you probably wouldn't spend as much as you do for those special meals but I suspect your monthly grocery bill would be higher. I mention this only because there are people who are watching your videos who are probably disappointed when they can't feed their family of 6 for such a low cost.
Thank you for sharing and always creating get videos
This is a very valid point I hope she takes it into consideration.
It’s a great point tho I think all of last years hauls had the business buys included. I could be mistaken but that’s what I remember.
@@kristyh982 I was curious how she divided up the processed cow they purchased also b/c I don't remember if this was added in as a one time expense or spread throughout the year?
@Kristen Hehr great point. It would be interesting to see the difference between the finL totals from last year and this year. Of course, with all the costs going up, it does make it difficult to compare fairly.
This month was particularly low because I am trying to eat out of the pantry and freezer better than I have in the past. Honestly, if I wasn't doing new UA-cam recipes for videos we would eat a LOT more beans and rice but people get really tired of that content all the time. ;)
Ohhh... Christine found 8 oz of cheese on sale for $1.69. ( 21 cents per ounce) .. I just bought sale cheese here in Vancouver for 600 grams for $9; that's 41 cents per ounce.. no wonder I cannot match these grocery haul prices. I would say even shopping the sales, going to the cheapest ethnic markets around etc. prices are easily double here. But even so, ALL Christine's tips and recipes are helpful! By using many of her strategies, I have cut my grocery bill by a lot!! Thank you!
Nice to have business expenses that can feed ur family too.
I’m still a little confused… did you eat the PW dinners? If that fed your family then that was technically your groceries. I think you’re very frugal and I enjoy the videos so much, I just have a little trouble with the math if you don’t include all the food you ate.
We gave half of those away!
I spent $280 last month for my family and filmed it. I love seeing these videos and watching how you save so much on groceries!
i spent $1000 on my wife, 2.5 y/o and myself, how are these numbers evn possible
Great way to get new subscribers. Brought me straight to your channel 😊 I love these type of videos.
@@JoshBeetler lots of stocking up on things when they are on sale and/or clearance and freezing them to use later! I also shop the weekly sales for making my meal plan during the week and if I still have some holes I go to the cheapest grocery store in my area to fill in the rest.
@@val_0520 Thanks for checking out my channel Valerie 😊. Hope you have a great day!
@@JoshBeetler im Right there with you. I'm going to change that! That's nuts.
I died laughing when I saw the counter full of chocolate chips. Kind of jealous though! 😂
After watching your recent video that you mentioned making your own bread for the entire month, I decided to try your recipe. Wow! My family loves it. I was struggling to find a recipe that we all agreed on. Thank you!!
Yaaaay so glad your doing this again this year! I too decided to track ours this year and see how it goes!
Love this video!! Thanks Christine.
Christine, my girlfriends and I are already making plans for the day after Christmas, shopping for gift kits. Thanks for the idea.
Perfect! I have most of the items you purchased lol. I'm so excited!
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing them.
Love your videos!!
Love your hair 💁♀️ 💝
What a great price on cheese 🧀 and avocado 🥑! I just spent 77¢ each on avocado and I was like yay! Finally a sale lol
I miss our old prices lol
We're a family of 8 now and I'm like man I miss the cheap eggs. That was such a cheap meal & meal stretcher. Now, I'm like no don't eat the eggs. Eat your Christmas candy and cereal lol
77cents on an avocado is unheard of in my neck of the woods. We regularly pay$2.00 each😞.
Yes, I am looking forward to your pantry and freezer clean out videos! I’m so curious to see how many months you can go before it actually starts to look half empty! Truly my favorite video so far this year!
Thank you for discussing household items. I always separate groceries and household items in my budget. It feels like household items can get out of control super fast, so I'm looking forward to any tips on keeping that in check.
They do in my house for sure. Household and pet food. We have 8 animals ....so a zoo basically. Between their food and supplies and household items and food for us It all can feel out of control quick
We keep household items and pet items separate from my grocery budget. We only have 2 cats and we buy their food and litter is the biggest sizes possible. We also buy household items in bulk at Sams and get them maybe 2x a yr for cleaning items and 4x a yr for paper products and trash bags.
@@briannehill7583 seriously, my ding ding husband buys rotisserie chickens for our dogs and cats. They eat better than us. Ha ha
I love these videos!!!
I love this series of monthly grocery hauls, thanks!
Yay more freezer pantry clean ours!!! Love the hair cut
Thanks for adding the other expenses too. Makes it easier to compare.
Christine and family have a great week have fun thanks from Oklahoma
Definitely like watching these videos. Keep them coming !
Thank you for sharing this, Christine- I love seeing the breakdown of prices. Personally, I kind of lump groceries and household expenses in one, because both are inevitable, but I am always looking to save on those.
I appreciate your tips and wisdom! Thank you for sharing and God bless you always!
Another great useful and inspiring video. Thank you🤗
You are amazing…. Love your grocery hauls …. ❤
Great video!! I love your hair ❤
Love this grocery haul vids! When your budget allows, I suggest the compostable freezer bags and sandwich bags as they are more environmentally friendly. I get ours at Target.
Thank you for splitting things into different categories. Where did you find the insane deal on the chocolate chips?? That was crazy!! Thanks again for sharing what you’ve been doing for years for your family with the world!! You’re business, at least what we see, exactly how “expert” business consultants teach people to use if they want to start their own business!!
1) Learning to save now to have money for later was necessary
2) Saving money also became fun
3) You’ve created a business/income from doing steps 1 & 2!!
It's amazing to see the increase in grocery prices.
These are my fav videos! Keep them coming, please :)!
Love the 10 minute window comment for Avacodos!! I definitely laughed out loud at how right on you are! Thanks for this video love it
Watch you all the time and like watching your shopping trips and all your cooking and taste testing. Your hair looks really cute
Awesome effort! Thanks for sharing your wisdom 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
So excited to see your breakdowns! I saw some of your previous videos but was curious with inflation
Thanks for sharing!
Hi interesting video I love watching what people buy esp prices too thank you x
Thanks for the video! It would be interesting to see your meal plans alongside the groceries you buy. I’m thankful for the tips- I have 3 little boys who will someday be teenagers… they eat enough already!!
I would love a video about how you slice and store your homemade bread!
I literally bought Reese's pancakes mix at Walmart last night with Christine in mind!! Woohoo
This is such an awesome video!! I just went to Target and found chocolate chips at the bottom shelf with a clearance tag 😂 yes I bought a few for later on!
You are such an inspiration! I am working on bringing my food budget down each month. It is so hard, and I stockpile! ❤ your videos.
I would love to see a stocktake of your freezer as a value of what you started the year with in your freezer and pantry in bulk items.
I love this channel. So funny and informative. 🌸🥰🎈🎉
170 a month is 42.50 a week for family of 6 great video😊
I love that you started the part about your 11 yo son's birthday in front of the beer!
Today my son turns 11, too. Thanks for sharing this video. Happy belated birthday to your son.
OMG I wish the prices were as low in Canada… As a reference, Here, a bell pepper is 4,99$..
I seriously wish we had some of the stores you have. Also I just need to go watch you actually shopping to see how it's done lol. I really need to start keeping track of what prices each store has and what sales are going on at each! Just one of those things I have to make myself do!
Happy birthday to him! 🎂 🎁 🎈🎉
Would love to see your meal list for the month to go along with your grocery videos.
Wishful thinking having those prices in my area even on clearance! Great buys.
Eek! I'm such a nerd! I love these data points!!!!!!
I recommended your channel on a few other channels I watch if people are looking for budget friendly, pantry clean out, easy, meals etc. some people don’t know how to stretch the buck with prices being as high as they are
Omg your grocery prices are to die for!
Love it, you have some great stores where you live!
We use wic. It’s a life saver!! So our weekly out of pocket is around $20 and once a month we spend $100 on meat at sams. It’s fantastic!! $180 for my tiny family is perfect!
Lol I thought you had extensions. Your new cut looks adorable! ❤🎉
I'm so jealous on the huge markdowns your stores offer. I have a Walmart, Aldi, and Shop n Save where I live and they don't mark thing down much at all. "Buy or freeze today" items are only marked down 10%. We do have a small Dollar Tree and Dollar General but they don't have refrigerator sections. We don't have a bread outlet anymore either. If I had your stores, I could save a lot more.
Wow I thought my 33% of expiring meat was bad! Honestly though you still can build up a freezer over time, I'm on Long Island, NY & do pretty well with savings. I'm jealous of the produce discounts, I hardly ever get them. 😫
Aldi sale stuff gets bought up in the 1st two hours there open. Best markdown day is usually Tuesday morning in my town because the new sales start on Wednesday. I usually can get lots of meat and bread products for 50% off.
RIGHT!!!!! 💯 My stores do not have all these clearance items.
@@lovelife7343 that’s nice but I’m at work on Tuesday AM…..I’m glad you are able to be there as soon as they open though.
Our local stores…Fry’s(Kroger) and Safeway we have never seen clearance items like this? I wish we did!
Hey Christine love you videos. Rogue is so sweet. How is speedy doing? We dont see much of her anymore. Hope you and your family are doing good. Love yall ❤️
Your family eats the groceries you buy for business, right? So do you add the business grocery expense to your monthly grocery expense for the total groceries it takes to feed your family? (I could understand excluding the Reese's items you bought because those are just extra treats.)
Yes!! Like it’s business expense but also your family eating it so that’s why your spending less on groceries 😅🫠
I really love your videos
Aww that's my birthday too! Happy belated birthday little one! 🥳
Your editing is on point!
Good luck doing this in Canada.
Our food is getting so expensive that even generic food brands are getting way too pricey.
I went to Kroger Saturday and ,blew my budget lol, but so worth it! Bc they had pork loin 10/$10 a pack so I got 4 packs and they had 3lbs rolls of hamburger meat for under $9! I was like omg buying 3 of those too! So I stocked up on meat and got everything broken down into baggies and meal prepped a few things for this WK. We even tried a new recipe that was q hit for most of our kids 💝
Like yay! 💝 This morning while watching UA-cam I have cut some colored bell peppers and green bell peppers (that are on their last legs) and put them in baggies in the freezer. I'm like man Monday is going good! 💝
I don't normally do this lol
So I'm like this will help me this wk. It's a busy wk and I know this will help me lol
You mean 10 pork loin chops for $10? 2.5lbs of pork for $10 is expensive. Just a tip if you buy a pork loin half or whole boneless they will cut it into whatever size chops you want. :) can get them from $1.49lb to $2.49lb here. I found that out because my dad went to meat cutting school MANY years ago. I do that now. Or just cut it myself. 2 roasts one from each end and the middle into 1 inch chops. Thought I'd just let you know.
@@hannahkayee831 thanks 💝
I haven't found pork loin much in our area so I was excited 😊
I'll check the next time if they finally have the loin not cut. They haven't had that the last couple times I've been.
@@hannahkayee831 usually I get the pork loin and put it in my crockpot, but they only had the cut up kind. I was just happy to find it lol
@@cambriaperez2865 congrats on finding it! 🎉🎉🎉
Just seen it was at Kroger for $2.49lb so a great deal :)
We took a risk on the generic brand rinse aid at Walmart recently, and it works just as well as Jet Dry for like half the price. Definitely worth a try!!
WOW
Those blue bags are my favorite and really expensive,!
Great deal
Your hair looks fantastic!!!
Wow almost a half Million subs! Congrats !!
I spend about 390$ a month in groceries ..deep freezer is full and pantry is well stocked but I always buy if on sale I try to buy the limited on a product
Lovin it 💖
Those jimmy dean sausage tubes are an amazing find!
Now I know why when I went to Walmart after the holidays to try and get a few of those holiday body care packs I couldn't find any. Seems a little insensitive. I understand getting a few months worth, a few boxes of each, but this much seems to be excessive. The year before I was able to score 2 packs of razors, 2 packs of body wash, and 2 packs of lotion. I felt that was a blessing and helped cut those expenses for several months. This year I could literally not find a single holiday pack at the numerous Walmarts I went to, so videos like this are kind of frustrating.
Great cut Christine :) makes you feel great ..glenda (my safeway/albertsons has sale ad come to me on wed that starts thursday and I shop ONLY the sales BUT THE CHEESE in some form almost always goes on good sale much better than even winco) I have walked out of there and only had sale items in my cart and said a silent YES - LAUGHED so hard when you said "someone must be drinking milk all whilly nilly ) do you know how much milk I went thru every 2 weeks ...8 gallons - four growing almost grown boys and no soda in house ....
Christine , I look forward to your videos.
I’m surprised you don’t make bagels. So frugal. Also, English muffins are sooo easy. I make tortillas to 😊but that is time intensive but freeze well. Tortilla making party and the whole family helps. Taste so much better than the sour taste in Mission tortillas.
Thanks. 😊
The eggs at Costco are definitely worth buying. Thanks Christine and family 😊
We’re i live they don’t have all the discount stores near me. So I have to spend a tremendous amount on groceries 😢
I love your laugh!♥️
When it comes to avocados, buy them hard ,leave them uncovered next to the fruit .helps them ripe faster .As soon as they change color and are soft to the touch put them in the fridge an they’ll last for about 2 weeks or more.
I would have bought the snot out of the sausage and chocolate chips too. Bagels are so easy to make and you can make them at a reasonable size. I feel the store bought ones are just too large. Our favorite is cheddar and bacon mixed in and then before baking topped with reconstituted onions. We also make soft pretzels but in balls instead of pretzel shapes because it's just too large.
Hmm.. it feels wery strange when you put all the cost of the Pioner woman... in the column Business expences and non in the food.
Ofc you should have it as Business expences to (since you have a business and need to put it in the company accountings) but I think you should add it into the cost of feeding your family to when you add all food costs together. It´s not like you made the video and didn´t eat the food, you still had to buy food to feed your family those days. A taste test like the Reeses doesn´t feel the same
You are inspiring me to aim for $500 a month. It's actually kind of difficult for me really so this is a good start.
I just found your channel, and I love it! One tip, use plain white vinegar instead of that expensive rinse aid in the dishwasher. It works great. Thanks for all the tips!
Your hair looks great!
I love that white jacket that you are wearing in this video. It is so cute!
Also I started going to a bread thrift stores and will freeze the bread and some sweets
I'm not sure if I missed it. Are the meals made specifically for youtube eaten by your family or do you do something else with that food? If your family is eating that food then you have to include the cost in the total you are spending to feed your family. You can still put it in as a business expense, but you also have to count it towards the family groceries.
Yes I was thinking the same thing.
She does meal budget challenges and donates the food she buys for those
I believe if her family doesn’t eat it, she usually packs it up for someone in need in her community. She’s mentioned people that had various needs before.
Excellent deal on the large bag of cheese. Our sale price is $7.99 exact same brand too. I’m in Texas.
I can't wait to see the Reeses video! Our youngest just had a peanut challenge that was successful, which means we can now eat all the things peanuts for the first time in 12 years!
Congrats on the peanut challenge!!!! I'm also super excited for the video because I'm a huge Reese's fan.
That's so awesome! Praise the Lord! woot woot!!
Amen! So amazing!
You broke up your expenses into different groups so it seemed lower but if it all comes out of 1 bank account like mine does then it is the total expense. Which is much higher. Plus you are shopping frequently throughout the week. What about families that don't have the time or gas money? Basically you are shopping the sales. Which is good but not enough to truly help most families.
