How to cut short blond hair pixie like with texturizing, thinning shears

- Short, blond hair is always a winner and a must know for all hairstylists. This tutorial covers all necessary steps on how to achieve the perfect shape, balance, proportions etc.

I was gonna ask about that; how does one handle the back of one’s own head? I’d like to clean up my hair between visits to a hairdresser and maybe try a full cut myself one day; what do I do about the crown of the head and nape of my neck?
Since growing out and ending over 35 years of coloring (turns out my natural hair now is a multidimensional silver), I have notice a change in texture. I have worn it short for many years, but I notice that hairstylists have trouble giving me a cut like this w/o coarser parts kind of sticking up near the bottom. The way you cut this woman's hair was just wonderful. I will have to show this to my stylist next time.
really good tutorial. and what a gorgeous woman. to me there is nothing like a beautiful woman, and who ALSO has really short hair. it's that combination of beauty + kick=ass confidence. far too many women 'hide' behind their longer hair. But then, not every woman can look good in short hair...
Im starting to think my long hair made me less attractive. I never got so many compliments as when i got this pixie cut.
I have very hard to deal with hair and having it short helps me not to have anxiety about my hair.

of course i share + cut every age group and never CUTTING tutorials on mannequin heads OR very super seldom. Everyone is using mannequins not taking hair grows, hair lines etc under consideration...
Fantastic hair cut and style! I would LOVE it if a stylist actively moved my hair around like this. I have very thick, heavy, dry, naturally curly/some areas straight, totally impossible, now cut short hair. If a stylist would work with my hair in this manner, I could get a decent hair cut!! They could see it move and see where it needs "pruning" and "debulking", they could feel the bulk and weight and texturize it accordingly, etc. I WANT my hair to move like that - if it doesn't move like that when you are at the salon, I guarantee you it sure as heck won't move freely when you leave. OMG, I have been trying to cut my moms hair wet for so long and I can't get the look I want. I did practice hair cutting in the 80's however I have lost my touch... THANK YOU MIKE KARG. I will be doing this with thinning shears that I have. I just cut the top of my own hair and love it.

Be very careful using thinning shears particularly on thin hair. You need texture but thinning shears may be the wrong way to get it.

I know you posted this a few years ago but I must tell you, This video is the #1 BEST VIDEO AND TECHNIQUE on cutting short hair for women! It is my Holy Grail! I have been cutting my own pixie short hair for a few years and have always struggled with different techniques and tools, from shears to razor combs and have had hits and misses! You have simplified cutting and it is fool proof! People are always baffled when I tell them I cut my own hair. I have went to many salons and even a barbershop in the past and have left disappointed and sometimes embarrassed at how my hair turned out even after bringing pictures, and none of those stylists have ever used this technique! I have recently had my long hair cut all off. And I wanted this style of cut. It seems at my regret no one who knows how to cut this way. I guess I have to let them see this video. Love that hair cut - I’m cutting my own hair right now (and everyone else’s hair in my family) because of the Coronavirus. I’m a nurse so have no experience. Found the video and I of course can’t cut my own hair like that but I try (can’t afford your scissors but they look really nice).
