I started to cut my own curls because nobody could cut it, and it's the best thing I could've done for my hair, Manes by Mell has great videos for cutting your own hair 😁
@@berchyzgb4423Me too! I receive compliments all the time as well women have come up to me telling me love your pixie style where do you have it done? It's the best decision I ever made. 🥰
I would never do this. It's not worth all of the pain. You are extremelyprecise. I will not ever attempt it, nor should anyone. It's very hard and it's really needed to have been done by anyone other than anyone who watches this, just don't try it. You will eff it up. Free! You must be joking! I am a retired hairdresser and have cut my own pixie cut for years. It is definitely not easy but the way you held the hair and the scissors tell me that you are pro. You did a great job and I don’t believe that this was your first time cutting hair. You obviously had training
I kept a pixie cut for a few years in college. I cut it myself and maintained it monthly for that time. I have no cosmetology experience at all and if I can do it, you can DEFINITELY do it!
the way you part/split your hair is so heckin smart! didnt even think of this! my hair grows so fast and its like $50 for a haircut here in australia, or at least what i want. im good at cutting hair but have struggled with my pixie. thank you for this!
As a barber i have to say you did an amazing job there, and you made it look so soft and as I cut my own hair with clippers I know it takes some practise but it's very satisfying. Well done!
First...I love your sweet little puppy! Seeing the love for you in your pup's face is really heart warming. Second...SOOOOO CUTE! You are so talented is ridiculous! To do that kind of a complicated cut on yourself and have it turn out absolutely beautiful is something else. So flirty and feminine and flattering too! Brava!!!
I cut my hair as well, because everytime I allow someone else to cut it I was always unhappy with the cut. I would like to share how I started doing mine, because you are so correct, the back is tricky... lol My hack is that I apply painters tape from one ear to the other across the back... you can now not worry if it is straight... just follow the edge of the tape. I use a #4 on the bottom and then I can use scissors on the tape line guide. It looks silly but I love the crisp line this allows me to make.... your cut is so adorable...
I've cut my own pixie cuts for roughly 13 years. It is SO hard to get it right. I've gotten it wrong soooo many times. And you did such a beautiful job! Wow!
I absolutely love short hair on women. About every 5 years I buzz mine off, then grow it back. Mine has been growing for two years. I don't mind the "awkward" stage, because I have curly hair. You did an awesome job, very brave. You are beautiful. 💕💕
It looks gorgeous on you and really well cut. I have cut my pixie cut for the last 60 ayears in exactly the same way you have done yours. I just don't like going to the hairdressers and getting wrong cuts. My hair grow extremely fast, 1/2 inch a week so it's cut twice monthly before stepping in the shower. Well done on a brilliant job.❤
I have been cutting my hair for years now, and have full length mirrors, one on the back of the door and one on the wall, so I can easily see the back and both sides. I added a small shelf for clippers and scissors and some good lights, and i cut my hair every couple of weeks, sometimes the undercut, sometimes the top, sometimes both. Having a good setup definitely helps. You have done a beautiful job, kudos!
Thank you for such inspiration! Today I cut my hair first time after finishing chemo treatment and it looks great! I was afraid I’ll fuck it up but I did it!!! Thank you so so much!
I actually maintained a pixie haircut on myself during several years, not as professional as you of course, because the point of my hair is that I did like it going in every direction and being very messy and lively. It did work with my loose curl texture. I used the same technique as you to buzz the back though ;)
I resonate with this video so hard. I survived violence multiple times where my hair was grabbed. I got my hair pixied n I loved it. I let it grow to a bob for compulsive femininity. Had an unconfident lady cut it into a better bob. Hated it. Started to have panic attacks n almost lobbed everything off in an episode [no hair cutting experience] So I paid $12 for a paul mitchell school haircut where 4 ladies cut it into a basic pixie shape. I bought thinning shears, henna, n stole my moms sewing scissors and gave myself the best pixie and haircut I’ve ever had. Healing. I cried a lot. So much release in short hair.
Stella, I am obsessed with this pixie cut! I freaking love it! You Look gorgeous! And it's so impressive that you cut it yourself! Excited to see what's coming next 😍🖤
I was so glad when you decided to make the back shorter. Your neck looks so long and elegant, and you shaped it up so your hair looks perfectly rounded and neat. Great head shape. 👍

I did the same exact thing yesterday, but had a longer base to start from, and I LOVE IT. I really love how yours came out too, you look soooooooo cute!!!
I can see they highlights much better in this video. Looks so cute! I've trimmed up my pixie myself a few times without nearly as much skill. It's great to see someone else do it. Makes me want to try it again!
i'm so impressed! the end result is also super cute and i love the chocolate brown hair color. you're making me want to cut my hair into a pixie again!
Watching you cut past your second knuckle gave me anxiety for you. I'm glad you didn't cut yourself! I still cut myself occasionally even After 9 years of cutting. This is a very well done for doing it on yourself! Love your videos :)
Just wanted to say that I know it can be hard to trust ads, but after trying tons of pillows I bought that one and I will never go back. There's an adjustment window, but once you are past it, it is the best pillow ever.
STUNNING!! 🤩 I’ve been barbering my own hair since we first locked down for COVID!! I maintain an undercut with clippers and keep a longer pixie/ short bob on top 😊
Im currently growing out my pixie cut that I've had and cut by myself for 9 years 🤣 I find doing your own pixie cuts really easy as there are so many different ways to have a pixie cut. Love your cut. You look amazing.
Just found your video . I subbed and liked. I also shaved my hair off last year. I have been cutting my hair since then because I hate the way they cut my hair. You are so pretty and your hair cut came out beautiful. Enjoy the compliments you will be getting. Take care.
Now this is an amazing haircut for you- 1000 percent you knocked this out of the ball park and then some, stunning- feminine- bold- and 100 percent a haircut to have to say… I am here. I’m confident and I rock this look. Amazing ❤
Before Christmas I went to get a super cute longer pixie and the stylist almost shaved my head, I cried so much because I hate it. The difference between a good cut like yours and a stylist lying about being able to cut a pixie is enormous.
@@DarkwaveMistress I had grown out from a VERY short pixie for 5 months with this cut in mind. She took me all the way back to the original cut 😭. I’m cutting it myself from now on. I just don’t trust anyone anymore.
This gave me confidence to try trimming my pixie cut. Couldn't finish the back - my partner helped me tidy it up - but it looks pretty good! Thanks for a lovely video!
You are definitely correct that it takes different skills/experience to cut short hair. My wife had a couple friends visit three years ago to grill out on the deck. Her best friend asked me to give her a trim, no big deal, she has one length, mid back hair, I trim it for her regularly. So I trimmed about an inch off the ends as she requested. Her other friend said that the mullet thing on her neck of her overgrown pixie was bugging her big time, and she asked if I could cut short hair as it is harder than trimming long hair. My wife pointed out that I regularly give her two boys their haircuts, cut short, but not shaved bald. She said that she wanted her hair cut short, like the older teen. I said that is quite short, are you sure? She said yes, and I got out the bag of barbering tools, put a neck strip around her neck and then the pin striped cape. I told her that I do the boys’ haircuts with clippers, is she comfortable with that? She said yes, so I used the clippers with different attachments on the back and sides, then used a clippers over the comb for the top and to blend the back and sides. I finished up her neckline with the peanut clippers. I took off about 4” of hair, it was about your length when I finished. She loved it when she inspected the results in the bathroom mirror. Her husband who loves short hair really loved it. She is a petite woman with delicate features, she can carry off such a short haircut, most women don’t have the face shape or features to, and it wouldn’t look good on them. If I hadn’t given hundreds of haircuts to the boys, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable with cutting her hair so short. I gave her another haircut a few months later because the salon she usually went to required a mask, and she wanted no part of that. Her husband suggested that she have me cut her hair, as he loved the last haircut I gave her, plus it was a free haircut.
I haven't been able to afford a haircut lately, and then I saw this video and I thought, why not? Now my hair looks awesome again. I hope one day I can experiment with fun colours like you do too. Thank you ❤

Almost couldn't believe when you said your hair situation before your haircut was unmaintained uniform growth all over as it already looked so neat, defined and intentional 😊
I gave myself a haircut last year. My hair was bob cut and wanted to cut it short, like a pixie cut but a bit longer. So I watched some tutorials on youtube and cut my own hair. I had to put a big mirror behind me and the cutting process was not easy, it was tricky as hell! I had to adjust what I saw in the mirror and my own body/head/hands movements, because like you said the back part is the hardest! Never ever will I cut my own hair again! (but the result was pretty amazing though, I got a few compliments from friends, but in the end I decided to go to my hairstylist just to make it look neater).
What in the world? Your hair looks great!! In between, out of in between, etc. Girlie, you look great. Boy, I see all types of ladies, of all ethnic backgrounds, and they look great to me.

Why do people ask here if shes not gonna grow out her hair? first of all its her hair and life so its none of our bussiness. Second of all, growing out a buzzcut is awkward ( i am on my 3rd month on growing out my buzzcut too and im also planning on cutting it to a pixie cut when my top is a little bit longer) if you are saying ,letting a buzzcut grow is like growing out a pixie-No! Your sides and back will grow longer first than your top which is horrible! I know some people can grow out their buzzcut with no problem perhaps they use hats and beanie for many months but some cannot do that 😂 you gotta trim your hair at some point then once you establish that clean pixie you can slowly grow it out , let it grow on the same length and soon be an apple cut to short bob. Sorry for my english.not my first language. But its hard to explain hahaa😂✌️
I feel you I am almost month 7 of growing out a buzz- it gets somewhat better? But I still just wish I could skip a year and have hair again!!! Edit ugh hit send before finishing ANYWAY I agree you HAVE to trim/cut shape it and to be honest I don’t think it matter much in the beginning stages anyway…
I have a pixie and cut my hair but always have someone I know do the back you have showed be how to do the back myself now. I’m a lefty so everyone in my family who are hairdressers tell me you they can’t teach me I can cut everyone hair and do my own hair Thanks for your video. Love your Pixie,Sexy Fairy,Beautiful,Alluring Goddess ❤
I did a mid length cut on myself this year for first time and get compliments on it. Makes me extra proud. Mid length is sooo much easier than cutting a pixie I am sure
Well....I gotta give you credit. I'm currently in the "awkward phase" after getting a pixie for the first time ever this past summer & I don't have the guts to trim it myself. You did such a good job! I'd end up bald 😭 I'm probably gonna deal with the growth because now I want dreads again and as soon as I have 5-6 inches of growth I'm grabbing my crotchet hook and putting those extensions back in ☺️ You rock, great vid 👍🌹❤️
That cut proves what I have said for years short hair rocks. I currently have mid to low back length hair as can not get out to hairdresser all I do is, wash and tie up as it gets in way with short hair I could re style several times a day I miss it
You are absolutely STUNNING!!!! EXQUISITE CUT on you! You have inspired me! 🥰🥰🥰🫠❤❤❤💖💞 OH, and you are right. This cut is absolutely FEMININE, you just have to know how to work it. ❤❤❤😊
What do u mean not 10/10! I Could not imagine it looking any better! I’ve been growing my hair out from a buzz for over a year now, and a couple days ago cut the back and now is much more like a one length hairstyle. (Bit shorter than my chin) Turned out really well, too. I know what you mean about femininity. I hate it when women say they can’t do something because they wouldn’t be able to “pull it off” - I think that’s more of a mindset. Been much enjoying growing my hair out this time (2nd time after the first time I cut it into a pixie) by learning to embrace every stage.. lol and trying not to cut it again and again. And I’d definitely shave my head again in a heartbeat
Deeply impressed by the amount of precision displayed! I am confident enough to cut my own hair only because it’s curly and conceals any mistakes 🙈
Gurl it may seem like a good ideea….but don’t do it (yourself, ask for professional help)😊❤

Soooooooooooooo beautiful! And again you have so much talent!
I have a pixie and cut my hair but always have someone I know do the back you have showed be how to do the back myself now. I’m a lefty so everyone in my family who are hairdressers tell me you they can’t teach me I can cut everyone hair and do my own hair Thanks for your video.
Love your Pixie,Sexy Fairy,Beautiful,Alluring Goddess ❤
total femine look- lovely elegant nape, great colour, and sides
You’re gorgeous NO MATTER how you do your hair!!
I'd end up bald 😭
I'm probably gonna deal with the growth because now I want dreads again and as soon as I have 5-6 inches of growth I'm grabbing my crotchet hook and putting those extensions back in ☺️
You rock, great vid 👍🌹❤️
I’m impressed! You did such a great job! 😍
That cut proves what I have said for years short hair rocks.
I currently have mid to low back length hair as can not get out to hairdresser all I do is, wash and tie up as it gets in way with short hair I could re style several times a day I miss it
I’m mesmerized by your calmness and habilites ❤
You are absolutely STUNNING!!!! EXQUISITE CUT on you! You have inspired me! 🥰🥰🥰🫠❤❤❤💖💞 OH, and you are right. This cut is absolutely FEMININE, you just have to know how to work it. ❤❤❤😊
Amazing job Stella I also cut my own hair too, the pixie cut look just stunning on you 😊
You did a fantastic job🤩🌸
Well, the only thing to say is well done !👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I was afraid of the result of this wild idea too 😂 But, as usual, you nailed it, you’re talented !
You look amazing with every style and every colour. Stunning 🔥
