The guitarist you're seeing in the video is Joe Holmes, who played on the "Ozzmosis Tour". However, since this video is dubbed to the studio track, the guitarist you're hearing is Zakk Wilde, who co-wrote this song and played on the album. If I remember correctly, Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) was playing bass for this album.
@@snakeinthegrass7443 I believe Zakk was on tour with his solo band Black Label Society when this video was shot and the guy in the vid was used as a stand in. Now don't quote me on that because Zakk was fired just before Ozzy's last album because Sharon though Ozzy needed some new blood to write Ozzy's music.
Perry Mason was a series of books turn into movies. The iconic adaptation was the TV show starring Raymond Burr. First, one hour weekly shows and in then as TV movies. The books show the evolution of the law from the early 30s through the 70s.
Thank you guys so so so much!!! Almost ALL other reactors are straight up sleeping on this song!! You guys made my fucking week with this!! Also, try and do "I Just Want You" off of the same album. It will be a smash hit! Promise! Thanks again! Much love!!!
"I just want you" - Ozzy Please do next! Kinda organically became the wife's and I "song" Love it!!! Also, the amount of insanely just ELITE guitarist he has had is mind blowing. On this you can instantly tell this was Zakk Wylde.
Perry Mason was one of my father's favorite shows, he watched it until he died. I watched the old series as a child, the 90s series as a teen and now as an adult the new series. Like father, like son.
I remember knowing who Ozzy was but after hearing this song on the radio back in 1995 and I had to dig into his catalogue and that's when I found Randy Rhoads and Jake E Lee. Perry Mason was the song that did it for me. My personal favorite is Mr. Crowley from Blizzard of Oz.
I used to listen to this album and particularly this song (and Ghost behind my Eyes) when I was 12 almost literally all day one summer. Very nostalgic.
Murder she wrote. Wikipedia: Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury DBE (October 16, 1925 - October 11, 2022) was a British-American actress. In a career spanning 80 years, she played various roles across film, stage, and television. Although based for much of her life in the United States, her work attracted international attention. Lansbury was born to an upper-middle-class family in Central London, the daughter of Irish actress Moyna Macgill from Belfast and English politician Edgar Lansbury. To escape the Blitz, she moved to the United States in 1940, studying acting in New York City. Moving into television in 1984, she achieved worldwide fame as the sleuth Jessica Fletcher in the American whodunit series Murder, She Wrote, which ran for twelve seasons until 1996, becoming one of the longest-running and most popular detective drama series in television history.
Morning fellas!! Great video! I know the song but hadn't seen the music video yet. Hey have you done " no more tears" by Ozzy it has zakk Wylde when he was much younger in it.(I'm bias I guess because imma huge zakk Wylde fan❤️❤️❤️). Anyways, great choice guys!!!
0:50 Not only was it one time, supposedly it was an accident. He intended to bite the head off of a prop bat and someone had thrown a live bat onto the stage. You were thinking of Angela Lansbury who starred in Murder, She Wrote. Murphy Brown was about a female TV journalist. And who do I need on the case? The Ace Attorney himself, Phoenix Wright! This is in my personal top 5 w/Shot in the Dark, S.A.T.O., I Don't Know, Diary of a Madman and Bark at the Moon
It's a reference to when Ozzy was feeling like Perry Mason, being frequently stuck in courtrooms for several years over a couple of big lawsuits. The first was the famous "Suicide Solution" case in the 80s when the parents of that kid that committed suicide tried to sue Ozzy for 'encouraging' kids to kill themselves. Ozzy won, of course. The second case was when Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake teamed up to try and sue Ozzy for more money for their participation on Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman. That case droned on for years even though Daisley and Kerslake were never going to get anywhere. They didn't have a case. But no matter how many times the courts ruled in Ozzy's favor, they just kept appealing and re-filing... probably trying to frustrate him into some kind of a settlement. Anyway... in Ozzy's book, he talks about those two cases and says: "All I wanted to do was get on with being a 'rock 'n' roller', and instead I ended up being Perry-fucking-Mason, giving depositions here, there and everywhere."
Ozzy latest single is called crack coccaine and it don't take a lyrical analysis to know what the song is about one thing about ozzy hes always straight with his message
That's not an Ozzy single though... it's The Morrison Project... The Morrison Project is album by BILLY MORRISON Featuring guest performances by Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, DMC, Al Jourgensen, Steve Vai, Steve Stevens, Linda Perry, Tommy Clufetos, John 5 and more.
In my humble opinion, this was Ozzy's best song by far. That was Zakk Wylde's guitar playing on Perry Mason, but it was Joe Holmes in the video. Joe Holmes was a student of Randy Rhodes and was Zakk Wylde's replacement. I was able to see Ozzy in the 90s with Joe Holmes. Joe was an absolute monster guitar player live.
'Perry Mason' was from Ozzy Osbourne's 1995 album 'Ozzmosis'... the musicians on the record were legendary - Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde (who is currently touring w/ Pantera and has his own band Black Label Society), and drummer Deen Castronovo (currently the drummer of Journey) Ozzy said that he felt that 'Ozzmosis' was a "lazy" record... It was the 90's and grunge/ alternative rock was the trend... and Ozzy was 80's rock/ metal... Still, Ozzy defied the odds and scored another platinum-selling record w/ 'Ozzmosis'... He pulled off his first Ozzfest festival shows in 1996 and made it an annual heavy metal touring event for a decade.
The album version of this song is a bit longer. Check out THUNDER UNDERGROUND and MY JEKYLL DOESN'T HIDE from this same album. OZZMOSIS. These two are highly overlooked but crushingly heavy, heavier than PERRY MASON. And yes, Zakk Wylde is the ax man on this album.
The rhythm of this song is based off the Perry Mason theme; the 1957-1966 series that aired on CBS and starred Raymond Burr as the eponymous character, is based on a series of books by author Erle Stanley Gardner. One of the greatest TV courtroom dramas of all time
So damn late to the party doubt you guys see this, however, I wish you guys would actually do an Ozzy day or marathon something. You guys NEED to checkout his first four albums at least. Songs like Suicide Solution, Believer, Over the Mountain, Flying High Again, Rock n Roll Rebel, You're No Different, Ultimate Sin and Killer of Giants to name some.
loved this song I always blasted it in the 90s through high school and even now a days. and I went and seen Ozzy then was awesome I seen him with black sabith also I love the song he did with Lita ford also Ozzy close my eyes forever
If you care Perry Mason was a character created by Earle Stanley Gardner and he appeared in many novels. The TV show was based on the character from the novels. Earle Stanley Gardner actually appeared in the show as a judge.
C'mon, Ozzy can do no wrong, he nails it on every song. I got this album on CD and played it just recently. Rock and Roll will never die, as long as Ozzy is still alive. I love this channel's vibe and that's because of The Tribe!
The original series turned Ozzy down for this song being the theme for the show. Said it sounded to futuristic. And Hollywood, you must not have heard that Ozzy swept the 1876 Grammy's with 9 awards for his 57th album, No More Civil War.😁
This was my first Ozzy cd, and my favorite. Every single song on it is good. It's also my favorite guitar work from the legendary Zack Wylde. This was one of the first cd's I ever bought, I'm 47 now and still have it. For me, this is right up there with Back in Black and the Justice cd from Metallica. Ozzy has even said this was his best work.
I always thought this track was underrated. It's one of my favorites. And that is Geezer Butler on bass. He gives this album a bit of that classic Sabbath sound.
When it comes to Ozzy there are 3 camps. First are the Randy Rhodes addicts.Second are the Zakk Wylde fanatics. And third is Ozzy with Gus G. The Randy fans are hardcore , hell even Zakk is a Randy fan. For me i always liked Zakk's tone the best , just my taste. Almost forgot Jake E. Lee ! ! Always thought Jake was a very unique & exceptional player who had the tough job of trying to fill Randy's shoes. To his credit , he did his own thing and helped right two great Ozzy albums.
I remember when Rhodes died. My buddies and I were bummed big time and pissed with Ozzy for dissing him as "dime a dozen" afterward. But I was thirteen or so at the time. Now, decades later, I see that Ozzy was the sort of person whose struggles with grief left him saying stupid things he didn't mean and regretting them afterward. Rhodes's playing back then was groundbreaking. He was the guitar hero shredder to challenge Eddie Van Halen for the crown. Then came the plane crash.
I really don't know but just by the time this was made that might be one of ozzys 2 daughters at the end of video this is pre Osbornes, and that's not Kelly but ozzys older daughter maybe
I saw him on the tour right after this album. Freakin amazing show with Type O Negative and Sepultura! Never will forget how he ran out on stage with a super soaker and sprayed the front rows.
He thought the bat was rubber! And he is famous for everything because of Sharon. Hung with them three times. Ozzy is super sweet and smart. Sharon is all business!

The osmosis album is one of ozzys best in my opinion, comeing off of no more tears how do you follow up thst album? Osmosis is every bit as good as an album
His song "No more Tears" for me has the best solo to ever appear in a song.
Top tier song. Sympton of the universe was one of my favourite bass lines as well

However, since this video is dubbed to the studio track, the guitarist you're hearing is Zakk Wilde, who co-wrote this song and played on the album. Interesting. Did they have a bad split, or something? Or did Zakk just move on by the time the video was shot?
I thought that was zakk he has a particular guitar sound! I thought I was trippin..lol...

Geezer makes a very quick appearance in this video.

Ozzy has been consistently great throughout his entire music career and doesn't get enough credit.
Really? Ozzy is a God of metal but he doesn't get enough credit? Are you smoking some laced shit or something bro?
I love the whole Diary of a Madman album.

He never lost a case. 😊
Murder She Wrote starred Angela Lansbury playing the character Jessica Fletcher.
I love Mama I'm Coming Home sooo much! If you haven't covered that one yet, you should! Also cover his cover of Changes!!

Perry Mason was one of my father's favorite shows, he watched it until he died. I watched the old series as a child, the 90s series as a teen and now as an adult the new series. Like father, like son.

Ozzy Osbourne "Diary of a Madman" and Black Sabbath "Hand of Doom" or "Into the Void" would be some good choices.
