Thanks Tom, I am guessing that the area for the cone expands as the water depth increases? Meaning, if you did that same test with the 19 degree ice ducer in 16 feet water depth (double your test), I am guessing that the point that you would see your lure would be greater than the 23 inches in this test?
I had a really hard time using my proview ducer in shallow water, it excelled in deep water though. I think I would have kept my 28 if it would have had a selectable dual beam like both my HB and Marcum had. I just couldn’t get used to the Proview. It seemed like there was too much power and I understand about the weed mode and lp mode, but that was too much messing around for my liking. I know lots of people who really like their proview though.
Tom needs to realize that proview in shallow water fishing and turning the gain up for a "larger" cone is a joke. A tri beam was Far superior to the pro view.....but now to get a multiple cone u need to drop $800 on a vexilar..FLX30BB......lmfao.....
It would be a 46 inch diameter and a 23inch radius
Great video with awesome tips!
Super helpful!
What kind of transducer arm are you using?
Any video for hard and soft bottom? And how can I know on screen that is big fish or small fish , I spent hours for small Perch
The thing i don't understand about the pro view is how do adjust the cone but not get to much interference
I am definitely going to upgrade my fl18 to the pro view transducer.

So if I'm fishing multiple close holes or with a buddy in my shack, and using just one locator, the Proview would be the way to go?

Simple Geometry.
Are those hinged transducer support arms for sale as a stand alone product?
You mean 23 inches around at the BOTTOM right, not all the way down?
In deep water I can see anyone 10 feet away. My Vex is an old fl-8😏
Also note that anything beyone 45ft the ProView is trash. Cant and wont pick up a 3mm tungsten! The best setup imo would be the Tri-Beam setup
Damn that pro view is noisy.
The deeper you fish the more cone angle youll have but more clutter and less of a pickup. And it also depends on your unit as well
